eufy SoloCam S220 Security Camera | Manufacturer Renewed (Fair Condition)
No ribbon. Highly commended anyway.
eufy SoloCam S220, 2K and solar, manufacturer renewed and graded Fair. It is clearly marked — the scuffs and scratches are obvious and we are not going to pretend otherwise. It is also fully functional, and it is the cheapest way to get an S220 onto your wall.
This camera was used, and it wears it openly. Read this bit twice.
It is Manufacturer Renewed — Fair (Grade C). The unit was previously owned, returned, and then refurbished, tested and graded by the manufacturer's own renewal programme. Fair is the honest bottom of that ladder: the scuffs and scratches on the housing are obvious. It is fully functional, and it is priced accordingly.
- Clearly marked cosmetically — scuffs and scratches are obvious, not subtle.
- Fully functional. The grade is about appearance, not performance.
- Refurbishment, testing and grading are the manufacturer's, under their renewal programme. We list the grade they gave it.
- Ships in renewed (non-retail) packaging, and carries our own 12-month CamGuard Australia warranty like every other grade.
Class 22 results, posted
Pinned up outside the pavilion the way they always are: the placing first, then the numbers that earned it. Every figure below is eufy's own published specification for the SoloCam S220.
Four exhibits, one camera
Laid out on the white cloth with their entry tags still attached — what this camera actually does, in the order the judge walked the table.
The solar class
A 0.9W solar panel is built into the top of the camera, feeding a 6,500mAh battery. eufy quotes up to three months of standalone run time, and says roughly three hours of daily sunlight is enough to keep it topped up. Put it somewhere the sun actually lands and charging stops being your job.
The picture class
2K at 2560 × 1440 through an f/1.6 lens, across a 135° view. Wide enough for a driveway, a carport or a back deck without warping the edges into a fisheye. After dark it switches to infrared night vision — there is no spotlight on this model.
The weather class
IP67 rated and specified from −20°C to 50°C, which is a comfortable margin for a Queensland eave in February. It is a compact 96.5 × 81 × 57.5 mm and 320 g, so the bracket does not need to be anchored into anything heroic.
The keeping-it class
Footage records to 8 GB of built-in eMMC storage on the camera itself, and eufy states there are no monthly fees for the S220. On-device AI does human and face detection, there is two-way audio and a 75 dB siren, and if you already run a HomeBase 3 the camera works with it for expandable storage.
“Cosmetics well past their prime and the exhibitor has made no attempt to hide it. Everything it is supposed to do, it does. Highly commended for honesty and value.”
Where it won points, and where it lost them
The judging card, written out properly. This is the grade where the honest bit matters most, so nothing here is buried.
Scuffs and scratches you will see the moment you take the wrapping off, from normal distance, without looking for them. This is the point of the grade and the reason for the price.
Manufacturer Renewed means used, returned, then refurbished and tested by the manufacturer's renewal programme and graded. We do not call it new, because it is not.
Same 2K sensor, same 0.9W solar panel, same IP67 body, same detection and the same app. Fair is a cosmetic verdict, full stop.
Twelve months, CamGuard Australia's own, on top of your Australian Consumer Law rights. A cheap grade does not get a cheap warranty.
It arrives in renewed, non-retail packaging, protectively packed. It is not a gift item and we would not suggest it as one.
Night vision on the S220 is infrared. There is no spotlight and no colour night footage. That is the S220's spec, not a fault with this unit.
5GHz networks are out. Most routers hand out both, but mesh systems occasionally need a nudge to expose a 2.4GHz band to new devices.
It is a used battery in a renewed unit. eufy's figure of up to three months standalone is for a new one. Real-world run time depends on motion volume, temperature, and how much sun the panel actually gets.
eufy lists cloud and NAS as unsupported for the S220. Storage is the built-in 8 GB, or a HomeBase 3 if you already have one.
Why buy it from this pavilion
Four notes off the clipboard — the things that are actually different about buying renewed eufy gear from us.
Australian stock, Australian warranty
Everything ships from our own shelves in Townsville, Queensland. The warranty is ours and we handle it ourselves — there is no offshore ticket queue between you and a person.
Graded honestly, described plainly
We list the manufacturer's grade as it was given, and we describe cosmetic condition in plain words rather than hiding it in a footnote. If a listing says there are marks, expect marks.
Express in the price
Australia Post Express is included on every order over $99.00, dispatched within one business day. No surprise freight line at checkout.
Questions answered before you buy
Send a message. We would much rather talk you out of the wrong camera than process a return, and we will tell you if a different grade or model suits you better.
On the scale, in full
Every figure here is eufy's own published specification for the SoloCam S220. Nothing on this table is our estimate.
Entered, scratched, or see the steward
The gate steward stamps every entry before it reaches the bench. Same idea here — what this camera will and will not do, stamped rather than buried.
Running it on its own
The S220 works standalone on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi with the eufy Security app. No hub to buy, no subscription needed — recordings go to the camera's own 8 GB of storage.
A 5GHz-only network
This camera joins 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only. If your router or mesh will not present a 2.4GHz band to new devices, the S220 cannot get on it. Worth checking before you order.
