The Good Room  ·  Manufacturer Renewed

The one room worth watching is the one nobody's allowed in.

The eufy Indoor Cam E30 in 4K UHD, with a 360° panoramic view, colour night vision and no subscription. Put it in the room with the good china, the plastic runner and the vacuum lines still in the pile — and finally find out what happens in there.

Manufacturer Renewed · Excellent

Straight up: this one has been sat on.

Every good room has a couch with a throw over it, protecting something that has quietly already been used. Same energy here, and we'd rather say it in the first breath than bury it in the fine print.

This is a Manufacturer Renewed eufy Indoor Cam E30, graded Excellent. It was previously used, then restored and tested through the manufacturer's own renewal programme — not by us, and we don't claim otherwise. Excellent grade means it presents close to new, though light handling marks are possible. It arrives in renewed, non-retail packaging rather than a sealed retail box.

Every figure above comes from eufy's own published material for the Indoor Cam E30.
The china cabinet

Behind glass, where the good things live.

The wedding crystal. The gravy boat used twice. And now, the features — each one on its own shelf, catching the light, absolutely not to be touched.

Shelf one

4K UHD, and a 360° panoramic view

eufy builds the E30 around 4K Ultra HD with a 125° diagonal field of view and a motorised head that gives a full 360° panoramic view of the room. One camera in the corner instead of three cameras pointing at the same rug.

Shelf two

It knows a person from the cat

eufy's AI-powered detection distinguishes humans, pets, crying sounds and other audio cues — so the alerts you get are the ones you'd have wanted. Less "the curtain moved", more "someone is in the good room".

Shelf three

Smart auto tracking

When motion is detected, eufy says the camera activates pan & tilt and rotates to follow the movement. Once the motion stops and nothing else happens for 30 seconds, it rotates back to its default position — tidy, like everything else in here.

Shelf four

Colour night vision, with a built-in spotlight

The E30 has colour night vision with a built-in spotlight, and you can switch between colour night vision and infrared night vision. eufy notes the spotlight doubles as a deterrent, which is more than the good lamp in the corner has ever done.

Shelf five

Two-way audio

Built-in two-way audio for real-time conversation. Useful for the dog on the good couch, for telling someone the kettle's boiled, and for the moment you realise the runner has been walked off.

Shelf six

Local storage. No monthly fee.

Footage stores locally to a microSD card (sold separately, up to 128GB). eufy states there are no subscription fees, with optional cloud storage if you want it. Already have a HomeBase 3 (S380)? eufy lists up to 16TB of storage through it — sold separately, and entirely optional. The camera runs on its own.

Behind the glass

Privacy Mode, when the room is back to being private

Privacy Mode is listed for this camera on eufy's own product page. eufy documents Privacy Mode this way: the camera automatically rotates to face the back and stops all recording and live streaming, and stays that way until you switch it off from the app. A camera that turns and looks at the wall is a very good-room way to behave.

The mantelpiece

The house rules card. Read before entering.

Handwritten, propped against the clock, and non-negotiable. Everything below is a real limitation — we'd rather you knew now than found out on a Tuesday.

House Rules
Nine of them. Nobody remembers who wrote rule four.
1

It has been used before. Condition

This is Manufacturer Renewed stock, graded Excellent. The unit was previously used, then restored and tested through the manufacturer's renewal programme. Excellent means it presents close to new — light handling marks are still possible, and we photograph the actual unit so you can see it before you buy.

2

The packaging is renewed, not retail.

Expect plain renewed packaging rather than a sealed retail box. It protects the camera perfectly well. It just won't look like a birthday.

3

Think about which room it goes in. Privacy

An indoor camera belongs in shared spaces — a lounge, a hallway, an entry, the room with the good china. It does not belong in a bathroom, a toilet, or a room where someone is a guest or a housemate rather than a household member, and pointing one at a neighbour's property through a window isn't on either. If other adults live there, tell them it's there and where it points. Privacy Mode exists for the times the room goes back to being private — use it without guilt.

4

It runs on mains power. There's no battery.

The E30 is a plug-in camera. eufy supplies a USB-C charging cable and a power adapter, and the camera has a power input port — so wherever you put it needs to be within reach of a power outlet. eufy's own installation guidance says exactly that.

5

Wi-Fi is 2.4GHz only.

eufy states the Indoor Cam E30 only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Nearly every home router broadcasts 2.4GHz, but if yours is set to 5GHz only, you'll need to enable the 2.4GHz band before setup.

6

The microSD card isn't included.

eufy's own manual says a microSD card is not included, and specifies at least a Class 10 card with a maximum of 128GB. eufy's support notes add: SDXC format, UHS-1 supported, UHS-2 and UHS-3 not supported. Cards are cheap — just buy the right one.

7

Apple Home caps the stream at 1080p.

eufy lists HomeKit, Alexa and Google Assistant support, and notes HomeKit supports up to 1080P resolution. For the full 4K you'll want the eufy Security app. Normal for HomeKit cameras, but worth knowing before you set it up.

8

Indoors only. Genuinely.

It's an indoor camera. No weather rating is published for it, so the patio, the carport and the back deck are all out. Keep it inside where the carpet is.

9

There is one. Single unit

This is a single renewed unit, not a run of stock. When it's gone there may not be another in the same grade for a while.

The coaster set

Yes. No. And use a coaster.

