eufyCam E40 — the plus one

(Brilliant company. Terrible at arriving solo.)

2K Quad HD, MaxColour Vision, a 150-lumen spotlight and a 105-dB siren — an add-on camera that turns up, behaves beautifully, and only ever comes as somebody's guest.

A$139.00 RRP A$299.95 Renewed · Good grade
⚠ Read the invitation terms first. The eufyCam E40 is an add-on camera. It does not work on its own. It requires a eufy HomeBase 2 or HomeBase S380 (HomeBase 3) to operate, and a HomeBase is not included in this listing.
⚠ The one thing that turns people away at the door

This camera does not have its own invitation.

The eufyCam E40 is an add-on camera. It pairs to a eufy HomeBase 2 or a eufy HomeBase S380 (also sold as HomeBase 3), and it will not record a single frame without one. There is no standalone mode, no Wi-Fi-only mode, no workaround. A HomeBase is not included here and is sold separately.

Already have a HomeBase 2 or a HomeBase S380 running? Wonderful — you're exactly who this listing is for, and your plus-one is ready to go. No HomeBase yet? Please buy a kit that includes one instead of this add-on. We would much rather tell you now than have it arrive and disappoint you.

Second, let's talk about "Renewed"

This camera was used before. It went back through the manufacturer's official renewal process, where it was refurbished and tested by that process before being released for resale. That testing is the manufacturer's — not ours.

This unit is graded Good — the honest middle. Fully functional, with light-to-moderate cosmetic marks on the housing: better than our Fair stock, not as clean as our Excellent stock. The marks are cosmetic only. Mounted under an eave, you'll be looking at footage, not housing.

It arrives in renewed (non-retail) packaging rather than the original retail box, and it's covered by our in-house 12-month CamGuard warranty — a CamGuard warranty, not a manufacturer warranty — on top of your Australian Consumer Law rights.

Dress code · 2K Quad HD

It turns up properly dressed

2K Quad HD is the resolution doing the work here. It's the difference between "someone was at the gate" and footage with enough detail to actually describe what you're looking at — the courier, the delivery, the car in the driveway, the dog that keeps getting into the bins.

Everything it records lands on your HomeBase, stored locally, with no subscription required to watch your own footage back.

After dark · MaxColour Vision

Still the best-dressed guest at 2am

MaxColour Vision captures full-colour footage in low light, so night clips come back in colour instead of grey shapes — clothing, vehicles, the actual colour of things. There are three night-vision modes to choose between, so you can set it to suit the spot it's watching.

The built-in 150-lumen spotlight lights the scene when you want it lit, and there's a 105-dB siren you can sound from the eufy Security app.

Stamina · 13,000 mAh

Stays until the very end of the night

The 13,000 mAh built-in battery is rated for months of use per charge, so this isn't a camera you're forever fetching down a ladder. Charge it, mount it, and get on with your life.

IP66 weatherproofing covers the rain, the dust and the heat that come with an Australian year. Mount it sensibly — it's weatherproof, not submersible.

Conversation · Audio & detection

It can hold a conversation

Focused two-way audio with noise reduction lets you talk through the camera from the app — redirect a courier, answer the gate, or just say hello — with less of the surrounding racket coming through.

An upgraded PIR motion sensor handles the detection side, and it works with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, so it slots into whichever smart-home setup you already run. Footage is stored locally on the HomeBase, with no subscription required.

"Immaculate guest. Records everything, remembers everything, asks for nothing monthly. Just cannot get through the door without its HomeBase."
— The vibe, in one sentence
Please read carefully

The fine print on the invitation

Every camera has limits, and a renewed one has a few more. Here are this one's, stated plainly rather than buried.

i.
It requires a HomeBase, and one is not included.

The E40 is an add-on camera. It needs a eufy HomeBase 2 or a eufy HomeBase S380 (HomeBase 3) to operate, both sold separately, and it will not work on its own — no standalone mode, no Wi-Fi-only mode. If you don't already own a compatible HomeBase, buy a kit that includes one instead of this listing.

ii.
It was used before, and at Good grade you will see that.

This is a Manufacturer Renewed unit — previously used, then refurbished and tested by the manufacturer's renewal process. Good grade means fully functional with light-to-moderate cosmetic marks on the housing. Cosmetic only, and honestly described. If you want the cleanest cosmetics, our Excellent-grade stock exists for exactly that reason.

iii.
It arrives in renewed packaging, not a retail box.

