It needs a HomeBase. There is no version of this where it does not.
The eufyCam 2C is an add-on camera. It records nothing until it is paired to a eufy HomeBase, and no HomeBase is included here. eufy says it on their own product page: requires eufy HomeBase, HomeBase not included.
The camera does not even join your home Wi-Fi. eufy's spec sheet lists "Connect to Home Wi-Fi: No. Only to eufy Homebase." Without a compatible hub you own a very weatherproof paperweight, and that is far and away the most common reason an add-on camera comes back to us.

Passed clean, nothing in the advisories box
A certificate is only ever interesting when somebody has written something in the advisories box. This one is blank, which makes it a boring certificate, and boring is exactly the outcome you want on a certificate.
This unit was used before. It went back to the manufacturer, where it was refurbished and tested through eufy and Anker's own renewal program, then graded before resale. That is what "Manufacturer Renewed" means, and we would rather you read it here in the first thirty seconds than work it out later.
Excellent is the cleanest of the renewed grades: minimal to no visible marks on the housing. Not "you will not notice it from the ground", but genuinely close to unmarked. It is not factory sealed and we are not going to call it new, because it is not.
It ships in renewed packaging rather than the original retail box, and it carries our in-house 12 month CamGuard warranty. That is a CamGuard warranty, not a manufacturer warranty, and it sits on top of your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Charged about as often as you test the smoke alarms
The 6700mAh battery is rated by eufy at up to 180 days from a single charge, with their own qualifier attached: it depends on quality settings, alert and notification frequency. A camera pointed at a busy footpath will ask for the cable sooner than one pointed at a back fence.
When it does ask, it takes about five hours from a 5V USB charger over the Micro-USB cable in the box. The battery is sealed and non-replaceable, which is the trade for the IP67 rating. Mount it and the next time you think about it will be somewhere around Christmas.
eufy's own installation guide puts it 2 to 3 metres above the ground, with the motion detection zone drawn out to 10 metres.
Infrared by default. Colour when the spotlight fires.
After dark it runs infrared night vision. There is also a spotlight built into the camera body, and eufy's Australian wording for what it does is worth quoting properly: the built-in spotlight illuminates the surrounding area and lets you see in colour clarity even in low light, with the infrared setting also available.
So: mono by default, colour when the light comes on. Any listing that promises full colour after dark without mentioning that a light has to fire first has quietly skipped a step.
Detection is Human Detection and Facial Detection, so it is looking for people rather than every moth with an opinion. Two-way audio is built in, with a microphone and a speaker, which is how you tell a courier the parcel goes on the side verandah.

The footage lives on the hub, and nowhere else
eufy's spec sheet is blunt about it: video storage location is the HomeBase. The camera holds nothing itself. On a HomeBase 2 that means 16GB of built-in eMMC, which eufy rates at up to three months of recordings, shared across every camera on that hub. Storage expansion on this generation is listed as not supported.
Data is protected with AES-128 encryption, there is no mandatory cloud subscription and no monthly fee. Recording, alerts, live view and two-way audio are features you bought, not features you rent.
The flipside is worth saying out loud: adding this camera adds a viewing angle, not a gigabyte. Four cameras on one HomeBase 2 share the same 16GB that one camera would have had to itself.

The honest bit
If this were a real inspection, this is the page the inspector fills in with a biro that only writes at 45 degrees. Everything here is a genuine limitation of this camera, in the order we would tell a mate.
01 It was used, and that is the entire point
Manufacturer Renewed means it had a previous owner, went back to the manufacturer, and was refurbished and tested there before being graded. Excellent grade means minimal to no visible marks, and this certificate has nothing in the advisories box. It still is not factory sealed, and it ships in renewed packaging rather than the original retail box. If a sealed carton matters to you, buy new instead. No hard feelings.
02 No HomeBase, no camera. Not a figure of speech.
It pairs only to a eufy HomeBase, HomeBase E, HomeBase 2 or HomeBase 3 (S380), none of which are included. It never joins your home Wi-Fi. If you want a camera that works on its own out of the box, the eufy SoloCam range is the aisle you want, not this one.
03 Micro-USB. Not USB-C. Check your drawer.
Nearly every newer eufy battery camera charges over USB-C. This one does not. The official guide lists a Micro-USB charging cable in the box, and a USB-C cable will not fit the port. There is also no power adapter included, so use any standard 5V USB charger you already own. Charging takes about five hours.
04 This is the 2C, not the 2C Pro
The two look nearly identical and share the 135 degree view, IP67 rating, spotlight and 6700mAh battery. The reliable difference is the model code and the resolution: eufyCam 2C is T8113 at 1080p, eufyCam 2C Pro is T8142 at 2K. If you were sent here looking for 2K, you want the other one.
05 There is no siren on the camera
The component list for this model runs lens, light sensor, microphone, motion sensor, spotlight, status LED, SYNC button, mounting hole, charging port and speaker. The speaker is there for two-way audio. On the eufy system the alarm siren is a HomeBase feature, not a camera feature, so do not buy this expecting noise from the camera itself.
06 It records events, and it is an older generation
Motion-triggered event recording, not 24/7 continuous footage, which is what makes a 180 day battery figure possible at all. And this generation is winding down: 1080p, Micro-USB, and eufy Australia had the add-on listed as sold out when we checked on 26 July 2026. We are not going to pretend it is the current flagship. It is a sensible way to add an angle to a system you already own.

