eufy's published assumption is around two hours of direct sunlight daily under optimal conditions. Shade, weather, temperature, event load and settings affect the result.
Fully charge by USB-C before first installation. Deep shade can mean occasional manual charging or a better panel position.
Test the lot before unlocking the ladder.
Confirm smooth live view on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi at the exact mounting point. Walls, metal and distance matter more than a router's optimistic marketing range.
The eufy Security app and account are required for setup and normal app features.

Does the E42 need a HomeBase?
No. It can connect directly to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi router and record events to a compatible microSD card up to 128 GB. HomeBase 2 and HomeBase 3 are optional and sold separately.
What exactly arrives?
The E42 camera, camera mounting bracket, camera positioning sticker, camera screw pack, USB-C charging cable, solar panel, solar mounting bracket, solar positioning sticker, solar screw pack and printed Quick Start Guide. Only the original retail carton is omitted.
Is a microSD card included?
No. Add a compatible microSD card up to 128 GB for standalone local event recording. A HomeBase is also optional and not included.
Does solar mean it never needs manual charging?
No. eufy's published assumption is around two hours of direct sunlight per day under optimal conditions. Shade, weather, temperature, event activity and settings affect the result.
Can it record continuously?
Ordinary solar/battery operation is designed for event recording. eufy's current specification says 24/7 recording requires continuous wired power and HomeBase 3 with a compatible hard drive installed.
Do the siren and strobe guarantee a security outcome?
No outcome is promised. They are configurable visible and audible deterrent tools. A camera records, alerts and lets you respond; it does not replace appropriate physical security or emergency services.
What does local recording cost each month?
There is no required monthly subscription for core camera operation or local microSD recording. Optional cloud or third-party services, if chosen, can have their own terms and charges.
When will CamGuard Australia dispatch it?
We do our best to dispatch the same day. Same-day to one business day is typical from Townsville, with occasional extension during unusually busy periods.
