THE PREMISE: suburban anime, except the overqualified hero is a solar 4K camera and the self-appointed final boss is a roof possum with no visible source of income.
Integrated solar, 4K event recording, PIR motion detection and local storage through the HomeBase 3 route. The S330 add-on requires HomeBase 3 / S380 or HomeBase Professional S1 / T9000; it cannot pair to HomeBase 2 or HomeBase Mini, and it cannot run standalone. Storage and features vary by base.

This add-on camera cannot work standalone and requires a compatible eufy HomeBase, sold separately. HomeBase 3 (S380) is supported, and eufy’s current compatibility list also supports HomeBase Professional S1 (T9000). HomeBase 2 is not supported. Storage and AI features depend on the selected base and firmware. No compatible base is included.
The S330 add-on cannot work standalone. HomeBase 3 and HomeBase Professional S1 are supported and sold separately; HomeBase 2 is not supported. Keep the selected base on current firmware so storage, AI and smart-home features behave as intended.
plot requirement
4K catches the detail your family group chat turns into folklore.
The S330 records events at 3840 × 2160 through a 135° field of view. That is enough detail to separate a courier from a cousin, a wheelie bin from a bloke hiding badly behind one, and “pretty sure” from an actual timestamp.
It is battery-powered and records triggered events. It does not record continuously 24/7.

Stationary. Green lid. Emotionally unavailable.
Small. Powerful. No intention of explaining itself.
Two hours of direct sun. Thirty seconds of looking smug about it.
Integrated panel · aim it at actual sunlight
The solar panel is built into the camera. eufy’s operating target is roughly two hours of direct sunlight per day to support ongoing event-based use. A north-facing position with a clear sky view usually gives the panel a better chance than “under the jacaranda because the screw hole was already there”.
Solar performance varies with shade, season, activity, recording length and settings. Charge the camera before setup; sunlight is support, not magic.
Ask the clouds for a written power guarantee
PIR motion wakes the camera. The suspicious leaf fails auditions.
PIR motion detection wakes the camera. Through a compatible HomeBase, the system can classify people, vehicles and pets and use BionicMind recognition features. eufy does not specify radar sensing for eufyCam 3 (S330). Activity zones help keep the camera interested in your property rather than every pedestrian living a normal life.
No detection system is perfect. Placement, sensitivity, approach angle and distance matter.
Audition one extremely ambitious leaf
Colour night vision reveals the tiny despot who owns none of this roof.
The f/1.4 lens, Starlight colour night vision, infrared and a built-in spotlight preserve useful detail after dark. A 100dB siren and two-way audio are available for deterrence.
The siren is loud; use it thoughtfully. The possum has not read the body-corporate rules and will probably lodge a counterclaim in the ceiling.

POSSUM: “This hearing is prejudiced.”
GUTTER: makes one noise that costs you an hour of sleep.
The camera brings the eyeball. HomeBase 3 brings the brain and storage.
Required system
HB3The S330 cannot connect directly to ordinary household Wi-Fi or work standalone. It must pair to a supported HomeBase 3 or HomeBase Professional S1, sold separately.
Local evidence locker
16GB → 16TBHomeBase 3 starts with built-in local storage and accepts a compatible 2.5-inch SATA HDD or SSD up to 16TB. The expansion drive is also sold separately.
Attempt the forbidden standalone training technique
Local recording without joining a gym for your camera footage.
Recording to HomeBase 3 local storage does not require a monthly cloud subscription. Optional cloud features exist, but the core local recording path is not a membership you must cancel later.
No retention department. No “your original branch closed in 2019”. No certified letter witnessed by a regional manager during a lunar eclipse.
Begin fictional gym cancellation process
STEP 2: bring photo ID, your 2017 welcome towel and the staff member who signed you up.
STEP 3: realise the S330 local recording never required this nonsense.
Reason for leaving
Staff use only: misplaced until next direct debit.
Not applicable hereIP67 for outdoor weather. Not an invitation to install it in the pool.
Forecast: sunny, then rain from three directions at once
The camera carries an IP67 weather-resistance rating for outdoor use when correctly installed. Secure the mount, protect the charging-port seal and avoid positions where water pools or the panel lives in permanent shade.
IP67 does not mean floodproof, pressure-wash-proof or “mount directly under the roof valley and see how she goes”.
Check Townsville storm protocol
Speak through the camera. Try not to deliver a four-minute villain monologue.
Two-way audio lets you speak through the S330 from the eufy Security app. Alexa and Google voice-assistant support can help with compatible viewing and control setups. The built-in siren is available when the situation needs more than a polite sentence.
Audio delay, network conditions and device compatibility vary. “Oi mate, that parcel belongs here” remains more useful than “you have entered my domain”.
Brand New. Full retail packaging. Zero tragic refurbishment backstory.

Crossing motion, direct sun, legal field of view. Three boring choices that make the hero work.

Responsible hero clause: aim cameras at your own property, minimise capture of neighbours and public areas, use audio and facial recognition lawfully, and tell household members and visitors where required.
Draw the arena around your driveway. Leave the footpath out of the tournament.

Activity zones and sensitivity controls help focus detection on the area that matters. Put the driveway, gate or side access inside the frame and trim away busy roads, moving trees and the neighbour’s entire front yard.
Zones are a filter, not a force field. Test by walking through the actual approach route and tune after you see real events.
Reveal the forbidden detection zone
EXPECTED RESULT: 418 notifications before lunch and one exhausted phone battery.
A useful event timeline, not 89 episodes of an empty driveway.

HomeBase 3 organises local events for review in the eufy Security app. Human, vehicle and pet categories can make it faster to find the right clip; BionicMind recognition features depend on setup, clear views and system learning.
Local storage remains at home on the required hub. Remote access and notifications still require a working network connection.
All stats. No filler arc.
Dispatch, warranty and the questions asked before episode one.
We do our best to dispatch the same day; same-day to 1 business day is typical from Townsville, Queensland. During busy periods it can take a little longer.
Covered by CamGuard Australia’s 12-month in-house warranty, alongside your Australian Consumer Law rights. This is not a manufacturer warranty.
CamGuard Australia is an independent reseller and is not affiliated with or endorsed by eufy or Anker Innovations.
Can the S330 work without a compatible HomeBase?
No standalone operation. A supported HomeBase 3 or HomeBase Professional S1 is required and sold separately. HomeBase 2 is not supported.
Does it record 24/7?
No. This battery-powered camera records triggered events. It is not a continuous-recording camera.
Is a monthly subscription required?
No for recording to HomeBase 3 local storage. Optional cloud services and cloud-dependent features may still be offered separately.
Will solar charging work in shade?
Performance depends on direct sun, season, activity and settings. eufy’s target is about two hours of direct sunlight daily. Permanent shade is not a suitable solar plan.
Is HomeBase 3 in the box?
No. This is the Brand New S330 add-on camera listing. HomeBase 3 and any storage-expansion drive are sold separately.
Is it a renewed or open-box camera?
No. This listing is Brand New and factory sealed in full retail packaging.
When will CamGuard Australia dispatch it?
Dispatch is typically same-day to 1 business day from Townsville. Busy periods may take a little longer, so checkout timing and carrier updates remain the practical guide.
The sun did its shift. The possum denied everything. The footage stayed local on the compatible HomeBase.
eufyCam 3 S330: an absurdly serious solar 4K witness for ordinary Australian yards.
