eufy HomeBase 2 vs 3 vs Mini: which hub do you need?
Start with the cameras you own, then choose the hub. HomeBase 2, HomeBase 3 and HomeBase Mini have different storage options and device support. A bigger number or a newer box is not enough to confirm a match.
HomeBase 2 vs HomeBase 3 vs HomeBase Mini
These are the useful storage differences. Compatibility still needs a separate check for your exact camera model. For eufyCam C35, eufy currently lists HomeBase Mini and HomeBase S380 as compatible, and HomeBase 2 as incompatible; treat that as a model-specific rule, not a shortcut for every camera.

Storage capacity does not translate into a fixed number of days for every household. Camera count, resolution, clip length and activity all affect how much footage you can keep. An expandable hub also does not turn a battery camera into a continuous-recording camera.
- Match the devicesList each model code and confirm the hub can run it. A camera that needs a HomeBase and a standalone camera with optional hub storage are different starting points.
- Check the featureConfirm recording mode, AI and smart-home support for that combination. A successful pairing does not establish every feature.
- Size the storageChoose the hub and any extra storage together. More capacity can retain more footage; it cannot change the camera's recording mode.
Which setup are you building?
Replacing an existing HomeBase
Read the model name on your current hub and the model codes on your cameras. Check the exact combination in our eufy compatibility checker before choosing a replacement. If the current system meets your needs, compare like-for-like replacement options before paying for features you will not use. Adding an eufyCam 2C camera
The eufyCam 2C (T8113) is an add-on camera: it needs a compatible HomeBase to operate. The camera alone is not a complete system. eufy's current compatibility guide lists HomeBase 2, HomeBase 3 and HomeBase Mini for the 2C; match the model and keep firmware current before pairing. An individual camera does not include a hub unless its listing says so.
The 2C records motion-triggered clips, not 24/7 footage. Its 1080p camera does not become a higher-resolution camera when you add HomeBase 3. If you use Apple HomeKit, confirm that feature separately before changing hubs. See the eufyCam 2C model guide and current offers and eufy's 2C FAQ.

Adding an eufyCam 3 (S330) camera
The eufyCam 3 S330 is the 4K camera with integrated solar charging. An add-on camera needs a compatible HomeBase, which is sold separately unless the listing explicitly includes one. It is a different product from the S330 video doorbell or S330 4G camera. Match the full name and model, not just “S330”.

Choosing a standalone SoloCam S340
The SoloCam S340 can operate without a HomeBase and has 8GB of built-in storage. HomeBase 3 is an optional route to hub storage and supported BionicMind features. The S340 remains a motion-event camera when paired to HomeBase 3. Starting with eufyCam C35
An individual C35 camera and a C35 kit are different purchases. Our white C35 add-on listing explains the camera's standalone and recording options. The white C35 two-camera kit includes a HomeBase Mini. Read the included-items list before adding a separate hub to your basket.
Considering HomeBase Professional S1
This is a separate option for customers who need its supported PoE connections and storage features. Check the exact market version as well as camera compatibility. CamGuard's last Professional S1 stock was a US-market T9000121 unit with an Australian-pattern power lead added separately. Treat cellular backup as unavailable for that offer, and read the Wi-Fi channel notes before buying.
Moving from HomeBase 2 to HomeBase 3
- Save important clips first. Download recordings you need to keep through the eufy app before making changes.
- Check the migration option. eufy's One-Tap Migration supports selected devices, including the 2C. Its instructions require both hubs to use wired connections on the same local network and remain powered and online.
- Follow the app and verify the result. The documented process can transfer supported devices, configuration and video data. Check playback, camera connections, recording settings and notifications on HomeBase 3 before retiring or resetting HomeBase 2. If the option is unavailable, confirm the appropriate steps with eufy support.

Plan storage before installing the hub
For HomeBase 3, eufy specifies a compatible 2.5-inch SATA HDD or SSD, up to 16TB, with a maximum peak power of 6W (5V/1.2A). Back up anything already on the drive: the hub formats it before recording. Power off the hub before fitting the drive and use eufy's installation instructions.
For HomeBase Mini, plan for its 8GB built-in storage and an optional microSD card up to 1TB. For HomeBase 2, plan around its fixed 16GB. Read the offer's contents before buying a drive or card separately.
Start with how many cameras you will use and whether they record short events or continuous footage. Check actual storage use after installation and download clips you need to keep. Avoid choosing a hub on an advertised number of days alone.

Four checks before you buy
- Match every device. Confirm each camera, doorbell and sensor separately. Shared branding does not guarantee shared compatibility.
- Check the exact feature. Pairing, storage, AI and recording modes are different questions. Confirm the feature you need on your chosen combination.
- Read the contents and condition. New No Box describes new, unused equipment without its retail box. Manufacturer Renewed is a separate condition category. The individual listing specifies accessories and grade.

Common HomeBase questions
Does every eufy camera need a HomeBase?
No. Requirements vary by model. Some work independently, while others need a hub. Check both operation and recording requirements in the exact product listing.
Is HomeBase Mini just a smaller HomeBase 3?
No. They have different storage arrangements and supported-device lists. Mini uses 8GB built-in storage with microSD expansion; HomeBase 3 uses 16GB built-in storage with compatible drive expansion. Choose by your devices and recording needs.
Does eufyCam C35 work with HomeBase 2?
No. eufy's current C35 guidance lists HomeBase Mini and HomeBase S380, not HomeBase 2. Check the exact camera model and firmware before buying a replacement hub.
Do I need a subscription for local recordings?
Local storage can avoid an ongoing cloud-storage plan on supported setups. Optional cloud services and premium features may carry charges. Check the features you intend to use instead of treating “no monthly fee” as a promise about every feature.
Where can I check the current compatibility?
