eufy Security HomeBase 3 S380 | Manufacturer Renewed (Good Condition)
The switchboard that actually thinks.
Sixteen terabytes of expansion, a quad-core brain, face recognition that learns, and 24/7 recording once you put a drive in it. It still sits on a shelf gathering dust like every other hub — it just does a great deal more while it's sitting there.
Manufacturer Renewed — Good. This unit was previously used, then refurbished and tested through the manufacturer's own renewal programme. Good grade means visible cosmetic wear: scuffs and light scratches on the casing. It works perfectly. It arrives in plain renewed (non-retail) packaging.
BOX
No. 3
Six switches, all verified
Every number below came off the manufacturer's own product page or support articles. Nothing rounded up, nothing borrowed from a similar model, nothing invented to make the box sound bigger.
Five runs, and one of them is a brain
This is where the S380 stops being a bigger HomeBase 2 and starts being a different animal entirely.
A real drive bay, not a USB stick
16 GB of eMMC on board, and a SATA port for expansion up to 16 TB. The manufacturer is specific about what fits: any 5 V 2.5-inch drive, hard disk or SSD, with a SATA interface — and it states that 12 V drives are not supported. Recordings go to the expansion drive first and fall back to the built-in storage when it's full. No subscription is required to record locally.
The circuit that learns who lives here
BionicMind is the manufacturer's on-device AI, running on a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55. It does self-learning face recognition, human detection, vehicle detection and pet detection, and it can remember up to 50 faces. The manufacturer quotes accuracy of up to 99.9%. The point of all of it is fewer pointless notifications — the difference between "motion detected" forty times a day and "someone you don't know is at the side gate."
Continuous recording, once there's a drive in it
The manufacturer states that all wired cameras can record 24/7 once connected to the S380. Event clips are great right up until the moment you need the ninety seconds before the event — and that's what continuous recording gives you. It needs the expansion drive; 16 GB of built-in storage won't carry it.
One person, followed from camera to camera
Cross-Camera Tracking stitches the same subject across your cameras instead of handing you five unrelated clips to piece together yourself. The manufacturer also lists event searching on the S380 — so instead of scrubbing a timeline you ask for the thing you actually want to see.
And the unglamorous bits that still matter
Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbps), two USB ports for charging and data transfer, one SATA port, a 100 dB siren built in, AES-128 plus RSA-1024 encryption, and a working temperature range of −10 °C to 50 °C. It's the meter box: unglamorous, rated properly, gets on with it.
The scratches are on the outside of a box that lives in a cupboard. The quad-core brain is on the inside. Only one of those changes your life.
- It was used before you, and it looks it. Manufacturer Renewed in Good grade: previously owned, refurbished and tested through the manufacturer's own renewal programme. Expect visible cosmetic wear — scuffs and light scratches on the casing. It works perfectly.
- Good is not Excellent. If you want the near-new finish, buy an Excellent-grade unit instead — this listing is deliberately the cheaper, scruffier one, and it is priced that way.
- Renewed packaging, not retail. Plain protective box. No glossy sleeve, no shrink wrap, no branded insert.
- No hard drive included. The 16 TB figure is the maximum the S380 supports, not what's in the box. You supply a 5 V 2.5-inch SATA drive; 12 V drives are not supported.
- 24/7 recording needs that drive. On the 16 GB of built-in storage alone you get event clips, not continuous recording.
- Not everything eufy makes works with it. Wired video doorbells and a couple of older floodlight cameras are on the manufacturer's not-compatible list. Read the circuit schedule below properly — hub compatibility is the number one reason base stations get returned.
- Cosmetics matter less here than on any other product we sell. A hub sits behind the TV or in a cupboard for years. You will genuinely never look at it again — which is the honest argument for buying a Good-grade one and spending the difference on a camera.
- Our warranty is not the manufacturer's. You get a 12-month in-house CamGuard warranty, plus your Australian Consumer Law rights. Not a manufacturer warranty.

Good
The ratings plate
Specifications are manufacturer-stated and were checked against the manufacturer's own product pages and support articles at the time of writing. On built-in recording time the manufacturer publishes two different estimates, so we have used the conservative one in the FAQ rather than the flattering one — and left it off this plate.
The circuit schedule
The section that decides whether this hub is right for you. Everything below is taken from the manufacturer's own HomeBase 3 compatibility list, model codes and all. If your device isn't in the ON group, don't assume — ask us.
Listed as compatible
Pairs with the S380 and, on most of these, unlocks the BionicMind features.
Listed as not compatible
These will not pair with the S380. No firmware update changes that.
Under evaluation — check before you commit
The manufacturer lists these as still being evaluated. Treat them as unconfirmed.
If everything you own is eufyCam 2 / 2 Pro / 2C / 2C Pro and you specifically want them in Apple Home, note that the manufacturer says those cameras need a HomeBase 2 for HomeKit. We list a HomeBase 2 (S280) in Manufacturer Renewed, Excellent condition as a separate item — same theme, older board, cheaper.
Honestly — is this yours or isn't it?
Probably not for you if…
- Cosmetic condition matters to you. Good grade means visible scuffs and light scratches — buy an Excellent-grade unit instead.
