Nobody has ever walked past a meter box and thought "nice."

The grey box that quietly runs everything.

A HomeBase is the meter box of a eufy camera system. It lives on a shelf, it collects dust, it never gets a compliment — and without it, the eufyCam bolted to your carport is a very expensive paperweight. This is that box, renewed by the manufacturer, in excellent nick.

Condition — read this first

Manufacturer Renewed — Excellent. This unit was previously used, then refurbished and tested through the manufacturer's own renewal programme. Excellent grade means near-new: light handling marks are possible, nothing you'd notice from a metre away. It arrives in plain renewed (non-retail) packaging.

The circuits on this board

What the box actually does all day

Four runs off the one board. None of them ask you for a subscription to keep working.

STORAGE CCT 01 · 16 GB

Footage lands here, not in somebody else's data centre

The HomeBase 2 holds 16 GB of local storage on board, and the manufacturer lists it as expandable to 256 GB with a USB drive. Recording to that local storage costs you nothing per month — there's no plan to keep alive, no card to re-enter every year. It's the same deal as the meter box: it just sits there doing its job.

Image · rear ports, 3/4 angle
CAMERAS CCT 02 · up to 16

One board, up to sixteen cameras

The manufacturer's support notes put the ceiling at 16 cameras on a single HomeBase 2. For the overwhelming majority of Australian houses that is more than the number of walls worth pointing a camera at. Add-on eufyCams — the ones sold without a hub — talk to the base rather than to your router, which is exactly why they need one of these to work at all.

SIREN CCT 03 · alarm

There's a siren in the box itself

The hub has its own built-in siren, and it's what the manufacturer's Entry Sensor and Motion Sensor trigger when the alarm is armed and something opens that shouldn't. Whether you use it is entirely up to you — plenty of people never arm it and just want the recordings. It's the mains switch of the setup: there, ready, mostly left alone.

Image · in situ on a shelf
HOMEKIT CCT 04 · Apple

The Apple Home circuit that only runs off this base

This is the part people miss. The manufacturer states that eufyCam 2, 2 Pro, 2C and 2C Pro support Apple HomeKit and must be connected to a HomeBase 2 for it. If you own those cameras and you want them in the Apple Home app, this is the hub that does it — not the newer one. That single line is the whole reason the HomeBase 2 is still worth owning in 2026.

Certificate of Testing & Compliance Everyone remembers the camera. Nobody remembers the box. The box is the reason the camera remembers anything.

Read before you buy The things a listing normally buries at the bottom in six-point grey.
  • It was used before you. This is a Manufacturer Renewed unit — previously owned, then refurbished and tested through the manufacturer's own renewal programme. Excellent grade: near-new, with light handling marks possible.
  • Renewed packaging, not retail. Plain protective box. No glossy sleeve, no shrink wrap, no branded insert. If the box matters to you, this is not the listing for you.
  • It's the older generation. The HomeBase 2 has no on-device AI — no face recognition, no cross-camera tracking, no 24/7 continuous recording. That's the S380 / HomeBase 3, which we list separately.
  • The expansion is a USB drive, not a hard drive bay. The manufacturer lists 16 GB built in, expandable to 256 GB via USB. If you want terabytes, you want the HomeBase 3.
  • Cosmetics matter less here than on any other product we sell. A hub lives behind the TV or on a shelf in the hallway. Once it's plugged in you will genuinely never look at it again — which is the honest argument for buying a renewed one.
  • Compatibility is the real risk, not condition. Newer eufy cameras do not pair with this hub. Check the next section properly before you buy — it is the single most common reason people return a base station.

Board layout

Which circuits are ON, which are OFF

This is the section that decides whether this hub is right for you. The lists below come from the manufacturer's own device-compatibility table for HomeBase 2. If your camera is not on the ON list, do not assume — ask us first.

ON

Listed as compatible

  • eufyCam (original) and eufyCam E
  • eufyCam 2 and eufyCam 2 Pro
  • eufyCam 2C and eufyCam 2C Pro
  • eufyCam E40 — the manufacturer states the add-on camera requires a HomeBase 2 or an S380 to operate
  • Video Doorbell 2K (battery) add-on
  • Video Doorbell Dual add-on
  • 1080p Battery Doorbell · Battery Doorbell Slim
  • Entry Sensor · Motion Sensor · Keypad
  • SoloCam E30 — the one SoloCam on the HomeBase 2 table
  • eufy SmartDrop
This is where the 2-series ecosystem lives. If you own a 2C or a 2C Pro add-on, this is your hub.
OFF

Listed as not compatible

  • eufyCam 3 (S330) — listed "No"
  • eufyCam 3C (S300) — listed "No"
  • eufyCam S4 — listed "No"
  • SoloCams generally — listed "No", with the SoloCam E30 the single exception
  • Smart Lock Front Door · Smart Lock Touch — listed "No"
  • eufyCam S3 Pro — it appears only on the HomeBase 3 compatibility list, not the HomeBase 2 one
Buying this hub for any camera in this column is the classic mistake. It will not pair, and no firmware update changes that.
TEST

