The pictures are perfect. The paintwork has been to a few games.

Same eufy SoloCam S340 (Gen 2). Same 3K wide lens, same 2K telephoto with 8× hybrid zoom, same motor that pans and tilts to follow whatever walked into your yard. The only difference between this listing and our Excellent one is the housing: this camera carries visible cosmetic wear — scuffs and light scratches you will notice without hunting for them. It works perfectly. It just looks like it has played a season.

GRADE GOOD

Let us roll the tape on the condition first.

This is a Manufacturer Renewed unit. It was owned before, it was returned, and the manufacturer's own renewal programme is where the refurbishment and testing happened — not here. We have graded this one Good, and Good means exactly what it sounds like: visible cosmetic wear. Expect scuffing, marked plastics and light scratches on the housing or the solar panel frame. What you should not expect is any effect on how it works — the lenses, the motor, the spotlight, the siren and the battery all do their jobs. It arrives in plain renewed (non-retail) packaging. If you want the tidier-looking one, we list the same camera as Grade: Excellent separately, at a higher price.

HALF-TIME STATS

Cosmetics do not appear on the stat sheet

These are eufy's published figures for the SoloCam S340, and they are identical on a Good unit and an Excellent one. A scratch on a housing does not change a lens. Where eufy publishes no number, we publish none either.

SoloCam S340 — Match Statistics SOURCE: MANUFACTURER SPEC
Wide-angle lens 3K

2880 × 1620 across 135°. Unchanged by a scuffed housing, because it is a lens.

Telephoto lens 2K

2304 × 1296 on the second lens, hybrid 8× zoom. This is the identifying shot.

Pan & tilt 360°

eufy's spec sheet says 355° horizontal and 70° vertical. eufy rounds the pan to 360° in its own marketing.

Aperture f/1.6

eufy's figure. Wider aperture, more light reaching the sensor after dark.

Siren 90dB

Loud is loud regardless of grade. Paired with a motion-activated 100-lumen spotlight.

On-board storage 8GB

Built-in eMMC. No monthly fee for local recording, no cloud subscription required.

Solar panel 2.2W

Adjustable, removable, and attached to this unit. Its frame is the part most likely to show marks.

Battery, no sun 3 mths

eufy's standalone figure with the panel taken out of the equation entirely.

Wide lens: eufy says details are visible up to 8 m (26 ft). Telephoto lens: eufy says you can see faces and read number plates clearly at 15 m (50 ft).
THE MULTIVIEWER

Four angles, one slightly battered camera

A director cuts between cameras to tell the story. The S340 does it with two lenses and a motor. None of the four angles below care what the outside of the housing looks like.

The wide shot

The one every broadcast opens on. 3K over a 135° field of view puts the driveway, the side gate and the bins in a single frame instead of asking you to buy three cameras. eufy puts usable detail at eight metres on this lens.

RULES OF THE GAME

Umpire review: the honest bit

Every listing we write has one of these. On a Good-grade unit it matters more than usual, so it is longer than usual.

REVIEWING · SEVEN DECISIONS ALL EVIDENCE SHOWN
01

This unit was used, and it looks it

Manufacturer Renewed means previously owned, returned, and put right through the manufacturer's own renewal programme. Graded Good, this one carries visible cosmetic wear — scuffs, marked plastics, light scratches on the housing and possibly the solar panel frame. Not hairline marks you need good light to find; marks you will see when you unwrap it. That is the deal, and it is why it is cheaper than our Excellent listing.

02

Cosmetic, not functional

Good is a grade about appearance. The camera works properly: both lenses, the pan and tilt motor, the spotlight, the siren, the battery and the solar panel all do what eufy says they do. If yours does not, that is a warranty job, not a grading question — see the boundary rider's report below.

03

We do not publish an IP rating for it

Different sellers quote IP65 and IP67 for this same model. eufy's own specification does not print an IP number at all — it says weather protection: yes, with an operating range of −20°C to 50°C. So that is what we print. We are not going to pick whichever figure sells better.

04

8GB on board, and no card slot

Storage is 8GB of built-in eMMC. The S340 has no microSD slot, so you cannot expand it with a card. A deeper archive is what an optional HomeBase 3 is for — sold separately, not included, not required.

05

2.4GHz Wi-Fi only

No 5GHz band. If your router publishes one merged network name across both bands, you may need to split them or briefly turn 5GHz off to complete setup. Common to almost every battery camera, and much easier to deal with before you are up a ladder.

06

The solar panel needs real sun

eufy's figure is two hours of direct sunlight a day for continuous power. Under a deep eave, in permanent shade or behind a tree it will not get there, and you will be bringing it inside to charge. Give the panel open northern sky.

