Curlew Complaint Hotline

Sound and cry detection suit a night-shift switchboard, while motorised pan and tilt help verify whether that scream was, once again, a bird.

The mint-green eufy Wired Cam C31 brings 1080p video, PureColor night vision, smart tracking and continuous wired power to the front garden. The local curlew has requested that all allegations be put in writing.

OPERATOR NOTE: The camera works directly with your router. Recording needs a 32–256 GB microSD card or a compatible optional HomeBase; neither storage option is built into the camera.

Complaint intake · Form CRW-31A

Four calls the operator can actually sort.

The C31 detects useful categories rather than treating every moving leaf as a constitutional crisis. Settings, placement and the scene still matter; the wheelie bin remains a repeat caller.

That scream was a bird

“Someone is walking up the drive.”

Human detection can flag the event, and automatic tracking can follow the person through the camera’s pan-and-tilt range. It records what the camera can see; it does not confer investigative powers on the pot plant.

Operator correction: useful alert, not a promise that every person will be classified perfectly.

“A vehicle has entered qualifying.”

Vehicle detection and auto-tracking suit driveways and carports, especially when a fixed view would watch only one patch of concrete. The hatchback may be followed; its three-point turn will not be scored for artistic impression.

Operator correction: 130° lens view plus motorised movement, not magical vision through fences.

“The dog is conducting another perimeter review.”

Pet detection can help separate four-legged movement from other events, while two-way audio lets you speak through the camera. Whether the dog recognises “leave the sprinkler alone” as a lawful direction is outside the specification.

Operator correction: speaker and microphone are built in; obedience training is not.

“There is crying, or a curlew doing tax paperwork.”

Sound and cry detection are listed smart functions. They can be helpful near family spaces, but they are camera features rather than a baby-monitoring guarantee. The curlew denies impersonating an infant and has retained the late-shift shop steward.

Operator correction: tune notifications for the real location and review events in the eufy Security app.

Operator window · Line of sight

One compact camera. More than one patch of yard.

The 130° lens and motorised 360° pan let you move the view in the app, while tilt control handles the vertical angle. Automatic tracking can follow recognised people, vehicles and pets instead of leaving them to wander out of a fixed frame like a caller who heard the hold music.

The bracket supports upright or inverted installation indoors or outdoors. Test the complete movement path before final tightening, protect the powered connection correctly, and leave enough clearance that the camera does not spend its first night studying the eave.

Shift annotation: IP66 covers dust and water resistance. It does not turn a poorly located power point into an outdoor electrical plan.

Night desk · Three illumination choices

The 2:13 am lighting roster.

PureColor

The default mode uses the F1.2 aperture and sensor to produce colour footage in low light without relying on a spotlight or infrared. Results still depend on the available scene light. The moon has lodged no guarantee of rostered attendance.

Spotlight

The camera can use its light when the situation calls for it, with alarm functions available manually or by supported triggers. Place it thoughtfully around windows and neighbours. Nobody enjoys an unexpected interrogation lamp while taking the bins out.

Infrared

Traditional IR night vision remains available when colour is not the priority. Choose the mode in video settings and check the real result after mounting. A spider web near the lens can still become the brightest celebrity on the overnight roster.

Call routing · Smart events

The switchboard knows four queues. The curlew calls all of them.

People lineHuman detection with optional automatic tracking. The neighbour retrieving a parcel is not automatically a plot twist.
Vehicle lineVehicle detection helps a driveway earn its own queue. Parallel parking remains a separate emotional event.
Pet linePet detection can route four-legged activity. The cat will still claim the notification was defamatory.
Sound lineSound and cry detection provide another trigger type. The curlew has asked to be listed as a musical instrument.

Two-way talk · Speaker and microphone

Take the call without opening the door.

Use the eufy Security app for live view and two-way audio when the camera and your phone have suitable connectivity. It can be useful for a visitor, family member or delivery at the gate. It cannot make the courier admit they placed the parcel directly under the downpipe.

“Hello. Please leave it by the dry wall. No, the other dry wall. The curlew is not authorised to sign.”

Audio capture and conversation features must be used lawfully and with regard to privacy, workplace, tenancy, strata and local obligations. The hotline may be fictional; consent requirements are not.

Power route · Continuous service

Wired means the night shift needs a cable, not a pep talk.

Choose the positionConfirm 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, view and a safe power route. The curlew cannot approve electrical works.
Fit the bracketMount upright or inverted as instructed, with clearance for pan and tilt. Eaves are scenery, not a lens cap.
Connect USB-CUse the supplied 2 m USB-C cable and 5V/1A adapter. The camera has no operating battery or solar mode.
Test before tighteningCheck the full movement, image, night mode and recording. The wheelie bin may volunteer as a test subject.

Standalone microSD

Connect the C31 directly to your 2.4 GHz router and insert a 32–256 GB microSD card into the camera. Format it in the app before recording. The card is sold separately; the complaints ledger does not write itself onto fresh air.

HomeBase Mini

T8025 is compatible and offers its supported storage and HomeBase features. When the camera is connected to a HomeBase, storage is handled at the base as directed. It is optional, not a secret compulsory receptionist hiding behind the product photo.

