eufy's product page rates the 8 AA batteries for about eight months at ten unlocks a day. Its support introduction gives four months on that basis. These published estimates disagree; actual life varies with use and conditions.

Reads a registered fingerprint in less than 0.3 seconds and stores up to 50 of them, alongside up to 100 passcodes.
No bridge, no hub
Built-in Wi-Fi talks straight to the eufy Security app. On eufy's own pages it does not work with eufy HomeBase, Apple HomeKit, Matter or IFTTT.

Runs on eight AA batteries. eufy’s product page gives about eight months, while its support introduction gives four months at ten daily unlocks. Both are estimates; actual use and conditions matter.
The honest details
Before you buy.
- It needs a compatible door. 35 to 55 mm thick, with the crossbore centre more than 45 mm below the top of the handleset, on a standard bored deadbolt door. Not for mortise locks. Measure before you buy.
- No HomeBase, no HomeKit, no Matter, no IFTTT. It runs on its own Wi-Fi and the eufy Security app only, at least for now, on eufy's own pages.
- Battery life is a rating, not a guarantee. eufy's eight months assumes typical use. Heavy daily traffic or cold weather can bring that down.
- It secures the door. It does not replace common sense. A smart lock is one part of home security, not the whole of it.
- eufy's published weather ratings differ. The product page states IP53; its C220 support introduction states IP54 for the keypad. We disclose both and recommend a sheltered installation; do not assume a higher rating.

Before you bring it home
The C220 connects directly to the eufy app over its built-in Wi-Fi and uses eight AA batteries. No HomeBase or separate bridge is required. Measure the deadbolt position and door thickness first, and check Wi-Fi coverage at the installed lock rather than beside the router.
- Measure the door first. Confirm 35 to 55 mm thickness and more than 45 mm between the crossbore centre and the top of the handleset before anything comes out of the box.
- Fit the AA batteries. 8 AA batteries power the lock and its low-battery alerts. There is no separate charging step.
- Pair it on the eufy Security app. Built-in Wi-Fi connects straight to the app. No bridge or hub to add.
- Register fingerprints and passcodes. Up to 50 fingerprints and 100 passcodes, plus the 2 physical keys as a fallback.

Do I need a HomeBase or a hub?
No. eufy's own FAQ says it plainly: built-in Wi-Fi connects directly, and it does not work with eufy HomeBase or any Wi-Fi bridge.
Will it fit my door?
Only if the door is a standard bored deadbolt between 35 and 55 mm thick, with the crossbore centre more than 45 mm below the top of the handleset. It is not for mortise locks. Measure first.
Does it work with Apple HomeKit or Matter?
Not yet, on eufy's own product page. It works with the eufy Security app and with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Door fit is the hard gate
eufy specifies a standard pre-bored deadbolt fit, 35–55 mm door thickness, more than 45 mm from crossbore centre to the top of a handleset, and no mortise lock. Door preparation varies. Measure the exact door and compare the installation diagram before ordering.
Hub and platform boundaries
Built-in Wi-Fi means no bridge is required. It does not work with HomeBase, Apple HomeKit, Matter or IFTTT. It can integrate with supported eufy doorbell routines inside the eufy Security app.