07

Pet detection is not on the camera itself

Standalone, the S340's local AI does motion, human and vehicle detection. eufy's pet detection comes from pairing it with a HomeBase 3 and its BionicMind processing. On its own you get the first three.

DECISION: WEAR CONFIRMED

You are buying a camera that looks second-hand and performs like the spec sheet. If that trade is not for you, take the Excellent listing instead — no hard feelings.

Two grades, two prices, no blurring

We could photograph a Good unit from its best angle and call it near-new. We split them into separate listings instead, so you know which one you are buying and what it costs.

Genuine eufy stock, imported by us

CamGuard Australia is an independent importer. We bring the stock in ourselves, which is the only reason a dual-lens tracking camera lands at this price at all.

Out the door in one business day

Packed and lodged from Townsville, North Queensland, within one business day of your order. Australia Post Express is included on every order over $99.00.

A 12-month warranty that is ours

Not a manufacturer warranty — a CamGuard Australia warranty, in-house, twelve months, on top of your Australian Consumer Law rights. Faulty or not as described inside that window and we cover the return postage.

DECISION PENDING · SENT UPSTAIRS

Score review: will it work with what you own?

Goal, behind or no goal. Same three verdicts as the Excellent listing, because compatibility does not care about scratches.

GOAL

Yes — through the big sticks

  • Runs completely on its own. No hub, bridge or companion device required.
  • eufy Security app on iOS and Android.
  • 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi.
  • Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
  • Optional HomeBase 3 (S380) if you already own one — adds central storage and eufy's BionicMind processing.
  • Sitting alongside other eufy cameras in the same app.
BEHIND

Note — hit the post, read this

  • 2.4 GHz only. A merged 2.4/5 GHz network name can stall setup until you split it.
  • Pet detection needs a HomeBase 3; the camera on its own does motion, human and vehicle.
  • A HomeBase 3 is an optional extra — not included here, not required here.
  • Solar output depends entirely on where you mount it. Permanent shade means hand-charging.
  • Cosmetic wear is visible. If the camera sits somewhere people look at closely, factor that in.
NO GOAL

No — did not cross the line

  • No microSD card slot. Storage is the built-in 8 GB and that is the lot.
  • No 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
  • Not a HomeBase 2 or HomeBase Mini camera — those older hubs are not the pairing path for this model.
  • No HomeBase, power adapter or extension cable is included in this listing.
THE TWO BENCHES

Who should take the field, and who should sit this one out

AWAY BENCH — PROBABLY NOT FOR YOU IFSIT THIS ONE OUT
  • 1Appearance matters. If the camera is going somewhere visitors stand and look at it, a scuffed housing will bother you. Take the Excellent listing.
  • 2You are buying it as a gift. Plain renewed packaging plus visible wear is a hard unwrap in front of someone.
  • 3You want a factory-sealed retail box with all the printed inserts. This is renewed stock, plainly packed.
  • 4You need weeks of continuous archive stored on the camera. 8 GB with no card slot is not that.
  • 5Your Wi-Fi is 5 GHz only, or your router will not let you separate the bands.
  • 6You want a manufacturer warranty specifically. Ours is an in-house CamGuard warranty — good, but not eufy's.
  • 7You are running a HomeBase 2 or HomeBase Mini and assumed this camera would join it.
HOME BENCH — PERFECT FOR YOU IFNAMED IN THE SIDE
  • 1The camera is going four metres up on a pole, a shed wall or a rural gatepost where nobody will ever be close enough to see a scratch.
  • 2You would rather put the saving toward a second camera than toward a tidier housing.
  • 3You have one awkward area — long driveway, corner block, wide gate — that a fixed camera keeps half-missing.
  • 4You want the wide shot and the identifying close-up out of one device instead of buying two.
  • 5There is no power outlet where the camera needs to go, and plenty of Queensland sun where it does.
  • 6You are finished with monthly subscriptions and want recording on the device.
  • 7You already run eufy gear and want another camera in the same app.
THE FOUR QUARTERS

From carton to live feed

No electrician, no cabling, no drilling a wall for a power lead. Four quarters and a siren.

FIRST QUARTER

Charge it, then look it over

Bring the battery up on the bench before you go anywhere near a ladder. While it charges, give the housing a wipe and check the wear against what we described. If it does not match this listing, stop and message us — that is a not-as-described claim, and it is on us.

SECOND QUARTER

Pair it in the app

Install the eufy Security app, add the device, and join it to your 2.4 GHz network. If your router merges both bands under one name, split them before you start. Twenty minutes saved.

