What the log knows
A warm moving object crossed the detection area.
- PIR registered a qualifying change.
- E20 can pass that event to a compatible HomeBase.
- Your configured eufy mode can then determine app notification and connected-system behaviour.
Condition Brand New
Included items: Read this listing's contents before choosing accessories. A condition grade alone does not tell you which parts or packaging are included.
Compatibility: Needs one compatible eufy HomeBase to operate — HomeBase Mini (firmware v4.0.5.2+), a HomeBase 2 released after 2021 (v3.4.1.2+), HomeBase 3 (v3.7.2.6+) or HomeBase Professional S1 (v4.1.4.3+). It does not work on its own and no hub is included.
AU or US HomeBase both pair fine — the “requires a US-version HomeBase” line on some eufy pages does not hold in practice.
Check each listing for the exact model pairing and included parts. Unavailable options are left out.
This adds the product shown above and every selected extra in one step. Use the regular Add to cart button for the product on its own.
The household is asleep. One liar remains active.
The eufy Motion Sensor E20 noticed warm movement crossing the hall with the confidence of someone who said “I’m not hungry” 40 minutes ago. It did not see a face, record a video or identify the person heading towards the fridge. It is a motion sensor, not the household narc.

What the log knows
What the log does not know
Required overnight relay
A compatible eufy HomeBase is required and is not included. E20 does not pair directly with your phone, Wi-Fi router or Bluetooth. It communicates over Sub-1G with HomeBase; HomeBase connects the event to the eufy app and your selected security setup.
Condition dispatch label
This is a genuine eufy Motion Sensor E20 in factory-sealed full original retail packaging. It is not open-box, renewed or graded as-new. One CR123A battery is pre-installed behind an insulation tab.
Interactive fridge-light test
The room can become visually obvious to you without becoming visual to a device that has no camera.
Motion detected. Source unknown. It will not testify about the cheesecake. A separate compatible camera or a human check would be needed for visual confirmation.
honest answerStill motion detected. Still source unknown to E20. Only you can see the fork in your hand. Turning on a household light does not add a lens, video recorder or identity system to the sensor.
same honest answerUnverified household intelligence
E20 contributes exactly one defensible fact: motion happened. Everything below is the household behaving like a comments section.
“I was only checking whether the fridge light turns off.” Strong opening. Unfortunately, they were holding a fork.
Emotional-support cheese, taken directly from the bag at an angle suggesting this was not the first offence.
2:17 AM: “WHO ATE MY LEFTOVERS?” 2:18 AM: three people typing. 2:19 AM: nobody brave enough to press send.
The cat was awake, judgemental and legally represented. It declined to comment without a second breakfast.
“I detected heat moving through a 90° field. Stop asking me about cheesecake. I do not have a camera.”
Motion detected. Snack unaccounted for. Dignity last seen upstairs beside the promise, “I’m done eating tonight.”
Choose the useful corner
PIR generally reads lateral movement more clearly than a distant head-on approach. Test the real path before fixing the final position.
Pet Mode is designed to reduce false alerts from pets under 36 kg or 80 lb. It is not a promise that every pet event will disappear.
A pet on furniture, stairs or another high surface can appear larger or higher in the sensor’s view. From the armrest, Mittens becomes less “small pet” and more “warm chandelier.”
Several pets moving together can create a different heat pattern from a single small animal. The sensor sees a suspicious heat committee, not the meeting minutes.
Aim away from climbable spots, test the real room and adjust placement if daily movement still creates unwanted alerts. The cat will call this censorship.
The sensor contributes the first event. HomeBase and your configured system handle everything downstream.
PIR registers infrared movement inside the selected detection field.
Sub-1G carries the event to the required compatible HomeBase.
The eufy app, security mode and connected devices determine notifications and actions.

Everything laid out on the bench
Do this in daylight. 2:13 AM is for snacks, not power tools.
Confirm the compatible HomeBase is online and at least at the listed firmware.
Use the eufy app and follow the pairing prompts.
Remove the battery insulation tab when instructed.
Walk the intended route and confirm the event reaches the app.
Mount around 2.0 to 2.3 m and select a suitable surface method.
Check motion, Pet Mode if used, and tamper behaviour in the intended mode.
Notes left on the kitchen door
No. A compatible HomeBase is required and is not included. There is no hub-free mode.
No. E20 communicates over Sub-1G with HomeBase, not directly by Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to your phone.
No. It detects motion only and has no camera or identity recognition. The family group chat will still reach a verdict with no evidence whatsoever.
No. It is an indoor-only sensor and has no published IP rating.
Yes. One CR123A 1,400 mAh battery is pre-installed behind an insulation tab.
No. It has no built-in speaker or siren. Audible alarm behaviour needs another compatible system component. You must supply your own dramatic gasp.
