This E40 is new and never used — not refurbished, not renewed, not restored. Never mounted, never cabled, never pointed at anyone's driveway.
So where's the box? It came out of a multi-camera system pack. We buy eufy kits, split them into single cameras and pass the kit saving on, which means the individual retail colour box never existed for this unit. That's why we list it as "New No Box" rather than "Brand New" — that phrase should mean factory-sealed in its own retail packaging, and we'd rather be accurate than flattering.
You still get the full accessory set. It just arrives in plain protective packaging instead of a printed carton, which is a distinction your roof cavity will not notice.

Detail that survives the zoom.
4K Ultra HD through an F1.6 / 2.8 mm lens — a genuinely fast aperture that pulls in light most cameras waste. Plus 5× digital zoom and HDR to stop a bright sky blowing out everything under it.
Power over Ethernet
One cable does both jobs.
Power and data travel down the same ethernet run from the NVR. No power point at the camera end, no plug pack in the weather, no sparky needed for a GPO up in the eaves. Run the cable, plug it in, it wakes up.
24/7 Recording
No gaps. No "it didn't trigger".
Because it's wired, it records continuously to the NVR rather than waking up mid-event. The thirty seconds before something happened are usually the thirty seconds that matter — and they're on the drive.

Colour in almost no light.
The fast F1.6 lens plus AI image processing keeps colour in scenes lit only by a streetlight or a neighbour's sensor light. Colour matters — "dark hatchback" is worth more to a report than "grey shape".
Spotlight + Infrared
Bright when you want it. Invisible when you don't.
Switch on the spotlight for full colour in total darkness — it doubles as a deterrent. Or run infrared for black-and-white footage that doesn't announce where the camera is looking.

Flashing red and blue LEDs and a siren, triggered by AI risk detection or fired manually from the eufy Security app. Subtle it is not. Very few people hang around for the second flash to see how committed it is.
The pitch
The camera takes ten minutes. The cable is the afternoon. Everybody who's done it knows which half is the actual job.
Somewhere in every wired install there's a moment where you're flat on your stomach in a roof cavity in February, torch in your teeth, insulation down your collar, yelling "have you got it?" at someone standing comfortably in the shade holding the other end. That's the tax. Pay it once.
Because what you get afterwards is a camera that never needs charging, never drops off the Wi-Fi at the worst possible moment, and never quietly stops recording because a battery hit 2%. One cable from the NVR carries the power and the video. There's nothing else to maintain.
The E40 is the bullet — the traditional CCTV shape that mounts under an eave and points where you aim it. F1.6 lens for the dark, IP67 for the wet, AI that knows a person from a possum, and red-and-blue strobes for anyone who needs the hint delivered loudly.
It's the camera for people who've moved on from "I should get a camera" to "I want a system I never think about again."

This is the big one. The E40 is an add-on camera and eufy states it works only with the eufy NVR. No NVR, no camera — it won't run standalone, it won't join your Wi-Fi, and it won't pair with a HomeBase. The NVR is not included in this listing.

I can physically run an ethernet cable to the camera spot.
PoE means one cable from the NVR to the camera — but somebody has to run it. Through the roof cavity, along the eave, down a wall, into conduit. Plenty of people DIY it; plenty of people call a cabler. Either way it's a bigger job than mounting a battery camera on a bracket.

I know it records at 20 fps, not 30 or 60.
eufy's own spec sheet lists 20 frames per second. For property surveillance that's completely normal and looks fine. If you were expecting broadcast-smooth motion for fast action, this is the honest heads-up.

I understand storage lives on the NVR, not the camera.
There's no microSD slot on the E40. Everything records to the NVR's drive. That's how the 24/7 continuous recording works, but it does mean the NVR is the single place your footage lives.

I don't need Apple Home.
Amazon Alexa and Google Home are supported. Apple Home is not. If your household runs on HomeKit, this is a dealbreaker worth knowing now.

I want a fixed camera, not a PTZ.
The E40 is a fixed bullet. You mount it, aim it, and it stays aimed. It has 5× digital zoom but no motorised pan, tilt or optical zoom. If you want the camera to physically follow things, look at eufy's PoE Bullet-PTZ S4 range instead.

I'm not planning to run it on a HomeBase Professional S1.
Straight answer: we can't confirm it. eufy's own E40 page says the camera works with the eufy NVR S4. eufy separately says the HomeBase Professional S1 can take PoE cameras via a PoE switch, but doesn't list the E40 among them. We won't promise a combination the manufacturer hasn't published — if that's your plan, check with eufy first, and don't buy this on our say-so.

- ✗ You want wireless and battery-powered. This is wired PoE, deliberately. If you want no cable at all, the eufyCam and SoloCam ranges are the ones to look at.
- ✗ You can't get a cable to where the camera needs to go. There's no wireless workaround — PoE means a physical run, full stop.
- ✗ You need Apple Home. Alexa and Google only.
- ✗ You want pan, tilt and optical zoom. The E40 is fixed — aim it once and that's where it looks.
- ✗ You want the sealed retail carton and the unboxing. This is New No Box: the camera is untouched, the printed box isn't there.

Getting started
The route map.
Four waypoints. Three of them are the cable. The camera part takes about ten minutes.

Plan the run before you touch anything.
Walk it first: NVR to camera position, and how the cable actually gets there — roof cavity, eave, wall cavity, conduit. Measure it and add slack. Ethernet is good for about 100 m, so distance is rarely the problem; access usually is.

Pull the cable, then test it before you climb down.
Run Cat5e or Cat6 from the NVR to the camera point. Test the run while the ladder is still up and the cavity hatch is still open — troubleshooting a dead cable is dramatically easier before everything is packed away and the roof insulation is back in place.

Mount, seal, connect.
Fix the bracket with the supplied screws and anchors, fit the waterproof cover over the connection, aim the camera, and plug the other end into a PoE port on the NVR. That one cable now carries power and video. The camera boots by itself.

Set it up in the app.
Open the eufy Security app — the NVR picks up the new camera on its own. Set your activity zones, detection types, night-vision mode and alert schedule. It's recording from the moment it's connected.
Hard-won tips: use Cat6 so you never have to do this again. Run it in conduit if it's exposed. Leave a service loop at the camera end. And do the whole job before lunch in February — roof cavities in North Queensland are not an afternoon activity.