THIRD QUARTER

Mount it high and aim the panel

Height does two jobs on a Good-grade unit: it gives the lenses a better view, and it puts the cosmetics well out of eyeline. Then angle the solar panel at open sky — eufy's target is two hours of direct sun a day.

FOURTH QUARTER

Set the angles

Pick your detection zones, set the activity zones and tracking behaviour, decide whether the spotlight and siren fire automatically, and check the night view once it is genuinely dark rather than just dim.

Siren sounds — you are live. Walk the yard once with the feed open on your phone. It is the fastest way to find the one angle you will otherwise wish you had nudged, and then forget about for a year.

THE BOUNDARY RIDER

Report from the fence: postage, warranty, returns

CGAU
CROSSING TO THE BOUNDARY

All of this is our published policy, in substance word for word. Buying the cheaper grade does not buy you a lesser warranty — the terms below are identical on both listings.

Postage

Australia Post Express is included on every order over $99.00.

  • Dispatched within 1 business day from Townsville, QLD.
  • Tracking is sent to you when the parcel is lodged.
  • Orders under $99.00 add $9.95 flat tracked, or $12.95 to upgrade to Express.

Warranty

A 12-month CamGuard Australia warranty. This is our own in-house warranty and it is expressly not a manufacturer warranty.

  • It sits in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which nothing here limits.
  • Faulty or not as described inside 12 months: CamGuard covers the return postage.
  • Cosmetic wear consistent with the Good grade described above is not a fault — a camera that does not work is.
  • Message us with your order number and the serial number printed on the camera and we will start it.

Change of mind

30 days from delivery.

  • The buyer pays the return postage.
  • Original shipping is not refunded.
  • Item back to us in resaleable condition with everything it arrived with.
TALKBACK

Lines are open

The questions that actually come in on the Good-grade listings, answered the way we would answer them on the phone.

SWITCHBOARD · CALLERS WAITING SEVEN ON THE LINE
Caller 1Deeragun
“Manufacturer Renewed — be straight with me. How used is it?”
Used enough to see. A renewed unit was previously owned and has been through the manufacturer's own renewal programme, which is where the refurbishment and testing happened. We then grade what turns up. This one is Good, which means visible cosmetic wear — scuffing, marked plastics, light scratches on the housing and possibly the solar panel frame. It works properly; it does not look new. Packaging is plain renewed (non-retail) packaging, and the warranty is our own 12-month CamGuard Australia warranty, not a manufacturer warranty.
Caller 2Alligator Creek
“What is the actual difference between your Good and your Excellent listing?”
The housing, and the price. Both are Manufacturer Renewed, both are the same camera with the same specification and the same 12-month CamGuard warranty. Excellent presents close to new, with light handling marks possible. Good — this one — has wear you will notice straight away. If the camera is going up high on a pole or a shed, Good is the smarter buy. If it sits at eye level by the front door, spend the extra.
Caller 3Cranbrook
“Do the scratches affect the picture?”
No. The grade describes the housing and the panel frame, not the optics. You still get the 3K wide lens, the 2K telephoto with hybrid 8× zoom, the pan and tilt tracking, colour night vision, the 100-lumen spotlight and the 90dB siren. If a lens itself were damaged, that unit would not be listed as Good — it would not be listed at all.
Caller 4Jensen
“Is the solar panel included, or do I buy that separately?”
Included and already attached. The 2.2 W panel is part of the unit on these, not an accessory we sell you afterwards. eufy states two hours of direct sunlight a day is enough to keep it running continuously — so the real question is whether your mounting spot gets sun, not whether you get a panel. Note the panel frame is one of the parts most likely to show wear on a Good unit.
Caller 5Kelso
“Do I need a HomeBase?”
No. eufy's own wording is that this camera can work alone — no hubs, bridges or companion devices required. It records to its built-in 8 GB and connects straight to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. A HomeBase 3 is optional; it adds central storage and eufy's BionicMind processing, which is where pet detection comes from. No HomeBase is included in this listing.
Caller 6Wulguru
“Everyone quotes a different IP rating. What is it?”
We do not know, and neither do the sellers quoting one. eufy's own specification for the S340 lists weather protection: yes and an operating range of −20°C to 50°C, and publishes no IP figure. You will find both IP65 and IP67 quoted for this exact model by third parties. We would rather give you eufy's words than pick the number that reads better in an ad.
Caller 7Thuringowa
“What if it turns up worse than you described?”
Then it is not as described, and that is our problem to fix, not yours to wear. Message us with your order number and the serial number printed on the camera. Faulty or not as described inside 12 months and CamGuard covers the return postage. Separately, if you simply change your mind, you have 30 days from delivery — on those the buyer pays return postage and the original shipping is not refunded.