Check before you commit

  • Newer-generation E20-series sensors — the HomeBase 2 table names the Entry Sensor, Motion Sensor and Keypad. Confirm your exact sensor model against the manufacturer's current page.
  • Wired video doorbells — not on the HomeBase 2 table. Check the model code on your doorbell first.
  • Floodlight cameras, indoor cameras and locks not named in the ON column — treat as unconfirmed until checked.
  • Anything bought in the last two years — the newer the camera, the more likely it belongs on the HomeBase 3.
Send us the model number off the back of your camera and we will tell you straight, before you spend a cent.
Not the hub you need?

If your cameras are the newer S330, S3 Pro, S4 or a SoloCam, you want the eufy HomeBase 3 (S380) instead — we list one in Manufacturer Renewed, Good condition as a separate item. Same theme, different box, much bigger brain.

Two circuits off the one board

Honestly — is this yours or isn't it?

DO NOT USE

Probably not for you if…

  • Your cameras are S330, S3 Pro, S4, or any SoloCam other than the E30 — they will not pair.
  • You want face recognition, cross-camera tracking or 24/7 continuous recording. This model has none of it.
  • You want terabytes of local storage on a proper hard drive.
  • You need a sealed retail box — renewed stock ships in plain packaging.
  • You want a manufacturer warranty specifically. Ours is an in-house CamGuard warranty.
  • You expect a factory-fresh finish with zero handling marks anywhere.
GOOD TO GO

Perfect for you if…

  • You own eufyCam 2, 2 Pro, 2C or 2C Pro add-on cameras sitting useless in a drawer.
  • Your old HomeBase 2 died, got water in it, or went with the ex.
  • You want those 2-series cameras in Apple Home — this is the hub that enables it.
  • You're adding a second base to a bigger property and don't want to pay new-hub money.
  • You'd rather spend the difference on another camera than on a box that lives in a cupboard.
  • You genuinely do not care what the hub looks like, because you will never look at it.
Commissioning

Four steps and the board is live

No electrician required, no drilling, no 240-volt anything. It's a plug and two cables.

1

Isolate and site it

Pick a central indoor spot — a shelf, a cupboard, beside the router. Central beats hidden: the cameras talk to the base, not to your Wi-Fi.

sited
2

Connect the supply

Power in, Ethernet to the router. The manufacturer recommends the wired connection first; you can switch it to Wi-Fi later in the app if you'd rather.

powered
3

Energise the app

Add the HomeBase in the eufy Security app, let it pull the current firmware, then pair your cameras and sensors to it one at a time.

added
4

Test and label

Walk past each camera, check the clip lands, then set your arming schedule. Optional but recommended: a bit of texta on the shelf edge saying what it is.

Docket · HB2 · Renewed Excellent
Written inside the lid, for whoever opens it next Frequently asked, honestly answered
"Manufacturer Renewed" — what does that actually mean?

It means the unit was previously used, and was then refurbished and tested through the manufacturer's own renewal programme before it reached us. It is not new, and we do not describe it as new. Excellent grade means near-new condition with light handling marks possible.

Will it look tatty on my shelf?

Excellent grade is the top renewed grade — near-new, with light handling marks possible. And realistically: a hub sits behind the TV or in a cupboard for years at a time. Cosmetic wear matters less on this product than on almost anything else we sell.

Will it work with my cameras?

Only if they're on the ON list above. The 2-series eufyCams (2, 2 Pro, 2C, 2C Pro), the original eufyCam and eufyCam E, the E40, the battery doorbells, the sensors and the SoloCam E30 are listed as compatible. The S330, S3 Pro, S4 and other SoloCams are not. If you're unsure, message us the model number before you buy.

Do I need a subscription?

Not to record locally. Footage goes to the hub's own storage. There is no ongoing fee required for that.

Can I expand the storage?

The manufacturer lists the HomeBase 2 as 16 GB built in, expandable to 256 GB with a USB drive. The drive is not included. If you want a proper hard drive and terabytes, that's the HomeBase 3 (S380), which we list separately.

Does it do the clever AI stuff?

No. Face recognition, cross-camera tracking and 24/7 recording are HomeBase 3 features. The HomeBase 2 records event clips and does it reliably — that's the job it was built for.

What about Apple HomeKit?

The manufacturer states eufyCam 2, 2 Pro, 2C and 2C Pro support HomeKit and need to be connected to a HomeBase 2 for it. If Apple Home is why you're here, this is the correct hub.

What happens if it turns up faulty?

Message us with your order number and a short video of the problem. Inside 12 months, faulty or not as described means CamGuard covers the return postage. Your Australian Consumer Law rights apply either way.
