Before you bring it home
Charge the 10,000 mAh battery and confirm the door’s bore, backset and thickness before installation. The lock provides direct app control without a HomeBase. Optional Matter has platform-specific controller requirements; remote Apple Home control needs a home hub even where a supported iPhone can control the lock locally.
Power and connection
The outside port supplies emergency power
If the main battery is flat, the USB-C port below the exterior lock can supply temporary power for entry. eufy states that this port does not recharge the battery or transfer data. Keep a physical key available as another way in while the battery needs attention.
- Measure the door first. Door thickness 35–55 mm, 60 or 70 mm backset, 38 or 54 mm cross bore, 25 mm edge bore, and at least 25.4 mm of latch-hole depth in the frame. eufy's own installation diagram settles any doubtful measurement.
- Fit the deadbolt and exterior assembly. Standard Phillips screwdriver, the screws eufy includes. Check the latch recess shape before inserting the deadbolt, per the user guide.
- Wire and mount the interior assembly. Run the cables through the mounting plate slot, connect the tailpiece, then fasten the interior assembly screws.
- Fit the rechargeable pack and download the eufy Security app. Seat the correct rechargeable pack, close the cover, then follow the in-app steps to add the lock to your account. This model does not use loose AA batteries.
- Add Matter last, if you want it. Set up the lock in the eufy app first, then follow its Work with Matter flow. A compatible Matter-over-Thread hub is the usual route. eufy also documents local Apple Home control without a hub on supported iPhones with iOS 18 or later; remote Apple Home control still needs a hub. No HomeBase is required for direct Wi-Fi app control. eufy lists T85F0 as unsupported on HomeBase Mini, HomeBase 3 and HomeBase 2. There is no monthly fee for the lock’s own features.
How do I recharge it?
