This is the house sitter with a few scratches on the ute and fifteen years of other people's spare keys on the ring. A 2K pan-and-tilt indoor camera that sweeps the whole room and lets you look in from anywhere. It has knocks on it. It does the job anyway, and it costs less than the pretty one.

This is a Manufacturer Renewed unit, graded Good. It was owned and used before you got to it. It went back to the manufacturer's renewal programme, where it was refurbished and tested, and it came out working exactly as it should.
Good is our honest, marked-up grade. Expect visible cosmetic wear on the housing — scuffs and light scratches you can see without hunting for them. None of it touches the lens, the motor or the picture. It arrives in renewed packaging, not the retail box.

Two-way audio. Talk through the camera from your phone. Ideal for "get off the bench" and for startling a courier who thought nobody was home.
Keep going after dark
Infrared night vision to 32.8 ft (about 10 m). No spotlight on the E220, so night footage comes back infrared black and white, not colour.

Local microSD recording with no monthly subscription. eufy also lists optional cloud and NAS via RTSP. The card is not included — that one's on you.
Filter out the rubbish alerts
AI detection: motion, human, pet, audio and crying. Fewer notifications for a curtain moving, more for the things you'd actually want to see.
Only mind the bit that matters
Activity zones. In the eufy Security app: Camera Settings → Motion Detection → Activity Zone → tap +. Draw a rectangle or a hexagon and only motion inside it triggers anything.
Look the other way when you're home
Privacy Mode. eufy describes it as physically rotating the lens to face away and pausing all recording and live streaming, switched from the app. A brief mechanical noise while it turns is normal, per eufy. Full picture in "the honest bit" below.
Get on with the rest of the house
Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Note that HomeKit streams this camera at 1080p, and activity zones, pet commands and sound detection aren't available through HomeKit — they're in the eufy Security app.

It has been used, and you'll be able to tell
Manufacturer Renewed, Grade Good. Refurbished and tested by the manufacturer's renewal programme — not by us. Expect visible cosmetic wear: scuffs and light scratches on the plastic housing, the sort of marks a camera picks up from being moved, mounted and dusted around. It works perfectly and the picture is unaffected, but if a flawless finish matters to you, buy the Excellent grade instead of being disappointed by this one.

Renewed packaging, not a retail box
It arrives in the manufacturer's renewed packaging. Plain, functional, nothing glossy. If you're buying it as a gift and want the unboxing to look the part, this isn't the grade for it.

Where an indoor camera should and shouldn't go
Living rooms, hallways, the entry, the room the dog gets into strife in — all fine. Bathrooms and bedrooms other people use are not. If someone else is in the house — a house sitter, a flatmate, a cleaner, guests — tell them the camera is there and where it points. It's basic decency, and audio recording in particular is regulated differently from state to state. We sell cameras, not legal advice; if you're unsure about recording other people, check your state's rules.

Privacy Mode is a software toggle, not a shutter
eufy describes Privacy Mode as rotating the lens to face away and stopping all recording and live streaming, switched on in the eufy Security app. There is no sliding lens cover on the body, and eufy's own spec comparison for this model leaves the privacy-mode box unticked even though its support material describes the feature — so you're getting both facts from us. If you want the camera definitively seeing and hearing nothing, pull the plug out. That's the version that can't be argued with.

Indoors only, and it lives on a power point
Not weatherproof. Not the patio, not the carport, not under the eaves. It runs from a 5V/2A USB adapter on a 6.7 ft cable, so it needs mains power — there's no battery, which also means no camera during a blackout.

2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only
The E220 needs a 2.4 GHz band. If your router only broadcasts 5 GHz, or your mesh buries the 2.4 GHz network, sort that before you sit down to set the camera up.

No memory card included
Local recording is the main reason to own this camera, and the microSD card that makes it work isn't in the box. Buy one at the same time or you'll be limited to watching live.

