Included items: Read this listing's contents before choosing accessories. A condition grade alone does not tell you which parts or packaging are included.
Compatibility: Standalone Wi-Fi lock; no HomeBase required. HomeBase 3, HomeBase Mini and HomeBase Professional S1 connections are supported. HomeBase 3 and an external smart-home ecosystem gateway cannot be connected simultaneously. Matter carries lock functions, not camera streaming. Designed for standard US and Canadian single-cylinder deadbolts with 35–55 mm door thickness; compare the complete installation template with your Australian door before ordering. Facial recognition unlocks but does not lock.

Look at the camera.
Remove your hat. Stand on the footprints. The gate that stares back is now on your front door, and it has room for fifty of you.
Arrivals hall · three lanes, one door
Pick a lane. The lock has already picked you.
Walk up with the shopping. Keep walking.
The 60 GHz radar notices a person coming up the path and the doorbell button lights. Footprints, effectively. The 2K camera checks the face against the fifty enrolled on the lock. If you are one of them, the deadbolt pulls back before the bags reach the ground.
No phone out, no elbow on the keypad, no negotiating with a key while a child negotiates with you.

For when the camera has opinions about your new glasses.
Every gate has a second lane, and so does this lock. A fingerprint button on the keypad. A PIN typed on the keypad. A mechanical keyhole under the doorbell button cover, with keys in the box. Four ways in, and none of them involve a bloke in a van at eleven at night.
When the main battery runs low, the built-in 800 mAh backup keeps face, fingerprint and PIN unlocking going, and nothing else. The officer's lane stays open even when the lights are dimmed.

Someone's at the gate, and you are on the couch.
The E40 is a doorbell and a camera as well as a lock. Press the bell and the 2K, 135° head-to-toe view lands in the eufy app, with talk both ways through the lock's own microphone and speaker. An IR night vision light handles the after-dark arrivals.
Footage goes to the 32 GB inside the lock. There is no monthly storage fee for that function, no plan, no "your trial has ended" at the exact moment the courier appears.
Arrivals
Board updates as you arrive · figures are eufy's published onesQuarantine desk · motion detection
The beagle has been stood down.
Every arrivals hall has a beagle that finds the apple you forgot about. The E40 has a 60 GHz radar instead, and eufy says it picks out human motion while filtering out pets, small objects and wind. The possum, the wheelie bin and the cat from three doors up are cleared without a notification. The beagle can go back to fruit.
The radar is also what wakes the lock. Someone approaches, the doorbell button lights, the face check begins. You are on the footprints before you knew there were footprints.
Three words no Australian has heard on the first attempt. This one says them to fifty people, from the moment the shopping leaves the car.
Incoming door card
Complete before purchase. Answer honestly; the officer has seen every door in the country and has stopped being surprised. A crossed box is a stop. A tick is a wave-through.
Way out · four signs before the car park
Follow the yellow signs.

Nothing to declare
- 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi with WPA2 or better, straight to the router, no hub needed for that
- The eufy app, for live view, talk, faces, fingerprints, PINs and auto-lock
- HomeBase 3, HomeBase Mini and HomeBase Pro, if you want the lock in that family
- eufy smart displays
- Matter, carrying lock functions to Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa and SmartThings
- Single-cylinder deadbolts with a rectangular recess on 35 to 55 mm doors, 60 or 70 mm backset
Something to declare
- HomeBase 2. Not on eufy's list for this lock
- Mortise locks. The E40 replaces a deadbolt, not a mortise
- Round or non-standard faceplates, unless your package carries the optional round faceplate part
- 5 GHz-only Wi-Fi. The lock wants the 2.4 GHz band
- The camera stream over Matter. Video is in the eufy app only
- A HomeBase 3 and an external smart-home gateway hosting the lock at the same time
- Fast chargers. The manual says the battery does not support fast charging
Australian doors often carry a mortise lock or a bore that does not match the single-cylinder deadbolt this lock replaces. Before buying, measure the door thickness, the backset from the door edge to the centre of the bore, and check whether the recess is rectangular. The manual's step one has the dimensions. Ten minutes with a tape measure beats a return.
Referred to secondary. Probably not for you if:
- Your door has a mortise lock, or a deadbolt with a round faceplate and your package turns out not to include the adapter part.
- You want the face to lock the door on the way out. eufy says unlocking only.
- You want the camera feed inside Apple Home or Google Home. It lives in the eufy app.
- Your Wi-Fi is 5 GHz only and you cannot switch on a 2.4 GHz band.
- You want a HomeBase 2 to host it, or a HomeBase 3 and another gateway at once.
- You need a published fingerprint or PIN count before you commit. eufy has not printed one.
- You want a lock that promises to stop someone. It records and shows; the bolt is a bolt.
Priority lane. Made for:
- Households where both hands are always full: bags, bikes, babies, the esky.
- Homes with a cast of fifty: family, in-laws, the dog walker, the mate who is always around.
- People who want the footage on the device and not on a plan.
- Anyone with a 2.4 GHz network and a single-cylinder deadbolt, 60 or 70 mm backset, already on the door.
- A house that gets couriers, and wants to see the knock, or the lack of one, in 2K.
- Everyone who has stood at a real gate being told to take off their glasses, and wants a fingerprint button for exactly that moment.
Arrival sequence · one Phillips screwdriver
Five steps from the tray to the footprints.
Thickness 35 to 55 mm. Backset 60 or 70 mm. Recess rectangular, or your package has the round faceplate part. Check where the camera will be looking.
Fully, before first use, on a 5 V / 2 A charger. Eight to ten hours. No fast charging, so put the kettle on more than once.
Deadbolt and strike plate first, faceplate turned for a 70 mm backset. Then the exterior keypad, cables under the deadbolt, then the interior assembly and battery.
Add the lock in the eufy app, calibrate it, check the camera's field of view, then enrol faces, fingerprints and a PIN.
Confirm the bolt travels cleanly and every lane works before you shut the door behind you. The manual is short. Read all of it.
Screening · tray 40, please remove nothing

