This replaces a lever handleset, not a deadbolt or a mortice/euro-cylinder lock. It carries an ANSI/BHMA Grade 3 residential hardware rating.
Measure before you order
eufy publishes a bore hole of 2 1/8 in, a backset of 2 3/8 in or 2 3/4 in, and a door thickness of 35–55 mm (exact T85L0 user guide). Check your own door against these first.
The honest details
Before you buy.
- It's a lever lock, not a deadbolt. It replaces a lever handleset. If you specifically want a deadbolt, this isn't that product.
- The weather rating is IP53. eufy's own figure. That covers dust and spraying water, not a fully exposed, driving-rain spot.
- No Apple Home or Matter. eufy's own FAQ states it isn't compatible with these yet. It works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
- Good means light marks. Small cosmetic marks you may notice up close. They do not affect how it works.
- Direct Wi-Fi and device integration are separate. The lock connects directly to Wi-Fi and supports integration with eufy doorbells and cameras. This does not mean it pairs to a HomeBase: eufy's T85L0 compatibility row marks HomeBase Mini, HomeBase 3 and HomeBase 2 unsupported.

What you need
Before you bring it home
The C33 replaces a lever handleset, not a deadbolt. It uses eight AA batteries and its own Wi-Fi connection to the eufy app, with no HomeBase required. For card entry, use supported encrypted eufy NFC cards; an ordinary bank card or transport card is not a substitute.
- Measure your door first. Check bore hole (2 1/8 in), backset (2 3/8 in or 2 3/4 in) and door thickness (35–55 mm (exact T85L0 user guide)) against eufy's published figures before you order or fit anything.
- Complete the assembly, then insert the batteries. Follow the T85L0 guide: fit the exterior and interior assemblies, connect the cable, fasten screws and fit the silicone plug, then insert the eight AA batteries. Leave the battery cover off until app setup is complete. USB-C supplies emergency power only.
- Pair it in the eufy app. The lock connects to your Wi-Fi directly; there is no HomeBase step in that process.
- Enrol your unlock methods. Add fingerprints (up to 50), set passcodes (up to 100), register a compatible encrypted eufy NFC card, and keep the physical key somewhere known as backup.

Is a Good-grade unit worse at its job than a new one?
No. The grade describes the housing, not the electronics. A renewed unit runs the same published spec sheet. The difference is cosmetic marks and the plain packaging it ships in.
Do I need a HomeBase to use this lock?
No. Built-in Wi-Fi connects the lock directly to the eufy app. Camera and doorbell app integration is a separate capability; HomeBase Mini, HomeBase 3 and HomeBase 2 are unsupported for T85L0.
Is this a deadbolt?
No. eufy's own FAQ describes it as a smart lever lock that replaces a lever handleset, not a deadbolt or a mortice/euro-cylinder lock.
What size door does it fit?

This unit is graded Good · a solid mid renewed grade. Expect visible cosmetic wear you'd notice on close inspection, though nothing that affects how it works. It arrives in renewed (non-retail) packaging rather than a sealed retail box.

The handle already knows you
This is the lever, not the deadbolt. The fingerprint reader sits right in the grip, so the natural motion of grabbing the handle and pushing down is the same motion that unlocks it. Arms full of shopping, kids on the hip · you don't stop, you don't hunt for keys, you just carry on through.
When you leave, countdown auto-lock can relock after its configured delay following an unlock; it does not sense whether the door has closed, so "did I lock up?" stops being a thing you wonder about halfway down the street.

Here's the honest homework. The C33 is built for standard pre-bored doors. Most modern pre-bored doors take it in about 15 minutes with no drilling · but a mismatched door means prep, so measure yours against these before you order.

Bore, backset and thickness are all listed under "Mind the threshold" above. On a matching pre-bored door it's a ~15-minute, no-drill fit; on a door that doesn't match, expect some prep. Measure first · this is the single most common fitment surprise with smart locks.
It's a lever lock, not a deadbolt.
It replaces a lever handleset and carries an ANSI/BHMA Grade 3 (residential) rating. It fits both left- and right-hand doors. If you specifically want a deadbolt, this isn't that product.
IP53 · sheltered, not stormproof.
Rated IP53: it handles dust and spraying water, which suits a normal front door under an eave or verandah. It is not rated for a fully exposed gate copping horizontal rain and sun all day.