HomeBase 3

HomeBase 3, also identified as S380 or T8030, is compatible. Some HomeBase-connected functions can differ from standalone use and evolve with firmware or app services. HomeBase 2 T8010 is not compatible, regardless of how politely it asks to be transferred.

Patch panel · Read before pairing

Connections the operator will and will not put through.

Direct to routerYes. Standalone operation on a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, with microSD added for local recording.
HomeBase Mini T8025Yes. Compatible optional base. The word “optional” has survived three switchboard transfers.
HomeBase 3 T8030Yes. Also called S380. Select it for the supported ecosystem features you actually want.
HomeBase 2 T8010No. Not compatible. It cannot be persuaded by a louder dial tone or a handwritten docket.
Apple HomeKitNo. HomeKit connection is not supported. The curlew has declined to join another household.
Alexa and Google AssistantListed smart integrations. Exact commands and display behaviour can vary by device, region and current platform support.

Inside the original retail box

  • 5V/1A USB power adapter
  • 2 m USB-C power cable
  • Multi-functional mounting bracket
  • Screw and fixing pack
  • Quick-start documentation
  • Original retail carton and internal packing

Condition: brand new, factory sealed and supplied in full original retail packaging. No handset, curlew identification badge or emergency packet of biscuits is concealed under the insert.

Not included

  • microSD card
  • HomeBase Mini or HomeBase 3
  • Phillips screwdriver, drill or other installation tools
  • Professional installation or electrical work

The camera can operate without a HomeBase, but local recording still needs supported storage. The operator has checked the empty tray twice; it remains an empty tray, which is the one thing it is qualified to do.

Call refusal script · A useful no

This is probably not your camera if...

You need battery or solar powerC31 requires continuous USB-C power. The sun is not on its wiring diagram.
You only have 5 GHz Wi-FiThe camera connects on 2.4 GHz. A compatible band is not negotiable via hold music.
You require HomeKitApple HomeKit is not supported. The patch panel says no in unusually legible ink.
You already chose HomeBase 2T8010 is not compatible. This is not the reunion episode.
You expect recording with no storageAdd microSD or a compatible HomeBase. Empty air keeps a very poor event history.
Installation queue · Four calls

Set it up before the curlew rings back.

Update and add

Install the current eufy Security app, sign in, power the camera and scan its QR code. Choose direct-router mode or add a compatible HomeBase first. The QR code is the only caller permitted to skip the queue.

Choose storage

For standalone local recording, power down and insert a supported microSD card in the camera, then format it in the app. If using a compatible HomeBase, follow its storage instructions instead. Do not hot-swap the card.

Mount and cable

Check Wi-Fi and the intended view, fit the bracket as directed, connect the supplied USB-C cable and plan a protected power arrangement. Leave clearance for movement. A neat cable route gets fewer complaints than a clothesline impression.

Run the night test

Use the app to move the view, select night vision, tune detection and verify actual recordings. Walk the real route in daylight and darkness. The curlew is available for testing, but invoices exclusively in loud noises.

Questions the operator answers before transferring anyone.

Is this definitely the green, brand-new C31?

Yes. This listing is for the green eufy Wired Cam C31 Add-On Camera, part number T817L160 and barcode 194644253837. It is brand new, factory sealed and supplied in full original retail packaging. It is not open box, manufacturer renewed or used. The genuine product images show the green variant; the written contents list controls exactly what is supplied.

Does the camera need a HomeBase to work?

No. The C31 can connect directly to a compatible 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi router and operate through the eufy Security app without a HomeBase. For local recording in that standalone setup, insert a supported microSD card into the camera. HomeBase Mini T8025 and HomeBase 3 T8030 are compatible optional choices; HomeBase 2 T8010 is not compatible.

Can it record continuously without a subscription?

Yes, when supported local storage is installed and continuous recording is enabled correctly. Use a 32–256 GB microSD card in the standalone camera, or a compatible HomeBase arrangement. The camera has no built-in recording capacity, and neither a microSD card nor HomeBase is included. No mandatory cloud subscription is required for local recording, although optional cloud services and app features can change.

Can I run it from a battery or solar panel?

No. Wired Cam C31 requires continuous USB-C power and has no operating battery or supported solar mode. The sealed retail package includes the current manual’s listed 5V/1A USB adapter and 2 m USB-C cable. Plan a safe, suitable cable route and protected electrical connection before mounting. IP66 weather resistance applies to the camera system as specified, not to unsafe power arrangements.

What should I know about outdoor mounting and privacy?

The camera is IP66-rated and supports upright or inverted bracket installation, indoors or outdoors. Test Wi-Fi, drainage orientation, power protection and the complete pan-and-tilt path before final tightening. Aim only where you are entitled to record, and consider privacy, audio, tenancy, strata, workplace and neighbour obligations. Local requirements vary, so the owner remains responsible for lawful placement and use.

How are shipping, warranty and returns handled?

Orders over $99.00 include Australia Post Express; under $99.00, tracked shipping is $9.95 or Express is $12.95. Our own 12-month warranty and Australian Consumer Law rights apply, with the return terms stated below.
