Does the S220 need a HomeBase?
No. It connects directly to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and records motion clips to its own 8 GB storage. A HomeBase 3 is the documented optional pairing; HomeBase 2 and HomeBase Mini are not confirmed for this model, so check with us before relying on a migration.
Does it require a monthly subscription?
No subscription is required for core app use and local event recording. A free eufy account, the eufy Security app and an internet connection are still used for setup and remote access.
Will it connect to a combined 2.4/5 GHz network name?
It can. The camera itself uses 2.4 GHz. Try pairing on the combined network first and separate the bands only if setup fails.
Does it record in colour at night?
No. It has infrared monochrome night vision, four 850 nm IR LEDs and no spotlight. Choose a different model if colour night footage is essential.
Can it record continuously?
No. This battery model records motion-triggered event clips. It does not support continuous 24/7 recording or pre-buffered footage.
What happens if Wi-Fi drops out?
The S220 can continue detecting motion and recording events locally. You cannot view those clips remotely until the connection returns.
Does solar mean I will never charge it?
No guarantee. eufy estimates that about three hours of daily direct sunlight can maintain average use under optimal Australian conditions. Shade, weather, motion traffic, live viewing and settings all affect the result.
When will CamGuard dispatch it?
Typical dispatch is the same day to one business day from Townsville, Queensland. Busy periods can occasionally stretch that. Australia Post Express is included on orders over $99 under the current shipping policy.
