The vibe
A camera shouldn't charge you rent to watch your own home.
That's the whole idea here. The E30 is a proper 4K security camera — the kind that pans across a room, follows movement on its own, and sees in the dark two different ways. But it doesn't come with the bit everyone quietly resents: the monthly fee just to look at your own footage.
Set it on a bookshelf pointing at the front door. Mount it in the nursery. Aim it at the dog's favourite spot on the couch. It'll watch the room in 4K, ping your phone when an actual person or pet shows up, and let you talk back through it — all recorded to a card that lives in your house, not a server in another country.
It's black, it's small, and it mostly disappears into a room. Which, for a security camera, is exactly the point.
Think of it as a very alert house-sitter who works for free, never sleeps, and doesn't raid the fridge.
⚠ The honest bit
Read this first.
4K records at 15 frames per second.
That's standard for 4K indoor cameras and it's plenty smooth for watching a room, a pet or a doorway — you're getting resolution and detail rather than slow-motion sports footage. If you specifically need buttery 30/60fps motion, go in knowing this.
It's wired — it needs to stay plugged in.
The E30 is a mains-powered camera (USB-C, 5V/2A adapter and cable included). It is not a battery/cordless camera, so plan for a power outlet within reach of where you mount it.
A microSD card isn't included.
To record locally you'll need your own microSD card (up to 128GB). They're cheap and easy to find. Prefer central storage? A eufy HomeBase 3 (S380) is also sold separately.
Wi-Fi is 2.4GHz only.
The camera connects on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (not 5GHz). Almost every home router broadcasts 2.4GHz by default, so this is rarely an issue — just make sure it's enabled.
Apple HomeKit streams at up to 1080p.
The E30 works with HomeKit, Alexa and Google — but through Apple Home the feed is capped at 1080p. To get the full 4K, view it in the eufy Security app. Totally normal for HomeKit cameras.
It's an indoor camera.
Designed for inside the home — lounge, nursery, office, hallway. It isn't weather-rated, so it shouldn't be mounted outdoors or anywhere exposed to the elements.

Connect the camera to the included USB-C adapter and pop it in a wall outlet near where you want it. It'll power up and get ready to pair.

Add the device & connect Wi-Fi.
Tap "add device" in the app and follow the prompts to join your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (usually by scanning a QR code on screen). Takes a couple of minutes.

Insert a microSD & you're recording.
Slot in a microSD card to start local recording. Want voice control? Add the camera to HomeKit, Alexa or Google from the app. Done.
Pro Tip: Drop in a 128GB microSD card and the E30 will hold weeks of footage before it loops. Set it to record on motion to stretch that even further.

Q This is so cheap... is it actually new?
Yes. Brand new and sealed, never used or paired. We import ourselves and run lower margins because everyone deserves decent security without being priced out of it. You're getting the genuine article for less.
Q Do I have to pay a monthly subscription?
No. Zero. Live view, recording, AI detection, notifications and two-way audio are all included free. Record to a microSD card or a HomeBase and you never pay a cent in fees.
Q Do I need a microSD card, and what size?
You'll want one for local recording — it's sold separately and supports cards up to 128GB. You can still live-view and get alerts without a card, but to save footage locally, pop one in. Alternatively, connect it to a eufy HomeBase 3.
Q Is it wired or battery powered?
Wired. It runs on mains power via the included USB-C adapter, so it never needs charging — but it does need an outlet nearby. It's not a cordless/battery camera.
Q Does it work with Apple HomeKit?
Yes — it works with HomeKit, Alexa and Google Assistant. Note that through Apple Home the stream is up to 1080p; for the full 4K feed, use the eufy Security app. That's standard for HomeKit cameras.
Q Why is 4K only 15fps?
It's the norm for 4K indoor cameras — you're trading frame rate for a lot more detail. For watching a room, a pet or a doorway it looks smooth and clear. If you need high-frame-rate motion specifically, this is worth knowing up front.
Q Will the camera move on its own?
Yes. It pans 360° and tilts 75°, and with AI auto-tracking it follows a detected person or pet around the room. You can also pan, tilt and zoom manually from the app any time.
Q Where is my footage stored — is it private?
On your own microSD card (or your HomeBase), in your home. The AI runs on the camera itself rather than the cloud, so your video doesn't have to leave the house to work. No cloud subscription required.
Q Can I use it as a pet or baby monitor?
Absolutely — it's one of the most popular uses. 4K view, pan/tilt tracking, night vision, two-way audio, plus pet and cry detection make it a genuinely capable pet cam or nanny cam, minus the monthly fee.
Q I'm in Australia — will it work here?
Yes. It's USB-C powered and we include the adapter, it connects to standard 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, and the eufy Security app works in Australia. Any standard 5V/2A USB charger will run it too. And CamGuard is based in Townsville, QLD, so support is in your timezone.
