What it can label
The C31 sorts what it sees and hears into five kinds of alert. Each one is a helpful label, not a certainty: light, angle and distance change results.
Someone walks into view, and the head can turn to follow them.

No. With a microSD card (32 to 256 GB, not included) it records on its own. HomeBase Mini, HomeBase 3 or the Professional S1 can store clips instead; HomeBase 2 can’t.
It has no battery, so it switches off, can’t detect or record, and starts again when the power comes back.
Yes. It sits on a table or shelf, or mounts to a wall or ceiling, upright or upside down, and it’s rated IP66 for outdoors.
Power the camera off first. The card cover’s little screw is meant to stay in: loosen it and lift the cover rather than taking the screw right out.

T817L160Human, vehicle, pet, sound and cry detection help sort alerts. Review the recording: placement, settings and the scene affect results.
Check the recordingHuman detection can flag the event, and automatic tracking can follow the person through the camera’s pan-and-tilt range. Tracking stays within the camera’s available view.
Detection is useful, but classification is not guaranteed.Vehicle detection and auto-tracking suit driveways and carports, especially when a fixed view would watch only one patch of concrete. Tracking is useful when a vehicle moves beyond a fixed view.
The camera cannot see through fences or other obstructions.Pet detection can help separate four-legged movement from other events, while two-way audio lets you speak through the camera. It cannot guarantee that the dog will obey.
A speaker and microphone are built in.Sound and cry detection are listed smart functions, useful for alerts near family spaces. They are camera features, not a baby-monitoring guarantee; check the recording before acting.
Tune notifications for the location and review events in the eufy Security app.The default mode uses the F1.2 aperture and sensor to produce colour footage in low light without relying on a spotlight or infrared. Results still depend on the available scene light.
The camera can use its light when the situation calls for it, with alarm functions available manually or by supported triggers. Place it thoughtfully around windows and neighbours. Nobody enjoys an unexpected interrogation lamp while taking the bins out.
Traditional IR night vision remains available when colour is not the priority. Choose the mode in video settings and check the real result after mounting. A spider web near the lens can still become the brightest celebrity on the overnight roster.
Connect the C31 directly to your 2.4 GHz router and insert a 32–256 GB microSD card into the camera. Format it in the app before recording. The card is sold separately. The camera has no built-in recording capacity.
T8025 is compatible and offers its supported storage and HomeBase features. When the camera is connected to a HomeBase, storage is handled at the base as directed. It is optional.
HomeBase 3, also identified as S380 or T8030, is compatible. Some HomeBase-connected functions can differ from standalone use and evolve with firmware or app services. HomeBase 2 T8010 is not compatible.

The camera can operate without a HomeBase, but local recording still needs supported storage. Neither storage option is included.
Install the current eufy Security app, sign in, power the camera and scan its QR code. Choose direct-router mode or add a compatible HomeBase first.
For standalone local recording, power down and insert a supported microSD card in the camera, then format it in the app. If using a compatible HomeBase, follow its storage instructions instead. Do not hot-swap the card.
Check Wi-Fi and the intended view, fit the bracket as directed, connect the supplied USB-C cable and plan a protected power arrangement. Leave clearance for movement. Secure the cable route.
Use the app to move the view, select night vision, tune detection and verify actual recordings. Walk the real route in daylight and darkness. Verify a real recording.
