Good to know.
Is a Fair-grade unit worse at its job than a new one?
No. The grade describes the housing, not the electronics: a renewed unit runs the same published spec sheet, with different cosmetics and packaging.
Do I need a HomeBase or a subscription?
No to both. It saves clips to its built-in 8 GB, with no monthly fee for local storage. eufy says notification thumbnails are temporarily stored in the cloud.
How long does the battery last?
eufy rates the 10,000 mAh battery at up to 3 months; weather, Wi-Fi and door traffic change that. It comes out to charge; eufy recommends a full first charge, 6 to 8 hours, from a 5 V / 2 A source. Flat battery? A portable charger in the emergency USB-C port still lets you unlock; it can’t charge the battery.

Screen door: check handle clearance and camera view before buying.
