Quick answers
Do eufy cameras need a HomeBase?
Some do. eufyCam models like the 2C, 2C Pro, E40, S330, S300 (3C) and S3 Pro are add-on cameras: they need a compatible HomeBase to work at all. SoloCams, most indoor cams and battery doorbells like the C30 and E340 record on their own, so a HomeBase is an optional upgrade for them.
Does the eufyCam 2C or 2C Pro work with HomeBase 3?
Yes. Both pair with HomeBase 2 or HomeBase 3 (and the HomeBase Professional S1). They are add-on cameras, so they can't run without a hub.
Which hub do the eufyCam S330 (eufyCam 3) and S3 Pro need?
A HomeBase 3 (S380), or the HomeBase Professional S1. They don't operate standalone and don't pair with HomeBase 2 or HomeBase Mini.
Does the SoloCam S340 need a HomeBase?
No. It records to 8 GB onboard storage (note: no microSD slot). Add a HomeBase 3 for expandable storage and BionicMind AI detection.
Do the SoloCam S220 or S230 work with HomeBase 2?
The S220 is listed as supported in eufy's compatibility guide (updated August 2026), though eufy's own S220 page still says HomeBase 3 or newer; ask us first. The S230 (S40) is not supported on HomeBase 2; HomeBase Mini, HomeBase 3 and the Professional S1 are its optional hubs. Keep camera and hub firmware current.
What chime does the Video Doorbell C30 use?
There's no chime in the box and it can't drive existing mechanical chimes. Pair eufy's MiniBase Chime (T8023) or Chime 2 (T8026), a HomeBase, or an Alexa Echo speaker.
Can the Video Doorbell E340 use my existing chime?
Yes, when hardwired to existing doorbell wiring (8 to 24 V AC, at least 10 VA, as printed on the doorbell). Mechanical chimes only; digital chimes aren't supported. It also runs fully on battery with 8 GB built-in storage, and pairs with eufy's MiniBase Chime (T8023), Chime 2 (T8026), a HomeBase or an Alexa Echo speaker for its ring sound. Google speakers can't act as its chime.
Which eufy smart locks work with a HomeBase?
Only eufy's video locks: Video Smart Lock S330 and E330, FamiLock S3 and S3 Max, and the Smart Lock E40 (T85M0). They pair with HomeBase 3 or the HomeBase Professional S1, and eufy also lists HomeBase Mini for the Smart Lock E40 (its compatibility guide lists Mini for the E330 and S3 Max too). eufy's other smart locks run over Wi-Fi with the eufy app and pair with no HomeBase; for the Professional S1 eufy has published nothing either way on several of them, so the chart shows a question mark there rather than a cross.
Does the SoloCam E42 support Apple HomeKit?
Yes, when paired to a eufy HomeBase 3. It isn't a standalone HomeKit camera, and eufy's other SoloCams don't support HomeKit at all.
Do eufy alarm sensors work without a HomeBase?
No. Every eufy entry sensor, motion sensor, flood sensor, keypad, fob, panic button, glass break sensor, smoke alarm and siren needs a HomeBase (2, 3, Mini or the S1; hub firmware minimums apply). One caveat: eufy hasn't consistently published HomeBase Mini support for the Keypad E10 or the Glass Break Sensor E10, so message us before pairing either with a Mini.
Do standalone eufy cameras still need Wi-Fi?
Yes. Every standalone eufy camera and doorbell here connects to your home Wi-Fi and the eufy Security app. “Standalone” means no HomeBase is needed, not no internet. The exceptions: the PoE range is wired Ethernet, the baby monitors (C10, E20 and E21) work on their own parent screens with no Wi-Fi, and SmartTrack tags run on Apple Find My through an iPhone.
How many devices does the HomeBase Professional S1 support?
eufy publishes a 70+ device compatibility list for the S1. It runs up to 16 cameras or doorbells in total (up to 4 of them on its PoE ports) plus 34 sensors and accessories, with 32 GB built-in storage expandable to 16 TB.
Which cameras does the eufy 3W Solar Panel (T8705) support?
The T8705 has a 2 m USB-C cable and plugs directly into eufyCam S3 Pro, eufyCam 3 (S330), SoloCam S340 and SoloCam S230. eufy AU also lists eufyCam 2, 2 Pro, 2C and 2C Pro, but those older cameras use Micro-USB and need the correct weather-sealed adapter. The adapter is not included with CamGuard's current no-box T8705 stock.
Does the eufy Wall Light Cam S4 need a HomeBase?
No. It records 4K clips to 32 GB of built-in storage on its own, running on solar and a 10,000 mAh battery. A HomeBase 3 (S380) is optional for hub storage and BionicMind AI, and eufy has not published HomeBase Mini, HomeBase 2 or Professional S1 support, so ask us before planning those.
Does the eufy Smart Lock E40 need a HomeBase?
No. It runs on your Wi-Fi with the eufy app and keeps footage on 32 GB built into the lock, so there is nothing extra to buy. eufy lists HomeBase 3, HomeBase Mini and the HomeBase Professional S1 as optional hubs; it can't sit on a HomeBase 3 and another smart home gateway at the same time.
Can I add the eufy PoE Bullet-PTZ Cam E50 to my HomeBase 3?
No. The E50 is a wired PoE camera that records to a eufy NVR, and eufy's own FAQ says it will not connect to HomeBase 2 or HomeBase 3. If you want to add a camera to a HomeBase 3, choose one of the battery or Wi-Fi models instead.
Can I use HomeBase Mini with an eufyCam 2C, 2C Pro or E40?
Yes for eufyCam 2C (T8113): HomeBase Mini is supported according to eufy's Complete HomeBase Compatibility Guide. The 2C still needs a compatible HomeBase to operate; it cannot work standalone. For 2C Pro (T8142) and battery E40 (T8144), check before ordering because the published guidance remains unresolved; do not transfer the 2C answer to those models.