Nothing goes straight down on the good table. Same principle here — three stacks, and you need to know which one you're reaching for.

YesStraight down, no fuss

  • The eufy Security app on your phone
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi from a standard home router
  • Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant
  • microSD card, Class 10 or higher, up to 128GB, SDXC
  • Running completely standalone — no hub needed
  • A HomeBase 3 (S380) if you already own one, for up to 16TB
  • Table, shelf, wall or ceiling mounting

NoNot on the good table

  • 5GHz-only Wi-Fi networks — 2.4GHz must be enabled
  • Battery or cordless operation — it's a plug-in camera
  • Outdoor, patio or any weather-exposed spot
  • microSD cards over 128GB, or UHS-2 / UHS-3 cards
  • Bathrooms, toilets, or anywhere a guest would expect privacy
  • A sealed retail box — this is renewed packaging
!

Use a coasterFine, but mind how you go

  • Apple Home works — but caps the stream at 1080P
  • The microSD card is not included; budget for one
  • Cloud storage is optional, never required
  • The HomeBase 3 is optional and sold separately
  • Keep 0.2 m clear of walls and objects for night vision
  • Excellent grade — near-new, light handling marks possible
The door policy

Who gets into the good room.

There has always been a list. It has never been written down. Until now.

Not allowed in

Probably not for you if any of these are true.

  • You want a sealed retail box with factory shrink-wrap. This is renewed, and it looks it.
  • You need a battery or cordless camera you can put anywhere. This one needs a power outlet.
  • Your Wi-Fi is 5GHz only and you can't or won't turn on the 2.4GHz band.
  • You want it outside. It's an indoor camera and there's no weather rating for it.
  • You'll only view through Apple Home and you need the full 4K there — HomeKit caps at 1080P.
  • You want a camera with zero cosmetic history. Excellent grade is near-new, not untouched.
  • You were hoping for a matched multipack. There is one unit here.
Wait in the kitchen

Allowed in

Perfect for you if this sounds familiar.

  • You want 4K coverage of one whole room without buying three cameras.
  • You are done paying a monthly fee to look at your own footage.
  • You'd rather keep recordings on a card in your house than on somebody's server.
  • You've got a pet who does something suspicious the second you leave.
  • You want alerts that tell people apart from pets, not just "something moved".
  • You're happy to trade a retail box for a renewed unit at a renewed price.
  • You want a real 12-month warranty from a business in Australia you can actually email.

The good notepaper

Notes passed across the room.

Kept in the drawer of the hall table with the good pen. Unfold one.

Is this a new, unused unit?
No, and we won't dress it up as one. This is a Manufacturer Renewed unit graded Excellent. It was previously used, then restored and tested through the manufacturer's own renewal programme. Excellent grade means it presents close to new, with light handling marks possible, and it arrives in renewed, non-retail packaging. There is one unit available.
Who refurbished it — you, or eufy?
The refurbishment and testing sit with the manufacturer's renewal programme. CamGuard Australia imports and sells it, grades and photographs it honestly, and backs it with our own 12-month warranty. We don't claim to have rebuilt or bench-tested it ourselves, because we didn't.
Do I need a HomeBase or a hub?
No. The Indoor Cam E30 runs standalone on your Wi-Fi with a microSD card for local storage. If you already own a HomeBase 3 (S380), eufy lists it as compatible with up to 16TB of storage — but the HomeBase is sold separately and entirely optional.
Is there a monthly subscription?
eufy states there are no subscription fees, with optional cloud storage available if you want it. Local recording to a microSD card needs no ongoing payment.
Is a microSD card included?
No. eufy's own manual states the card is not included and specifies at least a Class 10 card with a maximum of 128GB. eufy's support notes add SDXC format and UHS-1 support, with UHS-2 and UHS-3 not supported. You'll want to buy one at the same time.
Will it join my 5GHz Wi-Fi?
No — eufy states the Indoor Cam E30 only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. If your router runs a combined network you're usually fine; if it's set to 5GHz only, switch the 2.4GHz band on before you start setup.
Can I stop it watching when we're home?
Privacy Mode is listed for this camera on eufy's own product page. eufy documents Privacy Mode as the camera automatically rotating to face the back and stopping all recording and live streaming, staying that way until you switch it off in the app. Worth setting up on day one if the camera is in a room the household actually uses.
Where should I not put an indoor camera?
Not in bathrooms or toilets, not in bedrooms belonging to guests, housemates or anyone who isn't part of the household decision, and not pointed through a window at a neighbour's property. Shared spaces — lounge, hallway, entry — are the sensible home for it. If other adults live there, tell them the camera exists and where it's aimed. It's the decent thing, and it saves an awkward conversation later.
Can I use it outdoors or on a covered patio?
No. It's an indoor camera and there's no published weather rating for it. For outdoor coverage you want a camera designed and rated for it — ask us and we'll point you at the right one rather than sell you this.
What colour is it?
The photos in this listing show the actual unit and its actual finish. We list the colour in the item specifics based on the unit in hand — go by the photos rather than the catalogue.
What's the warranty, exactly?
A 12-month in-house CamGuard Australia warranty, which is explicitly not a manufacturer warranty. Your Australian Consumer Law rights apply on top of it. If the camera is faulty or not as described within those 12 months, CamGuard covers the return postage. Change of mind is 30 days, buyer pays return postage, original shipping not refunded.

Still curious about something? Send a message through the listing — we answer them ourselves.
