Does HomeBase 3 include a hard drive?
No. It includes 16GB of built-in eMMC storage, but a 2.5-inch expansion HDD or SSD is not supplied. If you add one, use a compatible 5V 2.5-inch SATA drive, power the HomeBase off first, secure it with the supplied screws and initialise it in the app.
Will every eufy camera pair with it?
No. Compatibility is controlled by the exact device model, region and current firmware. A shared eufy family name is not enough. Check the current official HomeBase 3 compatibility matrix before ordering, update the hub and device firmware, and remember that supported features can differ even when basic pairing is available.
Is a monthly subscription required?
No required monthly fee applies to core local recording on compatible devices. The system can store supported footage on the built-in storage or an added compatible drive. eufy may separately offer cloud or premium services that cost extra, but those optional services are not included in this sealed HomeBase 3 box.
Can it run over Wi-Fi only?
The initial setup uses the supplied Ethernet cable to connect HomeBase 3 to your router. Current product information also lists 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connectivity after setup. Network topology, app version and firmware matter, so follow the current in-app instructions rather than unplugging the cable before the system says the wireless route is ready.
How many devices can it manage?
The current listing states up to 16 supported cameras and doorbells plus up to 34 supported sensors, for 50 devices in total. That is a capacity ceiling, not universal compatibility. Exact models, firmware and available functions remain controlling, and performance also depends on recording settings, network conditions and storage configuration.
What does BionicMind actually guarantee?
It does not guarantee perfect identification. BionicMind is eufy's local AI platform for supported recognition, classification and event features. Camera angle, lighting, training data, image quality and firmware affect the result.
