Here's the entire story: the retail carton was opened. The system inside is new and never used — the sock has never been on anyone's little foot, the camera has never been mounted, and nothing has ever been paired to an account.
This isn't refurbished or renewed stock — nothing has been repaired or restored, because nothing needed to be. It's simply new gear whose box can no longer be called sealed, so we list it as "Open Box" rather than "Brand New" and price it accordingly. We're fussy about words like that.
Everything from the What's Included list further down is in the carton, repacked carefully for transit. And before it ships, the unit's serial number is photographed and logged at dispatch — so your warranty paper trail starts the moment it leaves Townsville.

It's a wellness tracker, not a medical device.
The S340 tracks heart rate, blood oxygen and sleep patterns for peace of mind. It is not a certified medical monitor and cannot be used to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition — including SIDS. It never replaces safe sleep practices or your doctor.
Open box means exactly that.
The retail carton has been opened, so we won't call it sealed and we won't call it "brand new". What we can say: the gear inside is new and unused — never worn, never mounted, never paired — and the full kit is present. The saving comes off the box, not the product.
It fits babies 0–18 months, up to 13.6 kg (30 lb).
Three sock wrap sizes (S/M/L) are included and fit either foot. Past 18 months or 30 lb, the wraps won't fit properly and readings won't be reliable — this isn't the product for toddlers.
The sock battery lasts about 24 hours per charge.
It charges wirelessly on the magnetic base station, so the realistic routine is: charge during the day, wear at night. It becomes part of bedtime, like the sleep sack.
The camera and base station plug into the wall.
The camera runs on a 5V/2A USB-C adapter and the base on a 5V/1A adapter — both included. The only battery-powered part is the sock sensor itself.
Wi-Fi is 2.4GHz only.
The system connects over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, and the sock talks to the base via Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0. Most routers have 2.4GHz on by default — just don't hide it behind a 5GHz-only network.
It's a baby monitor, not a security camera.
The camera does cry, sound and room-temperature alerts — but motion detection is not supported, and there's no HomeKit, Alexa or Google integration. It lives in its own eufy Baby app and does one job well.
Sleep tracking likes a cot, not a car.
eufy's sleep detection works best when your baby sleeps in a cot or bed. Moving prams, car rides and naps in your arms will confuse the algorithm — the vitals still read, but sleep-state accuracy drops.

Will the sock bother my baby?
The sensor weighs 8 grams — lighter than a AAA battery — and the wrap is soft, breathable, washable fabric. Three sizes are included and every size fits either foot, so you can get a comfortable fit from newborn through 18 months.
How long does the sock battery last?

Does the camera glow red at night?

Is there a subscription?

Does it work with HomeKit, Alexa or Google?
No. The S340 uses the dedicated eufy Baby app (not the eufy Security app) and doesn't integrate with smart-home platforms. It's a standalone baby monitoring system.
Can I use the camera without the sock?
Yes — the camera stands alone as a 2K monitor with pan/tilt/zoom, night vision, two-way talk and cry detection. The sock is where the vitals come from. Each is useful; together is the point.
Will it work here in Australia?