Shipping, returns and warranty
Australia Post Express is included on every order over $99.00. Orders under $99.00 add $9.95 flat tracked, or $12.95 for the Express upgrade.
We do our best to get orders out the same day. Same day to one business day is our typical dispatch time from Townsville, Queensland. During busy periods it can extend, though that is rare.
Change of mind: 30 days from delivery, item complete and unused. You pay the return postage and the original shipping is not refunded.
Faulty or not as described: we cover the return postage, and we sort it out with a repair, replacement or refund depending on the fault.
CamGuard Australia provides our own 12-month warranty on this lock. It is not a manufacturer warranty, and it sits alongside your rights under Australian Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded.
We do not open sealed units and do not claim we tested your individual lock. New means new.

A41Will it fit an Australian front door?
Some, not all. The E40 replaces a single-cylinder deadbolt on a 35 to 55 mm door with a 60 or 70 mm backset and a rectangular recess. Many Australian doors run a mortise lock or a different bore, and those are a no. Measure the thickness, the backset and the recess shape before you buy. If you send us those three numbers we will tell you straight, before any money moves.
A42Does the face work at night, or with sunglasses on?
The keypad has an IR night vision light, so the camera sees after dark. Sunglasses, hats and a new haircut are the same problem they are at any gate: the lock may want a second look. That is what the fingerprint button, the PIN and the keys are for. eufy suggests checking the camera's field of view in the app during setup so faces land where the lens expects them.
A43Do I need a HomeBase?
No. The lock connects straight to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and stores video on its own 32 GB, so nothing else is required for that arrangement. A HomeBase 3, HomeBase Mini or HomeBase Pro can host it if you already run one, with eufy's note that it cannot sit on a HomeBase 3 and an external smart-home gateway at the same time. HomeBase 2 is not on the list.
A44Is there a subscription?
Not for the storage function. Recordings go to the 32 GB inside the lock and eufy states no monthly fee for it. Storage is finite, so how long clips last depends on how busy your door is. Faces are stored on the lock as well, per eufy, rather than on a server somewhere with a free trial attached.
A45What happens when the battery goes flat?
Before it gets there, the 800 mAh backup takes over and keeps face, fingerprint and PIN unlocking going while everything else waits. There is also a mechanical keyhole under the doorbell button cover and an emergency power port on the keypad. Recharging the main pack takes eight to ten hours on a 5 V / 2 A charger, and fast charging is not supported.
A46How fast do you ship, and what does it cost?
Australia Post Express is included on orders over $99.00. Under that, $9.95 flat tracked or $12.95 for Express. We do our best to send the same day, and same day to one business day is typical from Townsville. During busy periods it can extend, though that is rare. You get tracking as soon as the label prints.
A47What if it stops recognising Grandma?
Re-enrol her. Up to fifty faces can be stored, and they can be updated in the app. Meanwhile Grandma has the officer's lane: a PIN she can remember, a fingerprint, or a key. The gate is meant to be the fast lane, not the only lane, and the lock is built the same way.
A48Is it really brand new?
Yes. Factory sealed in the original eufy retail box, imported and sold by us as an independent Australian reseller. We do not open sealed units and do not claim to have tested your individual lock. If it arrives faulty or not as described, our own 12-month warranty applies and we cover the return postage.

The paddles open for fifty faces, one fingerprint, one PIN or one key. Add it to the cart and take the priority lane home.
