The Biscuit Tin Has Witnesses

Everyone was asleep.
Apparently.

An indoor camera that pans, tracks movement and sees in the dark belongs beside the household's most suspiciously empty biscuit tin.

eufy Indoor Cam C220 · Open Box · HomeBase optional
White eufy Security Indoor Cam C220 with pan-and-tilt head
2K indoor viewing. An unusually observant kitchen companion.
BISCUITSPLEASE REPLACE THE LID.
AND THE BISCUITS.

One crumb. Four explanations.

The C220 can show activity in view. It cannot identify biscuits, count snacks or decide who deserves the last one.

Open box.
Fresh start.

New, unused, open-box stock. This is not a factory-sealed retail unit and it is not manufacturer renewed. The condition refers to the camera; the biscuit tin is fictional.

Product imagery illustrates the model. Our own 12-month warranty applies alongside your Australian Consumer Law rights.

01 · A different angle on “wasn't me”

The excuse stays put.
The camera can turn.

The C220's pan-and-tilt design lets you look around a room from the app. Its 360° horizontal pan range gives you more choice of viewing direction than a fixed camera aimed at one spot.

Motion tracking can turn the camera towards detected movement. Useful for checking a pet crossing the kitchen or activity near the bench, rather than returning to the same empty corner.

Kitchen note: 360° describes the pan range, not a simultaneous view of the whole room. The cupboard can still stand in the way.

360°PAN RANGE · NOT BISCUIT COUNT
Recipe for a clearer look
  1. Start with a 2K image.
  2. Choose a useful view of the room.
  3. Add light where possible.
  4. Leave the elaborate explanation to the household.
SERVES ONE CAMERA
02 · Ingredients matter

Less squinting.
More context.

2K resolution brings detail to everyday indoor viewing: checking whether the pet is settled, looking at activity in a room, or seeing what prompted an alert.

A good camera position matters just as much as a number on the box. Aim across the area you want to see and keep the lens clear of nearby objects. The biscuit tin is a prop, not a recommended lens cover.

Recipe correction: “2K” is image resolution. It is not a promise to read every label across the kitchen.

03 · After the kettle clocks off

Lights out.
Snack shift on.

Infrared night vision supports viewing when the room is dark. The C220 can keep an eye on indoor activity without relying on the kitchen light being left on.

Night-vision footage is monochrome. The camera is not offering colour identification of the chocolate selection at midnight, however important that feels at breakfast.

Night-shift note: position it indoors, away from reflections and obstructions. A window can reflect infrared light back towards the lens.

“Could you leave a couple for everyone else?”

04 · A word from the other room

You can join
the conversation.

The built-in microphone and speaker support two-way audio through the app. Listen and speak when you want to check in with someone at home or talk to a pet.

It is a handy way to be heard without standing in the kitchen. Whether the recipient follows your very reasonable biscuit instructions remains a household matter.

Tea-break correction: audio needs a working connection. The camera is not a guaranteed intercom or an emergency communication service.

05 · Put the history somewhere

A place for clips.
Not just crumbs.

Use a compatible microSD card for local recording. The C220 supports cards up to 128GB; a card is purchased separately. Choose recording settings in the app rather than assuming that live viewing automatically creates a saved history.

Continuous recording is available with suitable storage and setup. Recording time varies with capacity, quality and activity. Export footage you want to keep before it is overwritten.

Pantry correction: local storage does not need a cloud-storage subscription. The jar labelled “forever” has been removed.

Illustrated storage jars. Recording is stored electronically, not in kitchenware.

06 · Even witnesses get a break

Your home.
Your off switch.

Activate privacy mode when you do not want the camera monitoring the room. The C220 turns towards its preset privacy position, giving the household a deliberate way to pause observation.

Check the mode in the app before relying on it. Talk to the people who share the space about where the camera sits and when it is used.

Household note: being able to check on home does not mean every cup of tea needs an audience.

07 · No compulsory extra appliance

The bench is crowded enough.

A HomeBase is not required for standalone use. Start with the camera, power, your compatible home Wi-Fi network and the eufy app; add a microSD card if you want local recording.

HomeBase 3 is an optional storage route, sold separately. For the C220, eufy's product FAQ describes that pairing as storage support only. Do not buy this camera expecting the full set of advanced HomeBase 3 AI features.

