Look elsewhere if
- You need 24/7 on battery. Continuous recording needs direct power, storage and current firmware.
- Your Wi-Fi is 5 GHz only. It connects on 2.4 GHz.
- You run HomeBase 2, Mini or a eufy NVR. None are supported.
- Your setup depends on Apple Home. HomeKit isn't supported.
- You want PoE wiring. This is the wireless S4, not the PoE model.

Charge
Fully charge the removable battery using the supplied USB charging cable and a suitable adapter of your own.
- Step 2
Connect
Add the S4 in the eufy app near your router. Check the 2.4 GHz signal at the intended mounting position.
- Step 3
Position
Aim the fixed lens at your main approach. Mount the solar panel on the camera or separately for useful sunlight.
- Step 4
Fine-tune
Set the PTZ starting view and detection zones. Walk the approach and check alerts and tracking before finalising placement.
A few useful answers.
Do I need a HomeBase or a subscription to use it?
No to either, for standalone use. The S4 works on its own over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and saves clips to its built-in 32 GB. HomeBase S380 (HomeBase 3) is an optional add-on for extra features and is not included; the HomeBase Professional S1 pairs too.
Does it record all day, every day?
Only when wired to direct power, with current camera firmware and a microSD card or a HomeBase 3 hard drive. On battery or solar power it records events, not a continuous feed.
Does it work with Apple Home?
No. Apple HomeKit is not supported on the S4, so do not choose it for a setup that relies on Apple Home. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant are supported.
What does the solar panel change?
It can replenish the battery when suitable light is available. Deep shade, prolonged cloud, heavy activity and demanding settings can increase the need for manual charging. Battery and solar use remain event-based; they do not enable continuous recording without the direct-power setup described above.
How far does the camera turn?
eufy's US comparison table lists 355° pan and 70° tilt for the moving head. Its 360° headline describes surrounding coverage, not unlimited mechanical rotation. The upper camera keeps its fixed wide view while the lower head moves.
How quickly will it leave Townsville?
We do our best to get orders out the same day. Same day to 1 business day is our typical dispatch time from Townsville, Queensland. During busy periods it can take a little longer, though that's rare. Australia Post delivery time is on top of dispatch.
