CamGuard AustraliaOutdoor Pocket Pet · care class T8144 · adult HomeBase required
A new creature has appeared

Outdoor Pocket Pet.

It eats sunlight, notices visitors, talks both ways and becomes extremely loud when asked. Unlike the pocket pets of 1998, this one needs a compatible HomeBase before it will do anything useful.

The eufyCam E40 is a new, never-used T8144 add-on camera supplied without its individual retail carton. It brings 2K MaxColor night vision, a 130-degree view, integrated solar and a 13,000 mAh internal battery to an existing compatible eufy system.

New creature. Torn backing card.

New No Box means the camera and its listed camera accessories are new and never used, while the original individual retail carton is absent. The E40 was separated from a boxed multi-camera kit and is supplied in protective non-retail packaging.

You receive the same functional camera accessory set: camera, mounting bracket, mounting screws, USB-C charging cable, positioning sticker and printed guide. It is not manufacturer-renewed or previously used stock.

PACKAGING DAMAGE: none claimed. PACKAGING EXISTENCE: not included.

Permission slip for an overnight stay

A compatible HomeBase must sign. The router cannot forge it.

The E40 is an add-on camera, not a standalone Wi-Fi camera. It needs a compatible HomeBase for setup, communication and the local recording route. No base is included in this offer.

Docking station record

HomeBase 2 and HomeBase S380 / HomeBase 3 are the operating bases named on the E40 product page. eufy’s current HomeBase Professional S1 compatibility list also marks T8144 as supported.

HomeBase Mini is not supported for E40. There is no direct-to-router mode hiding behind a long button press. Choose a complete kit instead if the household does not already own, or deliberately plan to add, a compatible base.

The best-friend bracelet

The E40 charm only works when a compatible base is on the string.

A friendship bracelet is an excellent place to repeat the most return-preventing fact in the listing: this is one add-on camera, and the compatible HomeBase is both mandatory and absent from the parcel.

NO

HomeBase 2 is a documented E40 operating base, as is HomeBase S380 / HomeBase 3. eufy’s current compatibility list for HomeBase Professional S1 also marks model T8144 as supported. HomeBase Mini is not supported, even though its name sounds precisely like the accessory a pocket-sized creature would choose.

The camera does not join the household router directly. Pair it near the compatible HomeBase through the eufy Security app, complete relevant firmware prompts, then carry the paired camera to the proposed outdoor position and confirm the system connection there. A strong live frame with no stable base link is only a very attractive preview.

Recordings follow the storage route provided by the paired HomeBase. The E40 camera body does not contain a microSD card slot, so no memory card is included or required for the camera itself. Storage capacity, expansion options and selected features depend on the exact HomeBase and its configuration. Review the base you own instead of buying a tiny card and hoping the toy shell develops a slot overnight.

Smart-home behaviour also depends on the compatible system. eufy lists Apple HomeKit, Alexa and Google Assistant for E40, subject to the chosen HomeBase, firmware and platform setup. HomeKit use with HomeBase 2 needs supported current firmware. The bracelet records compatibility; it does not make every base expose identical features.

Friendship ruleCompatible camera plus compatible base plus current setup. No HomeBase is included here, HomeBase Mini stays off the string, and the camera’s recordings live through the selected HomeBase rather than a card inside the E40. If the base model is uncertain, identify it in the app or on its label before ordering rather than relying on the family resemblance between white boxes.
Daily care screen

Feed useful sunlight. Watch the activity meter. Charge before first play.

The integrated 0.7W solar panel is designed to reduce routine manual charging. Start with a full charge using the included USB-C cable and a suitable 5V USB charger, not supplied. The manufacturer guide allows up to eight hours for the initial charge.

Then choose a mount with useful sunlight. Shade, activity, live viewing, temperature and settings all affect the energy balance. The large 13,000 mAh internal battery is a meaningful reserve, not an endless-life cheat code.

Battery-and-solar use is intended for motion-event recording. Continuous 24/7 video and the supported four-second pre-roll require compatible direct power. The separate direct-power cable for that mode is sold separately and is not included.

Three screen moods

Day face. MaxColor face. Infrared bedtime face.

The physical LCD strip is a toy joke, not an app interface. The facts inside it describe three real image conditions and keep the total-darkness limit attached to MaxColor.

^‿^
Day detail

2688 × 1520, 2K / 4MP recording through a fixed F1.0, 2.8 mm lens with a broad 130-degree field of view.

MaxColor

Uses the bright lens, available ambient light and manufacturer-stated 150-lumen spotlight to retain colour in suitable low light.

-‿-
Infrared

The practical monochrome fallback in complete darkness. Distance, rain, reflection and placement still influence the result.

Mount for the useful scene, then review real night footage. A bright feature name does not make every black corner permanently colourful, and infrared deserves more respect than a sad bedtime face suggests.

Take it for yard walkies

Four kinds of movement leave different footprints.

Human, pet, vehicle and other motion detection help organise events and notifications. These are useful filtering categories rather than flawless declarations from a tiny digital oracle.

VEHICLE

When the creature has something to say

Full-duplex talk for visitors. A 105 dB stated tantrum for deliberate alarm use.

The built-in microphone and speaker support full-duplex two-way audio, so both sides can speak and listen naturally rather than taking turns like two people sharing one toy walkie-talkie.