Protective renewed packaging rather than the original retail box. If an unopened, sealed carton matters to you, this isn't the listing — and that's a perfectly fair call.

iv.
It's 2K, not 4K.

2K Quad HD is genuinely useful detail for a home camera, but it is not 4K. If you specifically need 4K resolution, this is not the model for you.

v.
The warranty here is ours, not the manufacturer's.

Renewed stock we sell is covered by our own in-house 12-month CamGuard warranty. That is a CamGuard warranty, not a eufy or Anker manufacturer warranty. Your Australian Consumer Law rights apply on top of it, always.

Why buy your plus one from CamGuard?

  • You want an unopened, sealed unit with flawless cosmetics — this is renewed, Good grade

  • Expanding an existing system without paying for a second hub

  • People who want footage stored locally with no monthly subscription
  • Driveways, side gates, carports and backyards

The running sheet — four steps

Assuming the host is already home. If your HomeBase isn't set up yet, that's step zero, and you'll need one.

1Check the host

Confirm your HomeBase 2 or HomeBase S380 (HomeBase 3) is set up and online in the eufy Security app, with current firmware.

2Charge the guest

Give the 13,000 mAh battery a full charge indoors before you mount anything.

3Send the invite

Add the camera as a new device in the app and pair it to your HomeBase, keeping it close to the hub while it pairs.

4Pick its spot

Mount the bracket, clip the camera on, then fine-tune the angle using live view.

Will it work without a HomeBase?

No. The eufyCam E40 is an add-on camera and requires a eufy HomeBase 2 or a eufy HomeBase S380 (HomeBase 3) to operate. Without one it cannot be set up or used at all, and a HomeBase is not included in this listing. If you don't own one, buy a kit that includes a hub instead. This is the single most important line on the page.

RSVP received ✓
I already have a HomeBase 2. Do I just pair it?

Yes. Make sure your HomeBase 2 firmware is up to date in the eufy Security app, then add the camera as a new device and pair it while the camera is close to the hub. Once paired you can mount it wherever you like.

RSVP received ✓
What about a HomeBase S380 / HomeBase 3?

Also fine — the HomeBase S380 is the same hub that's sold as HomeBase 3, and it's on the list. Update its firmware in the eufy Security app first, then add the camera as a new device.

RSVP received ✓
What exactly does "Manufacturer Renewed" mean?

The unit was previously used, then went through the manufacturer's official renewal process, where it was refurbished and tested by that process before being released for resale. It arrives in renewed (non-retail) packaging and is covered by our 12-month CamGuard warranty — a CamGuard warranty, not a manufacturer one.

RSVP received ✓
How rough is "Good" grade, honestly?

Light-to-moderate cosmetic marks on the housing — more than our Excellent stock, less than our Fair stock. Fully functional, and the marks are purely cosmetic. It arrives in renewed packaging rather than a retail box. If cosmetics matter to you, our Excellent-grade units of this camera cost a little more and photograph better.

RSVP received ✓
Are there monthly fees?

No subscription is required. Footage is stored locally on your HomeBase rather than in a cloud plan, so recording and playback don't depend on a monthly payment.

RSVP received ✓
How does it see at night?

MaxColour Vision captures full-colour footage in low light, and there are three night-vision modes so you can match it to the spot it's watching. There's also a built-in 150-lumen spotlight if you want the scene lit.

RSVP received ✓
How often will I be charging it?

The 13,000 mAh built-in battery is rated for months of use per charge. Real-world figures depend on how much activity it records and how you have it configured, so treat the rating as a guide rather than a promise.

RSVP received ✓
Will it cope with Australian weather?

It's IP66 weatherproof, which covers rain, dust and outdoor conditions. It isn't rated for submersion, so mount it sensibly and don't aim a pressure washer at it.

RSVP received ✓
Does it work with HomeKit, Alexa or Google?

Yes — it works with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Keep the firmware on your HomeBase current and enable the integration you want in the eufy Security app.

RSVP received ✓
How do warranty claims work?

Message us with your order details and the serial number. Faulty and warranty returns are free under our 12-month CamGuard warranty, and your Australian Consumer Law rights apply on top.
