Everything looks suspicious under a servo light at three in the morning. This does not care. 4K, an F1.0 lens and MaxColor Vision turn the driveway back into actual colours instead of one haunted bowl of grey soup. The local moth has lodged a formal complaint.

Manufacturer Renewed, graded Good

This camera has been used before. It went back through the manufacturer's renewal programme, where it was refurbished and tested, and it has been graded Good — the top of our three renewed grades.

In practice that means it is fully working and cosmetically very tidy, but it is not new and we won't pretend otherwise. Expect it to look near-new with, at most, light handling marks. It arrives in renewed packaging, not the original eufy retail box.

What you get instead of a factory seal: an honest grade, a 12-month warranty we honour ourselves, and the return postage covered if it isn't right.

This camera does not accept vibes as a HomeBase

Every servo has that sign for a reason: nobody likes finding out the rules at the pump. So here is ours, in the same spirit.

The eufyCam S3 Pro is an add-on camera. It requires a HomeBase 3 (S380) to function at all. The camera has no storage of its own — eufy's own words: "the camera does not have built-in storage, it uses the 16G eMMC storage on HomeBase 3."

It will not work with a HomeBase 2, a HomeBase Mini, a HomeBase Professional S1, or a microSD card. eufy is explicit: "the eufyCam S3 Pro only works with HomeBase S380."

If you already run a HomeBase 3, this drops straight onto it. If you don't, you need one first — ask us and we'll tell you what's on the shelf rather than sell you a very tidy garden ornament with excellent posture.

Six reasons the moth hates management

The night shift, aggressively overqualified

This is eufy's flagship outdoor camera. Most of what makes it expensive only clocks on after dark, exactly when cheaper cameras start drawing police sketches in mashed potato.

01

Uniform check: colour after dark

MaxColor Vision pairs an F1.0 aperture with a 1/1.8″ stacked sensor, so it keeps shooting in full colour when other cameras have long since flipped to black-and-white. Four adaptive LED spotlights fill in when it needs them, and infrared is still there as a fallback.

Colour clothing, colour car, colour number plate. That's the difference between footage and evidence.

02

4K, with a lens that read the memo

3840×2160 across a 135° field of view with 8× digital zoom. Plenty of cameras claim 4K through a lens that can't feed it — this one has the sensor and the glass to back the number up.

03

Radar and PIR: two bouncers

Two detection systems cross-check each other, which eufy rates at up to 99% fewer false alerts. Fewer 2am pings for a moth doing laps of the light, more pings that actually matter.

Detection range is quoted at 40ft across a 120° arc.

04

Fuelled by an hour of sky

A 13,000mAh battery with the SolarPlus 2.0 panel built into the top of the camera — no separate panel to mount, no second bracket. eufy quotes up to 365 days, topped up by around an hour of direct sun a day.

The panel is integrated, not removable. An external panel is optional if the mount is shaded.

05

The brains stay in the office

Paired to your HomeBase 3, it recognises faces, humans, packages, vehicles and pets, and can hand a subject off between cameras. All of it processed on the hub in your house, not on somebody's server.

06

The night window talks back

Two-way audio through a dual-mic array, plus a 100dB siren if the conversation isn't going anywhere. IP67 sealed, so it handles whatever the weather does to it.

Incident report · subject: moth Radar and PIR cross-checked the situation. The moth's performance review has been postponed indefinitely.

Thank you — drive safe

Every other camera hands you a grey smudge and calls it a person. This one hands you a colour, a jacket and a number plate — at three in the morning, on battery, in the rain — then goes back to silently judging the driveway.

Read before you start · the camera cannot survive on confidence alone
  • It's dead without a HomeBase 3. Not "limited", not "reduced features" — it will not operate. There is no card slot and no onboard storage. A HomeBase 2, a Mini or an S1 will not do. This is the single most common reason an add-on camera gets returned, so we'd rather over-explain it than take your money and cop the refund.
  • It's been used. Manufacturer Renewed, graded Good. Refurbished and tested through the manufacturer's renewal programme and fully working, with cosmetic wear you will notice on a close look. A previous owner had it first. Scuffs and light scratches are possible.
  • The packaging is plain. Renewed stock arrives in protective renewed packaging, not the original eufy retail carton. If you're buying it as a gift and the box matters, buy a sealed one instead.
  • The warranty is ours, not eufy's. A 12-month CamGuard warranty that we honour ourselves, on top of your Australian Consumer Law rights. We are an independent reseller and we won't dress it up as a manufacturer warranty.
  • The solar panel is built in and doesn't come off. That's neat — one bracket, no dangling cable — but it means the camera itself has to sit somewhere that gets sun. Mount it under a deep eave and you'll be charging it by hand.
  • "Up to 365 days" is eufy's figure, not a promise. It assumes modest recording and about an hour of direct sun daily. A busy frontage with radar tripping all evening will use more than that.
  • 4K eats storage. The HomeBase 3 has 16GB on board, which does not go far at this resolution across several cameras. Plan on adding a drive to the hub if you're recording a lot.
  • Apple Home works through the HomeBase 3, and HomeKit caps video at 1080p regardless of what the camera can shoot. Use the eufy Security app if you want the full 4K.
  • IP67 is weather, not water. Rain, dust, hose-down: fine. Submerged or aimed at a sprinkler: not.

