How it listens

It listens across the room.

One sensor covers a room, up to 7.6 m from the glass. It goes on the ceiling or the wall opposite the window, where the sound reaches it clearly.

Home Mode stops it triggering alarms or reporting events while you’re home, and you can lower its sensitivity in the eufy Security app.

No. It passes its alert to a HomeBase, so it can’t work on its own. It needs a HomeBase Mini, HomeBase 2 (post-2021 units), HomeBase 3 or Professional S1, sold separately, updated to the minimum firmware before pairing.

Where’s the best spot?

On the ceiling or the wall opposite the glass, 2 to 7.6 m away, with nothing blocking the sound. Not on the window’s own wall within 2 m of the glass, and not in a kitchen or beside noisy gear.

How do I know it’s working?

Press its button for 2 seconds to start a test, then check the eufy Security app to see that the alarm triggered.

Is it a camera?

No. It’s a sensor that listens for the sound of breaking glass. It has no camera view.

Will E10 work without HomeBase?

No. E10 needs a compatible HomeBase 2, HomeBase 3 or HomeBase Professional S1 with the listed minimum firmware. No HomeBase is included. HomeBase Mini is also listed by eufy, from firmware v4.0.8.6. Update your hub's firmware before pairing. The sensor does not operate as a standalone detector; update the relevant base first, then confirm the app has added this model before mounting and testing it.

How far from the glass should it be?

The recommended distance is 6.5 to 25 ft (2 to 7.6 m), on a ceiling or opposite wall. The same wall within 6.5 ft (2 m) of the glass is listed as an avoid position. Keep an unobstructed acoustic path and account for room noise, as the stated figure is not a promise for every building.

Which glass types are supported?

Plate, coated, laminated, tempered, wired and dual-pane glass, within the documented size and thickness ranges. eufy lists these categories for the sensor, but the product still has documented size and thickness limits, so match the pane before installation and check the dimensions carefully.

Can it record what people say?

The E10 is a sound-detection sensor for glass-break events. It is not a general audio recorder or a camera, and the product page does not describe conversation recording. Use it for the documented event-detection job connected to HomeBase, with privacy expectations set by that role.

How do I reduce false alarms?
