Case no. S230 · also known as S40
eufy SoloCam S230 · Manufacturer Renewed · Good ConditionUsed, with visible cosmetic wear · Our own 12-month warranty
The Great Beige Robbery. A colour thief flees with paint swatches while the eufy S230 brings a miniature side gate into colour with its spotlight. Manufacturer Renewed, Good. Illustrative concept, not camera footage.
A fictional caper, starring a real camera. Artwork and miniature scenes are illustrations, not camera footage or measured performance comparisons. Product photographs show the model; this renewed unit will have cosmetic wear.

01 / The missing colours department

Last seen:
just before dark.

The red watering can. The teal pot. That spectacularly questionable yellow chair. Darkness has made the lot look suspiciously similar.

The eufy SoloCam S230 pairs 2K video with a built-in spotlight for colour night vision. Its solar panel tops up the battery in suitable sun, and event recordings stay in its built-in local storage.

Beige has some explaining to do.

REDWATERING CAN
Not beige.
TEALGARDEN POT
Also not beige.
YELLOWCHAIR
An acquired taste.

Three colours. One very dull alibi.

02 / Bring in the light

600 lm

Darkness dislikes
a follow-up question.

The motion-activated spotlight supports colour night vision. Adjust its brightness and colour temperature in the eufy Security app to suit the space.

Prefer a darker yard? Infrared night vision is available too. Colour needs useful light; the actual result depends on distance, movement and your surroundings.

The pot would like its teal back.

Switch on the illustrated spotlight

Colour has returned to this drawing. This is a playful illustration of the feature, not a simulation of camera output.

Interactive illustration. A garden drama with a very small cast.

The actual model. No trench coat.

03 / Details, please

2K.
Less squint.

2K resolution gives you more image detail than standard 1080p. The wide 135° field of view helps cover a yard, gate or garage approach.

Digital zoom can enlarge what was recorded. It cannot invent a number plate, sharpen every moving face or do that thing from crime shows.

“Enhance!” is still mostly a television hobby.

Position and lighting matter. Check the live view before making the mounting holes permanent.

04 / Day shift

The sun.
Finally on
the payroll.

The solar panel is built into the camera. eufy recommends at least two hours of direct sunlight a day to maintain charge under normal usage.

It charges a built-in 13,400mAh battery. Shade, short winter days, frequent events and settings all affect the balance. A manual USB-C top-up may still be needed.

A nice shady corner is a poor solar career move.

No separate solar panel is required. The roof already has a job.

eufy manufacturer photograph showing the S230 mounted outdoors with its integrated solar panel facing open sky
Direct sun. Not optimistic shade.
Less ladder time is the aim. “Never charge again” is not a promise.
No rent on the evidence

05 / The local records office

8GB.
On the camera.

Built-in 8GB eMMC local storage keeps event recordings on the S230. Its core local recording features do not require a monthly subscription.

Storage is finite. How much history fits depends on activity and clip settings. This is event recording, not continuous 24/7 video.

The filing cabinet has declined a direct debit.

A decorative film reel, because a drawing of flash memory has limited dramatic range.

No memory card neededNo HomeBase required for standalone use

06 / A slightly unusual line-up

Person.
Probably worth a look.

On-device AI human detection helps reduce irrelevant motion alerts. Set activity zones to focus attention on the part of the picture that matters.

A PERSON
Has places to be.
A BUSH
Very local suspect.
A CAT
Declined to comment.

Detection can miss events or send false alerts. Adjust sensitivity and zones, then test them at the actual location. The illustrated line-up is not a test result.

The hedge has an excellent alibi. Rooted to the spot.

07 / A word from the house

“Just by
the gate,
thanks.”

Example conversation. No parcel was interrogated.

Two-way audio.
One voice at a time.

Speak and listen through the camera using the app. Communication is half-duplex, so you take turns rather than talking over each other.

Useful for a delivery instruction or checking who's there. Less useful for a competitive family argument.

Over. Not “over each other”.

A built-in siren is also available. A camera can help you monitor and respond; it cannot guarantee that an incident will be prevented.