Straight talk / before anyone reaches for a wallet

Right camera. Wrong camera. No awkward refund sequel.

Definitely not for you if…

  • You don't own a HomeBase 3. This is the big one. Without an S380 the camera does nothing at all.
  • You run a HomeBase 2, a Mini or an S1 and expected this to join it.
  • You wanted a standalone camera that records to a memory card.
  • You want factory-sealed, unused stock in the original retail box.
  • Light cosmetic marks would bother you.
  • You need the manufacturer's own warranty. Ours is a CamGuard warranty.
  • The only spot you can mount it never sees direct sun.

Bang on for you if…

  • You already run a HomeBase 3 and want to add eufy's best outdoor camera to it.
  • Night footage is the whole point — you're sick of grey shapes and want colour.
  • You want 4K with a lens that can actually feed it.
  • False alerts have worn you down and radar-plus-PIR sounds like relief.
  • You'd rather pay renewed money for the flagship than new money for a mid-range camera.
  • You want the AI running on a hub in your house, with no subscription attached.
  • An honest grade and a real warranty matter more to you than a sealed box.

Yelled through the night window

The questions people ask after reading only the exciting bits

Do I really need a HomeBase 3, or is that just recommended?

You really need one. The eufyCam S3 Pro is an add-on camera with no internal storage and no card slot — eufy's own FAQ says it "only works with HomeBase S380 (HomeBase 3)". Without an S380 it will not set up, record or stream. It is not compatible with a HomeBase 2, a HomeBase Mini or a HomeBase Professional S1, and no HomeBase is included with this listing.

What does "Manufacturer Renewed — Good" actually mean?

The camera was previously used, then went back through the manufacturer's renewal programme where it was refurbished and tested to working order. We then grade it. Good is our middle renewed grade: fully functional and cosmetically very tidy, with at most light handling marks. It comes in renewed packaging rather than the original eufy retail box, and it carries a 12-month CamGuard warranty.

Will it look worn?

At Good grade, yes — expect visible cosmetic wear: scuffs, light scratches, marks from a previous install. None of it affects how the camera works, and it is why this grade is cheaper. If you want near-new cosmetics buy the Excellent grade, and if you want zero marks and a factory seal, buy a Brand New unit; we list those separately and honestly.

Does it genuinely record in colour at night?

Yes. MaxColor Vision plus the F1.0 aperture is designed for full-colour night footage, with four adaptive LED spotlights and infrared as a fallback. It's the single biggest reason to choose this camera over a cheaper one.

Is there a subscription?

No. Recording and AI both run on your HomeBase 3, in your house. There is no monthly fee to view, save or download footage.

How long does the battery really last?

eufy quotes up to 365 days from the 13,000mAh battery with the built-in SolarPlus 2.0 panel and around an hour of direct sun a day. Real figures depend on how much it records — a busy driveway will use considerably more than a quiet side fence.

Will 4K fill up my HomeBase 3?

Faster than 2K will, yes. The HomeBase 3 has 16GB built in and accepts a drive to expand it. If you're running several cameras at 4K, plan on adding storage to the hub.

Does it work with Apple Home?

Yes, through the HomeBase 3 — along with Alexa and Google Assistant. Be aware HomeKit caps camera video at 1080p, so use the eufy Security app when you want the full 4K.

Is the warranty from eufy?

No. It's a 12-month CamGuard warranty that we provide and honour ourselves, in addition to your Australian Consumer Law rights. We're an independent reseller, so we don't offer — and won't imply — a manufacturer warranty.

What if it arrives faulty?

Message us. Faulty or not as described inside 12 months and we cover the return postage, then repair, replace or refund. Have your order details handy and we'll sort it out.

Can I pick it up?

Yes — local pickup in Townsville, QLD. Message us after your order to arrange a time.
