This unit is Manufacturer Renewed, Excellent grade. Plain English: it was used, it went back to the manufacturer's renewal programme, and it was refurbished and tested there before it came to us. Excellent is the top renewed grade — expect light handling marks at worst, and nothing that changes what it records.
It arrives in renewed, non-retail packaging, not a sealed eufy retail box. We don't call it new, because it isn't. What we do call it is a genuine eufy camera that cost less than a sealed one and does the same job on your wall.

The manufacturer's renewal process — that's where the refurbishment and testing happen, not on our bench.

Every unit's serial number is photographed and logged at dispatch, so your warranty claim is never a matter of memory.

Half a year between charges
A 6700mAh battery and up to 180 days from a single charge of roughly five hours. The committee's favourite kind of member: turns up, does the job, never needs chasing. Charging is Micro-USB, and the cable's in the pack.

Colour after dark, not grey soup
This is the bit the plain 2C doesn't have. A built-in spotlight lights the area so you get colour clarity in low light — the difference between "a dark car" and "a white ute with a ladder rack". Standard infrared night vision is there as well if you'd rather it stayed discreet.

It knows a person from a possum
Built-in human detection works off body shape and face patterns, and smart image enhancement identifies and focuses on people in the shot. Fewer 3am alerts for a moth doing laps of the sensor.

The footage stays at the hall
Recording goes to the 16GB eMMC inside your HomeBase — up to three months of it — with AES-128 encryption and no monthly fee to record or watch it back. Cloud is an option you choose, not a toll you pay.

Every camera has catches. A committee that hides them gets a very awkward AGM. Here are ours, minuted properly, before you buy rather than after.

5.1
No HomeBase, no camera. Full stop.
This is an add-on. It must pair to a eufy HomeBase (HomeBase 2 or HomeBase 3) to do anything at all. There is no standalone mode, no microSD slot in the camera, no direct-to-phone option. If you don't already own a HomeBase, buy one before you buy this — it is not in this pack.
5.2
Micro-USB. Not USB-C.
Charging is Micro-USB, and the cable is included. The catch worth knowing: if you plan to add a solar panel, it has to be a Micro-USB solar panel. A USB-C panel physically will not plug into this camera.
5.3
It was used before it was renewed.
Manufacturer Renewed means exactly that. Excellent is the top grade, so light handling marks are possible. If a flawless housing matters more to you than the saving, buy a sealed one instead — genuinely, no hard feelings.

Renewed packaging, not a retail box.
It arrives in plain renewed packaging. If this is a gift and the box matters, that's worth knowing now.

The warranty is ours, not the manufacturer's.
You get a 12-month CamGuard warranty that we honour ourselves, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. It is not a manufacturer warranty and we won't dress it up as one.

2K, not 4K.
2K is plenty for plates, faces and "which way did they go" at normal driveway distances. It is not a 4K camera and we're not going to imply it is.

No power adapter in the pack.
You get the Micro-USB cable. Charge it from any USB port, phone charger or power bank you already own.

Battery life is a range, not a promise.
Up to 180 days is eufy's figure. A camera pointed at a busy footpath with the spotlight firing all night will want charging sooner. Point it at what you actually care about and it lasts.

Open the eufy Security app, choose Add Device, and pair it to the HomeBase you already have running.

Around 2 to 2.5 metres up, angled slightly down, pointed at the path people actually walk.

Screw the bracket to the wall with the included pack, twist the camera on, set your activity zone. Done.

Do I genuinely need a HomeBase, or is that an upsell?

Genuinely need one. This is an add-on camera and a eufy HomeBase is what it records to and connects through. With no HomeBase it will not set up, will not stream and will not record. If you don't own one, buy the HomeBase first.

I've got a HomeBase 3. Someone told me this camera is HomeBase 2 only.

They were mistaken. eufy's own HomeBase 3 compatibility list shows the 2C Pro (T8142) as compatible with HomeBase 3 for both storage and its BionicMind features. HomeBase 2 works, HomeBase 3 works. Both are fine.

It means the camera was previously used, then went through the manufacturer's renewal programme where it was refurbished and tested. Excellent is the top renewed grade: fully working, with light handling marks at most. It comes to you in renewed, non-retail packaging. It is not new and we don't describe it as new.

Only if it's a Micro-USB panel. This camera's port is Micro-USB, so eufy's USB-C panel will not plug in — no adapter workaround worth trusting outdoors. Check the plug on your panel before you order.

Realistically, how long does the battery last?
The chair
eufy's figure is up to 180 days from a single five-hour charge on a 6700mAh battery. Real life depends on traffic: a quiet side gate gets near that, a busy footpath with the spotlight triggering all night gets a lot less. Set a sensible activity zone and it's a twice-a-year job at worst.
