What you need
Start beside the router
HomeBase 2 needs its correct supplied power adapter and an Ethernet connection to your router for initial setup. Add compatible cameras or sensors through the eufy app. It is a hub, so it does not create footage by itself. Check each camera’s exact model against the compatibility section before adding it.
Recording and storage
A shared local event archive
HomeBase 2 has 16 GB of built-in storage for compatible devices. Their recording modes and activity determine how quickly it fills. Local storage does not require a monthly cloud plan. Official storage-expansion guidance has changed and conflicts across pages, so confirm your firmware and supported expansion route before purchasing extra storage.
Power and connection
The camera battery does not power the hub
HomeBase 2 stops during a mains outage unless a suitable backup supply keeps it running. For the 2C and 2C Pro, eufy documents operation during internet-only loss while the hub remains powered, but warns that a router or hub restart can lose outage-period clips. This is not a blanket guarantee for every paired device.
- Connect to your router. Use the supplied Ethernet cable and power adapter.
- Add HomeBase 2 in the app. Follow Add Device, scan the hub code and complete the pairing instructions.
