Pan, tilt, follow
355° of head-turning.
The head pans 355° side to side and tilts as well. Automatic motion tracking pans and tilts to follow the action, so you’re not stuck with one fixed view of the yard.

It faces one way at a time, so give it a resting view on the spot that matters most and let tracking do the turning.
Removable solar panel

The panel comes off and adjusts. Leave it on top of the camera, or mount it nearby on its cable, so the camera can face the view while the panel faces the sun.

Sun in, power in: eufy notes that what the panel collects depends on the weather and the sunlight, and on a dull day the battery can go down. A cable top-up now and then is normal.
After dark
Spotlight on. Colour on.
When the light drops, the built-in spotlight lets the S340 record in colour. A siren sits in the same head, and two-way audio lets you talk to whoever’s there through the eufy Security app.

Hybrid, not optical
The 8× zoom combines the telephoto lens with digital zoom. It isn’t an 8× optical lens, and detail depends on distance and light.

It saves motion-triggered clips. In eufy’s words, battery cameras aren’t currently capable of 24/7 recording, even on a HomeBase 3.

Do I need a HomeBase or a subscription?
No to both. It works on its own over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and records to the 8 GB built into the camera, with no monthly fee for local recording. A HomeBase 3, HomeBase 2, HomeBase Mini or Professional S1 is optional.
Is the 8× zoom optical?
No. eufy lists it as hybrid 8×: the 2K telephoto lens plus digital zoom. Detail depends on distance and light; eufy quotes detail at up to 12 m.
Does it record all day?
No. It records events when it detects motion. In eufy’s words, battery cameras aren’t currently capable of 24/7 recording, even on a HomeBase 3.
Will the solar panel keep it charged?