The manufacturer states a 105 dB siren. It can be used through supported manual or automatic alarm settings. Configure it deliberately and follow local requirements; the neighbour’s cat should not trigger a neighbourhood-wide boss battle.

eufy lists Apple HomeKit, Alexa and Google Assistant support for E40 through compatible system setups. Availability depends on the chosen HomeBase, current firmware and the smart-home platform. HomeKit on HomeBase 2 requires current supported firmware.

“Parcel by the door, please.” Full-duplex audio is the rare pocket-pet feature that improves a real courier conversation.
Translucent rain shell sold with common sense

IP66 goes outdoors. Port covers, mounting and maintenance still matter.

eufyCam E40 outdoor camera inside the illustrated IP66 rain shell
IP66

The E40 is rated IP66 when installed correctly, supporting outdoor use against dust and strong water jets. Seat charging-port covers properly, use suitable fixings for the real surface and keep the lens clear of runoff, branches and sprinklers.

Useful weather shelter can also reduce solar exposure. A bright sunny point may have a poor view or weak HomeBase connection. Balance the expected path, useful frame, base reach and sunlight rather than giving one requirement custody of the whole decision.

Heat, cold, high activity and poor sun can change battery behaviour. Keep the camera safely accessible for cleaning, adjustment and occasional USB charging. “Lives outdoors” should not mean “can only be reached by the school’s tallest Year 12 student.”

Outdoor care list: secure mount · covers seated · lens clear · useful solar · HomeBase reach · safe access · night frame reviewed.
Open the accessory blister

Scout

Mount

Fix the bracket securely, attach the camera, run Motion Test Mode and tune zones, sensitivity, categories, notifications and night settings.

If 24/7 recording or four-second pre-roll is required, plan compatible direct power and the separately sold cable before final mounting. The tiny training manual cannot unlock a secret continuous-solar mode.

Five households this creature should not follow home.

No HomeBase

You do not own or plan to add a compatible base. The E40 cannot join the router directly or operate alone.

Sealed retail gift

You need factory-sealed individual presentation. This hardware is new and unused, but the original retail carton is absent.

Deep shade only

The only useful mount receives little solar exposure and you expect the panel to erase all future charging.

Solar 24/7

You expect continuous recording from battery and solar. That mode needs direct power and a separate compatible cable.

Colour in zero light

You require full-colour footage in complete darkness without the spotlight. Infrared is the practical fallback.

Folded care guide

Eight answers before the adoption papers are signed.

Can the E40 live without a HomeBase?

No. This is an add-on camera and needs a compatible HomeBase for setup, communication and recording storage. HomeBase 2 and HomeBase S380 / HomeBase 3 are named on the E40 product page, while eufy’s current Professional S1 list also includes T8144. No base is included. HomeBase Mini is not supported, and direct-to-router use is unavailable.

What does New No Box include?

The camera and listed accessories are new and never used, while the individual retail carton is absent. You receive the E40 T8144, mounting bracket, screws, USB-C charging cable, positioning sticker and printed guide. The camera came from a boxed multi-camera kit and is safely repacked in protective non-retail packaging. It is not manufacturer-renewed or previously used stock.

Does solar remove every future charge?

The built-in 0.7W panel is designed to reduce routine charging, but it still needs useful sunlight. Activity, live viewing, temperature, settings and shade affect the balance. Fully charge the 13,000 mAh internal battery first. A shaded or unusually busy position may need occasional charging with the supplied USB-C cable and a suitable 5V USB charger.

Will MaxColor stay colourful in darkness?

Not in every scene. MaxColor uses the F1.0 lens, ambient light and manufacturer-stated 150-lumen spotlight to retain colour where conditions support it. In complete darkness, infrared is the advised fallback and produces a monochrome image. Distance, rain, nearby surfaces and installation angle all influence the practical result, so review footage after dark.

Can it record continuously all day?

Yes, when connected to compatible direct power with the separately sold direct-power cable. Battery-and-solar operation is intended for motion-event recording rather than continuous 24/7 video. Direct power is also required for the four-second pre-roll feature. Plan that cable before final mounting so the chosen position and recording mode can work together physically.

Where does footage live? Is there a card slot?

Recordings use the local storage route provided by the compatible HomeBase. The E40 camera body does not contain a microSD slot, so no card is included or required for the camera itself. Capacity, expansion and available functions depend on the exact HomeBase and configuration. Review that system before buying a memory card the creature cannot eat.

When will it leave and what is delivery?

CamGuard makes a best effort to dispatch the same day. Same-day to 1 business day is typical, while busy periods may extend handling, though that is rare. Australia Post Express is included on orders over $99.00. Under $99.00, tracked postage is $9.95 or Express is $12.95. Checkout shows the service available for the destination.

What happens if it is faulty or not as described?

Contact CamGuard Australia and we will handle the issue under our own 12-month warranty and your Australian Consumer Law rights. For a fault or an item not as described, CamGuard covers return postage. Change-of-mind returns follow separate terms: within 30 days, complete and unused, with buyer-paid return postage and original shipping not refunded.

Records, does not prevent.

The E40 can record events, send configured alerts, support two-way talk and activate alarm features. It does not stop trespass, theft, damage or another incident by itself. Placement, connection, power, settings and a human response remain part of the real security plan.

Clip it to the right household

Sun-fed. Base-dependent. Ready for yard duty.

Choose the E40 when a compatible HomeBase is already part of the family, New No Box suits the job and a useful sunny mounting position is ready. The pocket-pet ritual may be ridiculous. The compatibility rule is completely serious.
