eufy Smart Lock E30
The fingerprint deadbolt that turns your hand into the key. Press a finger, tap a PIN your hand learns by heart, or open it from the app — no keyring required.
First things first: "Open Box"
This lock is new and has never been used. The only thing that's happened to it is the box: it was opened and the unit repackaged, so it isn't factory-sealed.
Everything inside is complete and unused — the lock, the fittings, the batteries and the manual. Cosmetically it's as-new; it simply doesn't come shrink-wrapped.
And it's covered: our in-house 12-month CamGuard warranty (a CamGuard warranty, not a manufacturer warranty), on top of your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
What one deadbolt remembers
A key remembers nothing — it just sits in a pocket. This lock keeps a roll call of everyone it's learned to let in. Here's the whole record, all verified.
Four ways through your own front door
Press a finger to the reader — up to 50 fingerprints enrolled — and the deadbolt turns. Or tap a PIN on the numeric touch keypad (store up to 100 passcodes, four to eight digits each, handy for family, cleaners or a one-off code for a tradie). Prefer a key in the hand? There's a physical backup key. Away from home? Unlock remotely from the eufy Security app.
You can also just talk to it: voice unlock works through Apple Home, Alexa and Google once the lock is set up in a Matter smart-home. Whichever one you reach for, your hands remember it after about a week.
Locks itself. Keeps the log.
Auto-Lock re-secures the deadbolt on its own — programmable anywhere from 5 seconds to 60 minutes after it opens — and One-Touch Locking snaps it shut the instant you press Lock on the keypad. No more "did I lock it?" from the driveway.
The built-in 2.4GHz Wi-Fi talks straight to the eufy Security app with no bridge or hub, so you can check the lock's status and see the entry log from anywhere. Bluetooth handles the up-close setup and local control.
Two kinds of front-door credential
Every way into a home is either something you carry or something you are. The E30 gives you both — and leans on the ones you can't drop down the back of the couch.
Easy to leave behind
- The house key in your other jacket
- The spare under the mat — everyone's first guess
- A key you have to get cut for the dog-sitter
- A fob that lives wherever you last put it down
Always on you
- Your fingerprint — up to 50 enrolled
- A PIN your hand learns by heart — up to 100 codes, 4–8 digits
- The eufy app, on the phone already in your pocket
- And the physical backup key, in the drawer for the day you want it
Eight AA batteries, about eight months
It runs on eight standard AA batteries (in the box) for up to eight months at around ten unlocks a day, then it's a two-minute swap — no proprietary battery pack to hunt down, no charging cradle to remember.
And if the batteries ever die at the worst possible moment, there's a USB-C port on the underside of the exterior escutcheon for emergency power — touch a power bank to it and you're in. (It's a jump-start, not a charger — see the honest bit.)
"The key under the mat served its decades. Now your finger does the job — nothing to carry, nothing to cut, nothing to leave in your other jacket."— The vibe, in one sentence
The honest bit
We'd rather you knew the catches before it lands on your doorstep. Here they are, plainly:
This is an Open Box unit: new and never used, but the retail box was opened and the unit repackaged, so it isn't shrink-wrapped. Everything inside is complete and unused. If you specifically need a factory-sealed box, this isn't your listing.
The E30 is built for standard deadbolt door prep: door thickness 35–55mm, backset 60mm or 70mm (2-3/8" or 2-3/4"), cross-bore 38–54mm with a 25mm edge bore, on wooden or steel doors. Plenty of Aussie doors match, but measure yours before you buy — a mismatched door is the most common fitment surprise with smart locks.
This lock is covered by CamGuard's own 12-month in-house warranty (a CamGuard warranty, not a manufacturer warranty), alongside your rights under Australian Consumer Law. No manufacturer warranty comes with it, so if that's what you're after, this isn't the listing.
The built-in Wi-Fi is for the eufy app. To control the lock through Apple Home, Alexa, Google or SmartThings you'll need a Thread hub / Matter hub — a HomePod, Apple TV 4K, a newer Echo, or a Nest/SmartThings hub. Reviewers found Matter setup finicky at launch, so treat ecosystem control as a bonus, not the headline.
It won't join a 5GHz-only network (nearly all routers broadcast 2.4GHz too — check yours). The lock connects on 2.4GHz channels 1–11; if your router is set to channel 12 or 13, switch it to 1–11 during pairing. Easy fix, and the first thing we'd check if it won't connect.
