Compatibility: Battery doorbell that works on its own - records to a microSD card (up to 128 GB, sold separately). No chime in the box: pair eufy Chime 2 (T8026), MiniBase Chime (T8023), a HomeBase or an Alexa Echo speaker (Google speakers cannot act as its chime). Optional hub pairing: HomeBase 2, 3, Mini or Professional S1.

Callers ahead of you

Hi, I am HOLDBOT. I can help with billing, password resets and links to articles you have already read. The C30 does none of that. It recognises a person at your door and rings the actual decision-maker: you, in a live video call, with nobody ahead of you.

Standalone: 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi + microSD up to 128 GB

The C30 records event clips to its own card with no HomeBase and no monthly plan. The card is not in the carton.

Operational
HomeBase mini · HomeBase 2 · HomeBase 3

eufy's compatibility guide lists all three as supported for T8224. Pairing is a choice for extra storage, not a requirement.

Optional
MiniBase Chime T8023

The indoor chime eufy names for the C30. A supported HomeBase speaker or an Alexa announcement can also make noise inside the house.

Add-on
Your existing wired chime · Wi-Fi Chime T8020 · Chime T8740 / T8742

eufy lists every one of these as not compatible with the C30. A familiar product name does not change the routing.

Alexa and Google Assistant

Both are supported for voice and announcements. Apple HomeKit is not, and rephrasing the request will not change that.

Operational
5 GHz-only Wi-Fi

The C30 joins 2.4 GHz only. A dual-band router is fine if its 2.4 GHz band is switched on and visible.

The notes you were never meant to read.

HOLDBOT writes the public reply. A human adds the internal note. On this desk you get both, because a camera records events rather than preventing them, and you should know exactly what it does before you pay for it.

Great news! The C30 supports a wide range of indoor chime options.
No chime is in the box. The phone is the alert. Indoor sound means adding a MiniBase Chime T8023, a supported HomeBase speaker or an Alexa announcement. Delete "wide range".
Flexible power options let you install the C30 wherever suits you!
Battery only. Built-in 5,000 mAh, charged by USB-C after you lift the whole doorbell off its bracket. No wired mode at any voltage. Wiring is the C31's ticket.
The C30 connects seamlessly to your home network.
2.4 GHz only. A 5 GHz-only network gets nothing. Most routers broadcast both, so switch the 2.4 GHz band on before the customer rings us from the driveway.
Enjoy comprehensive recording of everything that happens at your door.
Event clips only. Motion, human and ring events. No continuous recording, no pre-recording, no ONVIF. eufy keeps those two features for the C31.
Getting started is easy, no account needed!
The eufy Security app and an account are required. That is the one form this desk cannot waive. Local storage itself needs no monthly plan.
Storage is included so you can start recording right away.
Bring the microSD card. Up to 128 GB and not in the carton, or pair a HomeBase mini, 2 or 3. Clips are AES 256-bit encrypted before they reach local storage.
With the C30 installed, your home is completely
Stop that sentence. A camera shows, alerts, records and lets you talk. It does not prevent anything, and we will not write that it does.

Call recording · this call may be recorded, by you

You decide how the call ends.

The C30 does not negotiate with visitors on your behalf. It supplies the picture, the alert and the audio path; the human on the phone decides whether to engage. Fewer escalation loops that way.

RecogniseA label, not an identity. Human recognition separates a person from general motion. It does not know their name, their employer or whether "just a quick question" is accurate.
InspectOpen the live image. The 16:9 expanded view gives you the context around the button. You make the familiar-face call, not a fictional biometric desk.
ConnectTwo-way talk. Phone and doorbell carry the conversation when both have connectivity and the app has microphone permission. No headset, no recorded disclaimer.
RespondPick a Quick Response. Good for parcels and people you would rather not perform for. It delivers the sentence; it cannot make the courier read it.
DeferAllow a voice memo. A missed ring becomes a message instead of a case titled "unknown person near pot plant".
ArchiveReview it later. Local storage holds the clip when configured. A recording documents what the camera saw; it does not undo the visit.