Bench-space correction: another eufy logo is not proof of compatibility. Update the hub's firmware before combining devices.

08 · Notices above the bench

Read before blaming the camera.

  • Keep the power connected. The C220 is a plug-in camera, not a battery model. An empty socket does not count as a power-saving feature.
  • Use 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.A 5GHz-only network will not do. The camera cannot connect to the household's confidence.
  • Indoor use only. This camera belongs inside. The barbecue has requested a separate outdoor model.
  • Detection has limits.Placement, lighting and settings affect results. A missed alert does not settle the biscuit argument.

This camera records; it does not prevent incidents. It cannot physically protect property or provide a monitored response.

    Quick Start Guide

A microSD card and HomeBase are not included. Neither are the tin, mug or other illustrated kitchen props.

Power at the ready

A compatible Australian RCM-marked adapter is supplied where the original package has an overseas adapter, in line with our supplied-stock policy.

Kitchen note: the power cable is part of the setup. Hiding it behind the tin does not make the camera cordless.

11 · Before the first cuppa

Set up the view.
Then put the kettle on.

Pair near your router first, then move the camera to its intended indoor position. Check the live view there before making the placement permanent.

Recipe note: a solid shelf is useful. A cupboard door that closes across the lens is less useful.

  1. Connect the camera to power.Use the supplied compatible adapter and cable. Place it on a stable surface with room for the head to move.
  2. Add it in the eufy app.Follow the camera's setup prompts and connect it to your 2.4GHz home Wi-Fi network.
  3. Choose and configure storage. If using a separately purchased microSD card, insert and initialise it as the instructions direct. Select the recording mode you want.
  4. Adjust the room view and alerts.Try pan, tilt, tracking and two-way audio. Confirm the camera sees the intended area and review privacy mode before everyday use.
12 · Different kitchen, different recipe

Leave this one
on the shelf if…

The right camera is the one that suits your room and setup. The kitchen committee would rather tell you now than discover the wrong ingredient after delivery.

The biscuit tin has plenty of opinions. Compatibility still gets the final word.

  • You need an outdoor camera. The C220 is for indoor use, not an exposed patio or driveway.
  • You need battery operation. It needs a continuous power connection. Choose a battery model for a location without suitable power.
  • Your network is 5GHz-only.This model needs 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
  • You want footage history without storage.Budget for a compatible card or an appropriate alternative storage setup.
  • You expect every HomeBase AI upgrade. The C220's published HomeBase 3 support is storage-only, not a promise of the hub's full AI feature set.
13 · Questions while the kettle boils

A few things
worth clearing up.

Can I start without buying a HomeBase?

Yes. The C220 works as a standalone indoor camera with compatible Wi-Fi, power and app setup. A microSD card, purchased separately, gives you local recording. HomeBase 3 is an optional storage route. The kitchen bench does not need another box merely to qualify for a live view.

Does “Open Box” mean someone has used it?

This listing is for new, unused open-box stock, not a used or manufacturer-renewed camera. It is not sold as factory-sealed. Our own 12-month warranty applies, with your Australian Consumer Law rights alongside it. The packaging condition and the camera's capabilities are separate facts; neither needs an elaborate biscuit alibi.

Will it save recordings before I add a card?

Do not assume that a live view means recordings are being stored. Set up a compatible microSD card or a supported alternative storage arrangement and confirm recording in the app. A microSD card is not included. The camera supports cards up to 128GB; the amount of saved history depends on your settings.

Does the camera watch every direction at once?

No. It has a 360° horizontal pan range, which means the head can turn around rather than remaining fixed in one direction. It does not produce a simultaneous panoramic recording of every angle. Tracking follows detected motion subject to conditions, and furniture or other obstacles can block what the lens sees.

Can I put it beside a window to watch outside?

This is an indoor camera. Shooting through glass can introduce reflections, particularly when infrared night vision is active, so it is not a substitute for a properly positioned outdoor model. Choose a clear indoor view and keep the camera away from water, heat and other unsuitable kitchen locations.

What happens when I want privacy?

Use the camera's privacy mode in the app and confirm it is active. The C220 turns towards its preset privacy position rather than continuing to face the room normally. Agree placement and use with people sharing the home. Even a very interesting biscuit tin does not need to be watched all the time.
