A few useful answers.
Why does the box say Solo S3?
eufy uses both names in its own documentation: SoloCam S340 in its HomeBase compatibility guide and eufyCam Solo S3 in its compatible-device documents. Both are listed as T8170. Your camera comes in SoloCam S3 packaging and is the same T8170 model sold as SoloCam S340.
We have not found an official explanation for eufy’s choice of two names. This is not the separate eufyCam S3 Pro model.
Is this camera refurbished?
No. This is Open Box stock: new, never used, with opened retail packaging. It is a different condition from our Manufacturer Renewed listings.
Will it work without a HomeBase?
Yes. It connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and records motion clips to its own 8 GB storage. A compatible HomeBase is optional.
Can it record all day and night?
It can record detected motion during the day and at night, but it does not support continuous 24/7 recording. Solar charging does not change the recording mode.
When will my order leave Townsville?
We do our best to get orders out the same day. Same-day to 1 business day is our typical dispatch time. During busy periods it can take longer, though that is rare. Delivery time is additional.

Automatic motion tracking turns the head towards what moves. It looks one way at a time, so anything behind it isn’t in the shot.
Standing instruction: mount it with its back to a wall, like any sensible witness. Then the 5° it can’t turn to is just brickwork.