Troubleshooting · steps we make you complete before you may speak to a human

Resolve setup on first contact.

  1. Charge before the bracket.Open the rear port seal, connect the Type-C cable indoors and fill it to full. Meeting the low-battery notification straight after mounting is a ticket nobody wants.

  2. Add the C30 in the eufy Security app.Create or sign in to the required account, pick the model and follow the prompts near your router on the 2.4 GHz band. The 5 GHz queue has no agent.

  3. Prepare event storage.Insert a microSD card up to 128 GB or pair a HomeBase mini, 2 or 3. Trigger motion and confirm the clip reaches Event History while the doorbell is still within reach.

  4. Mount for people, not brickwork.Use the standard bracket or the 15-degree mount. A side wall too close reflects night vision, so angle away from it before your night feed becomes a documentary about masonry.

The clauses that stay visible.

CLAUSE 1

Shipping and dispatch

Australia Post Express included on every order over $99.00. Under $99.00, tracked delivery is $9.95 and the Express upgrade is $12.95.

We do our best to get orders out the same day. Same day to 1 business day is our typical dispatch time from Townsville, Queensland; during busy periods it can extend, though that is rare. Tracking is always supplied.

CLAUSE 2

Change of mind

Return an unused, complete, resaleable order within 30 days of delivery for a refund. You cover the return postage, and the original delivery charge is not refunded.

Faulty or not as described: we cover the return postage. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

CLAUSE 3

Warranty identity

We provide our own 12-month warranty and handle claims ourselves. It is not a manufacturer warranty.

It sits alongside the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, which this clause cannot and does not reduce.

CLAUSE 4

Who you are buying from

CamGuard Australia, Townsville, Queensland. We independently import genuine eufy products and resell them. We are not an authorised eufy dealer and have no endorsement from eufy or Anker Innovations.

Product names and trademarks belong to their owners and appear here for identification.

Live chat transcript · a human answers each line, eventually immediately

Six questions, zero transfers.

Does the C30 need a HomeBase before it will record anything?
No. Give it 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and a microSD card up to 128 GB and it records event clips on its own, with no monthly plan. HomeBase mini, HomeBase 2 and HomeBase 3 are listed by eufy as compatible and add storage if you want it. The card is not supplied in the carton.
What actually rings inside the house when the button is pressed?
Your phone, through the eufy Security app. There is no indoor chime in the box and the C30 will not drive an existing wired chime. For sound inside, add a MiniBase Chime T8023, a supported HomeBase speaker or an Alexa announcement. eufy lists the T8020 and T8740/T8742 chimes as not compatible.
Is there a wiring option hidden somewhere in the installation menu?
No. T8224 is the battery-only C30: a built-in 5,000 mAh battery, charged over USB-C once the whole doorbell comes off the bracket with the detaching pin. It does not accept hardwired power. If wires matter to you, the C31 is the related model to look at, on its own listing.
Does it record continuously, or capture the moments before a person appears?
Neither. The C30 records event clips for motion, recognised humans and rings. eufy keeps continuous recording and pre-recording for the C31, and neither model supports ONVIF. Live view and two-way talk are available any time through the app; the recording itself stays event based.
Why do some older pages quote 4:3 or a wide field-of-view figure?
Because they were written about other eufy doorbells. eufy's current C30 page describes 2K FHD with a 16:9 expanded view and publishes no field-of-view figure for T8224, so neither do we. A correct article beats a familiar one, even when the familiar one has more views.
How fast does it ship, and who handles a fault?
We do our best to dispatch the same day, and same day to 1 business day is typical from Townsville. During busy periods it can extend, though that is rare, and tracking is always supplied. Faults come to our own 12-month warranty desk, not the manufacturer's, and we cover return postage for faulty or misdescribed items. Your Australian Consumer Law rights remain.
