QDoes it need a HomeBase or a subscription?
Neither. The E340 is fully standalone: 8GB of storage is built into the doorbell (around 90 days of typical clips, per eufy), with no monthly fees ever. A HomeBase 2 or 3 is purely optional — it adds expanded storage and can act as an indoor chime.
QDoes it work with Apple HomeKit?
No. The E340 supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, with full control in the eufy Security app. If HomeKit is essential to your setup, this isn't the right doorbell — happy to point you at eufy models that do support it.
QBattery or hardwired — which should I use?
Both work. The removable 6500mAh battery runs up to ~4 months per charge (real life varies with door traffic) and recharges over USB-C in about 5 hours. If you have existing 16–24V doorbell wiring, hardwire it for continuous power — and your existing indoor chime can ring too.
QWill it work on my Wi-Fi?
It connects on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (not 5GHz). Almost every router broadcasts 2.4GHz by default — and at the front wall, 2.4GHz's longer reach is genuinely the better band for a doorbell anyway.