That port on the bottom exists to power a flat lock long enough to open it. It does not recharge the AA batteries — when they're low, you swap them.
eufy also sells a SoloCam E30, an Indoor Cam E30 and a Floodlight E30 — all cameras. This listing is the Smart Lock E30 (T85F1). Every spec here is verified for the lock, not the cameras.

Will it suit your setup?
Tick this off before you commit — especially the door and the Wi-Fi.
eufy Security app over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi — built in, no bridge or hub required for app control.
Fingerprint, PIN, physical key and app — four ways in, all working on the one lock.
Standard pre-bored deadbolt doors — wooden or steel, door thickness 35–55mm, backset 60mm or 70mm, cross-bore 38–54mm. Measure yours first.
Apple Home, Alexa, Google & SmartThings — via Matter, which runs over Thread. You'll need a Thread hub / Matter hub (HomePod, Apple TV 4K, newer Echo, Nest or SmartThings hub) for ecosystem control.
2.4GHz Wi-Fi channels — the lock connects on channels 1–11. If your router is set to channel 12 or 13, switch it to 1–11 during pairing.
5GHz-only Wi-Fi — it needs a 2.4GHz network (nearly all home routers provide one).
Doors outside the spec — thicknesses under 35mm or over 55mm, or door types other than wooden/steel, aren't covered by the fitment range.
Battery charging via USB-C — that port is emergency power only; the AA batteries are swap-only.
Probably not for you if…
- Your door is thinner than 35mm, thicker than 55mm, or not wooden/steel
- You need a factory-sealed retail box that has never been opened
- You're only after Matter and don't have a Thread hub
- Your network is 5GHz-only and can't broadcast 2.4GHz
Perfect for…
- Standard timber or steel front doors with a deadbolt cut-out
- Households that want fingerprint + PIN + key + app on one lock
- Anyone who'd rather swap AA batteries than charge a lock
- Buyers who want a new, unused lock at a sharper price than sealed retail
Fitted and paired in four steps
Check thickness (35–55mm), backset (60/70mm) and bore before anything else.
Swap in the latch and strike plate, then mount the exterior and interior units.
Drop in the eight AA batteries (included) and power it up.
Add it in eufy Security over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi — keep the router on channels 1–11.

Questions we'd ask too
The questions we get asked most, answered straight.
What exactly does "Open Box" mean?
The lock is new and has never been used — the retail box was simply opened and the unit repackaged, so it isn't factory-sealed. Everything inside is complete and unused, and it's covered by our 12-month CamGuard warranty (a CamGuard warranty, not a manufacturer one).
Is it actually new, or used?
New and never used. The only difference from sealed retail is the packaging — the box was opened and the unit repackaged. Cosmetically it's as-new, with everything present inside.
Will it fit my door?
It's built for standard pre-bored deadbolt prep: door thickness 35–55mm, backset 60mm or 70mm (2-3/8" or 2-3/4"), cross-bore 38–54mm with a 25mm edge bore, on wooden or steel doors. Many Australian doors match those measurements — but measure yours before buying, as a mismatched door is the most common fitment surprise with smart locks.
Is this the E30 or the E31?
This is the Smart Lock E30 (model T85F1). It's sometimes confused with the Smart Lock E31 (T85F0) — that's a separate, different lock. Everything in this listing is verified for the E30.
Does it need a hub or a subscription?
No subscription, ever. For the eufy Security app it needs no hub — the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi is built in. A hub only comes into it if you want Matter control through Apple Home, Alexa, Google or SmartThings, which runs over Thread and needs a Thread hub / Matter hub.
What if it won't connect to my Wi-Fi?
First check you're on a 2.4GHz network (not 5GHz-only). Then check your router's 2.4GHz channel — the lock connects on channels 1–11, and a router set to channel 12 or 13 can block pairing. Switch the channel during setup and you're away.
How long do the batteries last, and what's the USB-C port for?
Eight AA batteries (included) last up to eight months at around ten unlocks a day, then it's a quick swap. The USB-C port on the underside is for emergency power only — if the batteries die, touch a power bank to it to open the lock. It does not recharge the batteries.
Is this the camera or the lock? "E30" is everywhere.
The lock. eufy reuses "E30" across several cameras (SoloCam, Indoor Cam, Floodlight), but this is the Smart Lock E30, model T85F1. Every spec in this listing is verified for the lock.