08 / The weather has entered the chat

IP67.
Rain happens.

The S230 is rated IP67 for dust and water resistance, with a published operating range of −20°C to 50°C.

Fit it as instructed and close the charging-port cover securely. The weather rating is not an invitation to pressure-wash it or install it in a swimming pool.

A camera. Not a small white submarine.

09 / The condition report, in plain sight

This exact offer

GOOD.

Manufacturer Renewed
Used, not brand new.

Visible cosmetic wear
Renewed non-retail packaging

A past life.
Declared, not mysterious.

This is a used camera that has been refurbished and tested through the manufacturer's renewal process. Good Condition means visible cosmetic wear, such as marks or scuffs, should be expected.

It is supplied in renewed non-retail packaging. Manufacturer and illustrative images show the model and features, not the exact cosmetic appearance of the unit you receive.

It carries CamGuard Australia's own 12-month warranty, not a manufacturer warranty. Your Australian Consumer Law rights also apply.

The housing may have stories. We've listed the relevant ones.

The camera

This renewed offer includes one SoloCam S230 camera. It is not a sealed retail kit.

The loose mounting hardware, USB-C charging cable and printed guide are not confirmed for this renewed offer. If an accessory is essential to your setup, ask us to confirm it before ordering.

No box-content clairvoyance. Sorry about that.

The integrated solar panel is part of the camera. It hasn't wandered off into a separate carton.

The question marks are doing useful work.

11 / A three-stop reconnaissance mission

Before the drill
gets involved.

1

Find the sun.

Choose a position that gives the integrated panel direct sun and the camera a useful view. Eaves are excellent at keeping sun off things. That's the complication.

2

Check 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.

The camera connects to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. It does not connect to a 5GHz-only network. Test signal where it will actually sit; the lounge room's result cannot travel on its behalf.

3

Test. Then mount.

Use the eufy Security app to check the live view, alerts and audio. Confirm suitable mounting hardware first. A pencil mark is cheaper to reconsider than a hole.

No HomeBase is needed for standalone operation. “Solo” has brought its own stationery.

Model specifications are from eufy's S40/S230 product and support information. Real-world charging, recording and detection depend on installation, settings, activity and conditions. No continuous 24/7 recording.

The numbers have been asked to stick to the facts.

13 / Questions from the gallery

Loose ends.
Tied up.

Is S230 the same camera as SoloCam S40?
Yes. eufy uses both names for this model. This offer is for one Manufacturer Renewed camera in Good Condition, with visible cosmetic wear. Two names, one camera. No identity crisis in the box.
Will it stay charged entirely from the sun?
That depends on its location, settings, activity and the weather. eufy recommends at least two hours of direct sun each day under normal use. Manual USB-C charging may still be necessary. “Solar” doesn't mean “immune to shade”.
Do I need a HomeBase or a subscription?
The S230 works directly with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and does not require a HomeBase for standalone use. Core local recording does not require a subscription. If you want to add it to an existing hub setup, confirm compatibility with your exact hub and current firmware before ordering.
Does it record continuously?
No. This battery-powered model records events; it is not a continuous 24/7 recorder. How much event history fits in 8GB depends on clip settings and activity. The film reel above is strictly in the art department.
What does Good Condition actually mean?
It is used, manufacturer refurbished and tested, with visible cosmetic marks or scuffs expected. It arrives in renewed non-retail packaging. Images show the model, not the exact appearance of your unit. Our own 12-month warranty applies, alongside your Australian Consumer Law rights.
Are the mount and charging cable guaranteed?
No. This renewed offer confirms the camera; loose mounting hardware, a USB-C cable and printed instructions are not confirmed. Ask before ordering if an accessory is essential. We would rather answer a small question now than introduce a surprise later.
Will the camera stop an intruder?
No camera can guarantee that. The S230 can help you see, record, receive alerts and respond. Detection has limitations, and good placement matters. The colour thief in this design is fictional; the practical limits are real.

Case notes complete. Beige remains evasive.