Adding it to a HomeBase 3
Optional, not required. eufy lists the S220 as working with HomeBase 3 for expandable storage. If you already run one, bring it in; if you do not, the camera is perfectly happy on its own.
Read the scratchings before you back it
The unglamorous half first. We would genuinely rather you walked away here than paid for the wrong thing.
Probably not for you if…
- Cosmetics matter to you even slightly
- It is a gift, or it is going up at eye level by the front door
- You want a factory-sealed retail box
- You expect a camera at this price to look tidy — it will not
- Your Wi-Fi cannot present a 2.4GHz band
- You need 4K, a spotlight, or cloud and NAS recording
Perfect for you if…
- Price is the deciding factor and function is all you actually need
- It is going up a pole, under an eave, in a shed or on a back fence where nobody looks closely
- You are covering a rental, a site, a caravan or a paddock gate
- You want a spare or a second angle without paying twice
- You want it running today, standalone, with no hub and no subscription
- You want an Australian warranty and an Australian person to talk to
Four lines and it is on the bench
About ten minutes, one drill and no electrician. Nothing here needs a licence or a ladder taller than the one you already own.
Charge it first
Give it a full top-up over USB-C on the kitchen bench before it goes anywhere near a ladder.
Enter it in the app
Open the eufy Security app, add the camera, and join it to your 2.4GHz network while you are still standing next to the router.
Pick the sunny spot
Walk the wall at midday and find where the sun actually lands. Mark it with the sticker in the box, drill, and fix the bracket.
Set the detection zones
Clip the camera on, aim it, then trim the activity zones and sensitivity so the neighbour's cat is not filing reports at 3am.
What is actually in the bag
Renewed (non-retail) packaging — protectively packed, not gift-wrapped. Confirm the exact contents against the photos before you order.
Freight, warranty and returns
Three windows, no queue. The admin bit, said plainly.
🚚 Express is in the price
Australia Post Express is included on every order over $99.00. Orders are dispatched within one business day from Townsville, Queensland, and you get the tracking number the moment the label is made.
🛡️ 12 months, ours
A 12-month CamGuard Australia warranty that we provide and honour ourselves. It is not a manufacturer warranty, and it sits in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Faulty or not as described inside 12 months and we cover the return postage — just have your order number and the serial off the camera handy when you write in.
↩️ Changed your mind
30 days from delivery. Change-of-mind returns are buyer-paid on the return postage and the original shipping is not refunded — back to us unused and complete, please, and we will sort the refund from there.
Announcements from the ring
Crackling through the tannoy between the woodchop and the ute muster — the questions we actually get asked.
The unit was previously used, returned, and then refurbished, tested and graded through the manufacturer's own renewal programme. It is not new and we do not describe it as new. The grade on this listing is the grade they assigned.
Obvious. Scuffing and scratching on the housing that you will notice straight away and from a normal distance — not hidden, not subtle, not something we are going to talk around. Nothing cracked or missing, and nothing that stops it recording, detecting or charging. If a marked shell would bother you at all, buy the Good or Excellent grade instead; this listing exists for people who want the lowest price and genuinely do not care what it looks like.
Same camera, same specs, same 12-month CamGuard warranty on all three — the difference is cosmetic grade and price. Excellent is near-new with light handling marks possible. Good has visible scuffs and light scratches and works perfectly. Fair (this one) is clearly marked, fully functional, and the cheapest way in.
No. Renewed units ship in non-retail packaging, packed to travel safely. If you need original retail packaging, this is not the listing for you.
Neither. The S220 runs standalone on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi through the eufy Security app, records to its own 8 GB of built-in storage, and eufy states there are no monthly fees. A HomeBase 3 is optional if you want expandable storage.
eufy quotes up to three months standalone from the 6,500mAh battery, with the 0.9W panel topping it up in the sun. That figure is for a new unit under eufy's conditions. This is a renewed camera with a used battery, so treat it as the ceiling rather than a promise — cold, heavy motion traffic and a shady wall all shorten it.
No to both. The S220 is a 2K camera (2560 × 1440) with infrared night vision and no spotlight. If either of those is a dealbreaker, look at a different model in the range and we will happily point you at one.
We do. It is CamGuard Australia's own 12-month in-house warranty — not a manufacturer warranty — and it operates in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Faulty or not as described inside 12 months and we cover the return postage. Have your order number and the serial off the camera handy when you message us.
Yes, within 30 days of delivery. Change-of-mind returns are buyer-paid on the return postage and the original shipping is not refunded. Back to us unused and complete, please.

Tied to the exhibit
Highly commended, cheaply acquired
One eufy SoloCam S220, manufacturer renewed and graded Fair. Scruffy on the outside, working on the inside, and the same 12-month warranty we honour ourselves from Townsville.
Same camera in two tidier placings: the Red Ribbon (Good) listing has visible wear rather than obvious wear, and the Blue Ribbon (Excellent) listing is near-new cosmetically. Search our other listings if a cleaner shell is worth the difference to you.