Open the eufy Security app and update your HomeBase firmware before you do anything else. Skipping this is where most pairing headaches start.

Add the camera as a new device in the app, close to the hub. The camera has a SYNC button on it for exactly this.

eufy's guide says 2 to 3 metres above the ground. Bracket, screws and wall anchors are in the box.

Will it work without a HomeBase?
No. The eufyCam 2C is an add-on camera and it requires a eufy HomeBase to operate. It records nothing without one and it does not connect to your home Wi-Fi at all, only to the hub. No HomeBase is included in this listing. If you want a camera that runs on its own, look at the eufy SoloCam range instead.
Which HomeBase models does it actually pair with?
eufy's own compatibility tables list the eufyCam 2C add-on as working with the original HomeBase, HomeBase E and HomeBase 2, and their S380 table lists the T8113 as compatible with HomeBase 3 for both storage and for BionicMind, Modes and Automation. It is listed as not compatible with the Wi-Fi Chime or the Wi-Fi Bridge. HomeBase Mini is not covered in either article we checked, so we will not claim it either way. Ask us before you buy if the Mini is your hub.
What does "Manufacturer Renewed" mean exactly?
The unit was previously used, then went back through eufy and Anker's official renewal program, where the manufacturer refurbished and tested it and returned it to full working order before it was graded for resale. Expect a working camera that has lived somewhere before. Renewed stock ships in renewed packaging rather than the original retail box, and possible minor cosmetic marks come with the territory, though this one is graded Excellent so there should be minimal to none. It is covered by our in-house 12 month CamGuard warranty, which is a CamGuard warranty and not a manufacturer warranty, and that sits on top of your Australian Consumer Law rights.
What does the Excellent grade mean on the housing?
Excellent is the cleanest of the renewed grades: minimal to no visible marks. This unit's certificate passes with nil advisories, which is our way of saying there was nothing worth writing down. Function and the IP67 weatherproof rating are unaffected by grade in any case, so the grade is purely about how it looks in your hand.
Is the charging port USB-C?
No, and this one catches people out constantly. The eufyCam 2C charges over Micro-USB. The official guide lists a Micro-USB charging cable in the box, a USB-C cable will not fit, and a full charge takes about five hours from a 5V USB charger. No power adapter is included, so use one you already have.
Does the camera have a siren?
No. eufy's component list for this model has a speaker, which is there for two-way audio, and no siren. On the eufy system the alarm siren is a HomeBase feature rather than a camera feature. If you want audible deterrence at the camera itself, this is not the model for it.
Does adding this camera add storage?
No. eufy lists the video storage location as the HomeBase, so an add-on camera adds a viewing angle and zero capacity. A HomeBase 2 has 16GB of built-in eMMC, which eufy rates at up to three months of recordings shared across all the cameras paired to it. Storage expansion is listed as not supported on this generation.
How do I know this is not the 2C Pro?
By the model code and the resolution, which are the only two reliable ways to tell them apart. This is the eufyCam 2C, model T8113, at 1080p. The eufyCam 2C Pro is model T8142 at 2K. Everything else on the two spec sheets looks nearly identical: same 135 degree field of view, same IP67 rating, same 6700mAh battery, spotlight on both.
What about Apple HomeKit?
Conditional. eufy's Australian product page says Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, and Apple HomeKit if paired with a eufy HomeBase 2. We are not going to list HomeKit as an unqualified feature or promise it carries across to other hubs, because eufy does not say that.
Are there any monthly fees?
None required. Recordings go to your HomeBase, protected with AES-128 encryption, and recording, alerts, live view and two-way audio work without a cloud subscription.
How does the battery really go?