Night footage is black and white
No spotlight on this model, so after dark you get infrared to about 10 metres, in monochrome. If colour at night is on your list, look at a different camera.

It whirrs when it moves
Motorised head, so there's a mechanical sound when it pans, tilts or swings into Privacy Mode. eufy's own guidance says a brief noise while the lens moves is normal. Worth thinking about before you put it in a quiet room where something is trying to sleep.

HomeKit is the cut-down version
Through Apple HomeKit you get a 1080p stream rather than the camera's native 2K, and activity zones, pet commands and sound detection aren't available there. The eufy Security app has everything.

It isn't a baby monitor
There's software-based crying detection that alerts on loud noise, and people do use one in a nursery for a general look-in. It has none of the purpose-built parts of a real baby monitor — no parent unit, no infant-mode interface.

CamGuard Australia is an independent reseller. The 12-month warranty on this unit is provided and honoured by us, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. It is not a manufacturer warranty, and a Good-grade unit gets exactly the same 12 months as an Excellent one.

Every kitchen has the tin that promises shortbread and delivers a tape measure, four buttons and a threaded needle. This listing would rather tell you what's in it up front.

How bad is the wear, honestly?+
Visible. That's the whole point of the Good grade and we're not going to soften it. Expect scuffs and light scratches on the plastic housing — the kind of marks a camera collects from being handled, mounted, unmounted and wiped down over a couple of years. You'll notice them when you take it out of the packaging, not only under a torch.
What you won't find is damage that affects how it works. The lens, the motor, the microphone, the speaker and the picture are all unaffected — it was refurbished and tested through the manufacturer's renewal programme and came out working to spec.
If you want one where the marks are hard to find, we list the same camera in Grade Excellent: near-new to look at, light handling marks at worst, and a higher price for the privilege.
What does "Manufacturer Renewed" actually mean?+
The camera was owned and used by somebody before you. It went back through the manufacturer's renewal programme, where it was refurbished and tested, and it came out working as it should. That work and that testing are the manufacturer's — not ours, and we won't claim credit for a process we didn't run.
It arrives in renewed packaging rather than the retail box.
Is the Good grade worse inside than the Excellent one?+
No. The grade describes the outside. Both grades went through the same manufacturer renewal programme, both are the same T8410121 camera with the same 2K sensor and the same motor, and both carry the same 12-month CamGuard warranty. The difference you're paying for is how it looks on the shelf.
Do I need a HomeBase or a hub?+
No. eufy is explicit that no HomeBase or separate hub is required for the E220 — it joins your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi directly and sets up in the eufy Security app.
Is there a monthly fee?+
Not for local recording. eufy states that recording to a microSD card requires no monthly subscription. Cloud features are optional and priced by eufy under their own plans. The card itself isn't included, so factor one in.
Can I stop it watching when I'm home?+
eufy describes a Privacy Mode you switch on in the eufy Security app: the camera rotates the lens to face away from the room and stops all recording and live streaming. A brief mechanical noise while the lens turns is normal, per eufy's own guidance.
The honest caveat: there's no sliding shutter on the body you can flick across by hand, and eufy's own spec comparison table for this model doesn't tick a privacy-mode box even though its support material describes the feature. We'd rather give you both than pick the flattering one. If you want certainty instead of a software promise, unplug it — it's mains powered, so that's a two-second job.
Will it follow my dog around the room?+
Possibly, but don't buy it for that. eufy's spec comparison for the E220 lists AI tracking as human only, while its FAQ mentions following a person or a pet. Where eufy's own material disagrees, we quote you the conservative version. Pet detection is separate and is listed for this model — that's about the alerts you get, not about the head turning.
Can I put it out under the eaves?+
No. eufy is blunt: indoor use only, not weatherproof, not designed for any environment exposed to rain or moisture. A North Queensland wet season will finish it, and that isn't something a warranty covers.
Is it a baby monitor?+