- Your only cameras are wired doorbells, or a Floodlight Cam T8420 / T8423, or a 4G Starlight Cam S230. They're on the not-compatible list.
- You want Apple HomeKit for eufyCam 2-series cameras — that pairing runs through a HomeBase 2.
- You expected a hard drive in the box. It isn't; you supply your own 5 V 2.5-inch SATA drive.
- You need a sealed retail box — renewed stock ships in plain packaging.
- You want a manufacturer warranty specifically. Ours is an in-house CamGuard warranty.
Perfect for you if…
- You own S330, S3 Pro, S300 or a SoloCam and you want the AI features they were built for.
- You've got an add-on camera sitting in a drawer with nowhere to pair it.
- You want 24/7 recording and you already have a spare 2.5-inch drive in a drawer.
- You're tired of forty "motion detected" alerts a day and want the hub to work out who's who.
- You're growing the system — 16 devices and 34 sensors is a lot of headroom.
- You'd rather put the cosmetic-grade saving into another camera, because the hub lives in a cupboard anyway.
Four steps and the board is live
No electrician required, no drilling, no 240-volt anything. A plug, a cable, and one optional screwdriver.
Fit the drive (optional)
If you want 24/7 recording, slot in a 5 V 2.5-inch SATA drive before you start. Do it now — it's much less annoying than pulling the hub back off the shelf later.
Site it and connect
Central indoor spot, power in, Ethernet to the router. Central beats hidden — the cameras talk to the base, not to your Wi-Fi.
Energise the app
Add the HomeBase in the eufy Security app, let it pull the current firmware, then pair your cameras, doorbells and sensors one at a time.
Teach it the faces
Walk each camera's view, confirm the clips land, then start tagging faces so BionicMind learns the household. It gets better the more you feed it.
What's in the box — and what isn't
If anything listed above is missing when your parcel lands, message us the day it arrives and we'll sort it — no argument, no form to fill in.
Australia Post Express included on every order over $99.00
Dispatched within 1 business day from Townsville, Queensland. Tracking appears on your order once the parcel is scanned into the network.
12-month in-house CamGuard Australia warranty
This is our own warranty, not a manufacturer warranty. It sits on top of — and does not replace or limit — your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If the unit is faulty or not as described within those 12 months, CamGuard covers the return postage.
30 days to change your mind
Return it within 30 days in the condition it arrived. The buyer pays the return postage, and the original shipping cost is not refunded. Faulty is handled under Item 02, not here.
Ask us about compatibility first
Send the model code printed on your camera or doorbell and we'll tell you whether this hub runs it. Two minutes of messaging beats a fortnight of posting boxes back and forth.
It means the unit was previously used, then refurbished and tested through the manufacturer's own renewal programme before it reached us. Good grade means visible cosmetic wear — scuffs and light scratches on the casing. It is not new, and we do not describe it as new. It works perfectly.
Marks you can see from normal viewing distance: scuffing on the casing, light scratches, that sort of thing. Not cracks, not damage. And it's worth saying plainly — a hub sits behind the TV or in a cupboard for years at a time. Cosmetic wear matters less on this product than on almost anything else we sell, which is exactly why Good grade is good value here.
Check the circuit schedule above — it's the manufacturer's own list with model codes. The short version: the S330, S3 Pro, S300, the eufyCam 2-series, the E40, all the SoloCams listed, the battery doorbells, the E330 and S330 locks and the sensors are compatible. Wired doorbells, the Floodlight Cam T8420 and T8423, and the 4G Starlight Cam S230 are not. Unsure? Send us the code.
None is included. The manufacturer specifies any 5 V 2.5-inch drive — hard disk or SSD — with a SATA interface, up to 16 TB, and states that 12 V drives are not supported. Recordings go to the expansion drive first and fall back to the built-in storage when it fills.
The manufacturer's own guidance is roughly two months of video for a one-camera system, or about one month with two cameras, and notes that system data takes up around 20% of the capacity. Treat that as a rough guide — how you set motion sensitivity and clip length changes it a lot.
Not to record locally. Footage goes to the hub's own storage or your expansion drive. There's no ongoing fee required for that.
It's the on-device AI. Self-learning face recognition, plus human, vehicle and pet detection, remembering up to 50 faces, with accuracy the manufacturer quotes at up to 99.9%. In practice it means far fewer useless notifications, because the hub can tell the difference between your car pulling in and someone in the yard.
The manufacturer's HomeKit article names eufyCam 2, 2 Pro, 2C and 2C Pro as needing a HomeBase 2 for HomeKit specifically. If Apple Home for those cameras is your main reason to buy, get the HomeBase 2 — we list one separately. For everything else the S380 is the better hub by a distance.
Message us with your order number and a short video of the problem. Inside 12 months, faulty or not as described means CamGuard covers the return postage. Your Australian Consumer Law rights apply either way.
Item specifics
Shut the door on it and get on with your day.
Put a drive in it, pair the cameras, teach it a few faces, and then never think about it again. A few scuffs on a box in a cupboard is a very cheap price for a switchboard that thinks.
