The camera itself is unused, never powered on, never paired — in pristine factory condition. The only thing that's not "brand new" is the original retail packaging, which has been opened at some point along the way (retailer returns, shelf-pulled stock, kit-splits, that sort of thing).

Human detection runs on the camera itself — not in eufy's cloud. Faster notifications (about a second from detection to phone ping), more private (footage doesn't leave the device unless you stream it on purpose), and the model self-trains over normal use to around 99% accuracy. It knows the difference between a person, a car driving past, a swaying tree branch, and the local possum doing its 2am rounds — which is, frankly, more than some doorbell cams can claim. You get pinged when a human walks through. Not when a moth crosses the lens.
Engineered for a -20 °C to 60 °C operating range. A Queensland summer storm, a Tasmanian winter morning, a Top End wet-season downpour, a Perth heatwave — keeps watching through all of it. IP67 specifically means it can take a brief dunking and still work, so the answer to "will it survive my dodgy fascia where the gutter overflows every March" is yes. Two-way audio is built in, too — for the times you want to politely tell an intruder where they can go. Or, more politely, where to leave the parcel.

No paywall quietly turning on after the first 12 months. No "oh sorry, your free tier just expired" email three years in. Just local storage and an app, both included with the price you paid.
eufy do offer optional cloud backup if you want extra redundancy. We don't push it. We don't really even mention it. The camera works perfectly without, and most owners never bother — the local storage rolls over, and the events that matter usually get reviewed within days, not months.
