It turns to follow
A motorised base pans a full 360 degrees and tilts 70 degrees, and on-device AI can track a detected person or vehicle through that range.
Solar, and it comes off
The removable solar panel can mount separately where it catches more sun. eufy’s two-hour daily sunlight figure depends on conditions and use; shaded sites or heavy recording can need extra charging.
Ready for outdoor mounting
The published IP65 weather rating suits outdoor installation. Check Wi-Fi signal and the panel’s sunlight before fixing the mounting brackets.
The honest details
Before you buy.
- Night footage is black and white. Infrared only. There is no spotlight and no colour night mode on this model.
- It turns, but it still looks one way at a time. The 360 degree figure describes how far the motor can turn, not simultaneous coverage. Tracking follows a detected subject through that range.
- Continuous recording needs direct power. On battery or solar alone this camera records events. eufy's own material says 24/7 recording needs a direct power connection.
- Recording needs storage. No microSD card is included. For standalone saving, add a card up to 128 GB; a compatible HomeBase provides an alternative storage route.
- Good means light marks. Small cosmetic marks you may notice up close. They do not affect how it works.
- It alerts. It does not prevent. A camera records, detects and notifies. It is one part of home security, not the whole of it.

What you need
Charge first, then find the sun
The SoloCam E30 uses a rechargeable battery and separate solar panel, with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for standalone setup. Give the panel useful direct sun and test the camera view before final mounting. Continuous recording needs a suitable direct-power setup; solar top-ups alone do not establish that mode.
Recording and storage
Add storage before expecting clips
The E30 has no built-in recording storage. Add a compatible microSD card up to 128 GB or use a supported HomeBase route. Battery use centres on event recordings. Direct-power continuous recording is described separately by eufy, so confirm the required cable, storage route and firmware before relying on it.
- Charge it fully first. Use the USB-C cable before it goes anywhere near a ladder.
- Add a microSD card, or plan a HomeBase. The camera has no built-in storage. Fit a microSD card up to 128GB, or plan to add a compatible HomeBase.
- Pair it next to the router. Open the eufy Security app on a 2.4 GHz network and scan the camera's QR code. Then walk it to the mounting spot and check the signal holds before you drill.
- Mount for sun and view together. The solar panel can sit on the camera or mount separately if that catches more sun. Aim the camera at what matters before locking it down.

Is a Good-grade unit worse at its job than a new one?
No. The grade describes the housing, not the electronics. A renewed unit runs the same published spec sheet. The difference is cosmetic marks and the plain packaging it ships in.
Do I need a HomeBase or a subscription to use it?
No to both. The E30 works on its own over Wi-Fi. Add your own microSD card up to 128GB for local event recording. HomeBase 3, HomeBase 2 and HomeBase Mini are optional add-ons and are not included. There is no monthly fee for local recording.
Can it record 24/7?
eufy's own material says continuous recording needs a direct power connection, plus a microSD card when connected over Wi-Fi or an HDD when paired with a HomeBase. On battery or solar alone it records events, not continuously.
What does night footage look like?
Black and white infrared. There is no spotlight and no colour night vision on this model.
